We create God in our own image.
The Jewish, Christian, Islamic God was created out of a Middle Eastern Desert tribal Society. Because their environment was harsh and very unforgiving, so was their God. They also lived as a tribal society, and so theirs was the only true God, thus your God was false (or in the early days, a lessor God)

DDay, are you sure that's what GOP stands for, I thought it was Getting Obscene Payola.

I thought that the Theory of One God goes back to the Egyptians. At least recent discoveries seem to be pointing to that, and as a result the Jewish people took that belief with them when the escaped.

That or it started with the Cylons (which I personally believe ;-) )

When I went to grade school in the early 1950's my 1st through 4th grade teacher said that freedom meant that you could do as you wished as long as you did not hurt someone. The corporations and rich people go by the first part of this statement but don't understand the last part.

Please read the Hebrew translation of the new Testament correctly it was never meant to be taken physically only spiritually.. NO ONE said the word homosexual in the actual text. It is translated as do not love the things of men, which are things like hate, jealousy, bigotry, lies, etc. But love the things of God, like love, forgiveness, charity, truth etc. This is the plain and simple translation it has nothing to do with physical things like gay rights.

A. Boll

Nels (not verified) 10 years 34 weeks ago

Bert, I think their interpretation of it is "You can do as you wish as long as you can't be held liable for your actions."

Nels (not verified) 10 years 34 weeks ago

"Or at least have the lawyers to appeal that liability"

Perhaps referring to Corporations as Vampires is inappropriate, I think it would be more appropriate to call them Privateers... (Government backed pirates).

It's tax time. The Supreme Court just ruled money talks. The Golden rule. Whoever has the gold rules. Taxpayers rule. Well, we rule until April 15th. Until then we got the money so we call the shots. Well, at least that is the way it is suppose to work. What is wrong with this picture? Congress is not paying attention. I said I want single payer health care and they said screw you. The banks said bail us out and Congress said No problem. I said, I want all the troops home and Congress said I can't hear you. AIG said bail us not once but twice and Congress said How much do you need? Here, take as much as you need, its not our money its the taxpayers money and they can't do a darn thing about it.

Congress doesn't care what the taxpayers want because we never gave them an ultimatum like the banks and wall street did? So whose fault is that? It's our fault. We never told Congress like the Banks and Wall street to give us what we want or we will not give them what you want. Tax money.

This is the only opportunity we have to tell Congress what we want and when we want it. We hold all the cards. Congress can't do a damn thing without our tax money. As soon as we turn the money over to them they are going to turn around and give it to their friends on Wall street and the bankster unless we tell them what we want right now and refuse to give it to them until everything is signed on the dotted line. This is our golden opportunity because we hold all the gold. Here's the demands: single payer health care and bring the troops home now.

We have never given Congress any reason to listen to us. We have never threatened to cut off their funding or attach any strings to the taxes we are paying them. So why should they do what we want? It's not that they can't do it. Hell, how fast did they agree to bail out Wall street? They just plain don't give a damn about what we want because we just keep giving them money to turn around and beat the living daylights out of us. Taxpayers are just one big fat joke to Congress. They figure we have no choice and are too afraid not to give them the tax money. Well, they are wrong about the choice. Procession is 90% of the law. Until we pay the money it is still ours. We have every right to negotiate where our money goes before we give it to them. Too afraid? Perhaps. And if that is the case then we are looking at more of the same for the next year.

If we don't have the balls to kick ass even when we are holding all the cards then how do we expect Congress to do any different? We have to show Congress we mean business and that does not mean rolling over and playing dead.

So are they going to put us all in jail? Of course not because they need us to be working and making money. Putting us all in jail costs a lot of money they don't have and means there goes the whole entire tax base.

Congress will listen to what we have to say. Money talks. And who has all the money? Taxpayers or in this case would be taxpayers. Now is the time to give Congress a piece of our mind on no uncertain terms. Give us single payer health care, bring all the troops from Germany, Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Iraq and then we will pay you for a job well done. Until then, we will hold onto our money and our power thank you very much.

DRichards, does it delve into the Stargate connection? Because I'm not sure if the Cylon hypothesis is credible enough for me... though I think I'm really over the Scientology thought process... maybe.

Of course according to the Bible there are multiple gods, its right there in black in white ever time the 10 Commandments are reprinted... "Do not have any other gods before me". That obviously implies that God believes there are other gods, otherwise he would have told Moses "There are no other gods but me."

The law of unintended consequences may turn what was once a hurtful label into a badge of honor as uttered by Rahm Emanuel. Liberals and progressives can wear the label of Retard with pride, knowing its source. Besides, lifting that burden from those who have carried it... is no hardship given this context. You might say it is a no-brainer and no sweat for us new liberal "F"-ing retards. Thanks Rahm!

I have been trying to convince the tea baggers that the REAL enemy are the big corporations who own and run the government for their own profit. They insist on blaming big government when they were no where to be seen when Bushoccio was spending us into oblivion.

Anyway, we are in a serious and deadly CLASS WAR. The sooner we can bring everyone into the fold to unite to do something about it the better.

re: Abraham Lincoln quote

when I was in high school, we did a survey for civics class. we paraphrased the Declaration of Independence. briefly, like this "Governments are nothing sacred, they are formed by men. And their power comes from the people. If any branch of the government is not serving the people, then we have the right to change or abolish that Government and start a new Government."

my assignment was to stand in a local car wash and hand out questionairesand ask a simple question: do you agree or disagree with this concept? this was during the vietnam war and period of civil unrest. most of the people were not even aware these concepts were from our own declaration of independence. a solid majority disagreed. many were angered and refused to even participate in our survey. I still remember one man smiling at me and asking "what are you, some kind of radical?" his answer was "yes, I agree." He gave me his address and asked for our final results.

we need more informed people like him. we need to inform the people who are not informed that the government belongs to us. we need to take back the power that is slipping away to the corporations and give it back to the people, the rightful owners.

I can't believe anyone is waiting to see what Sara Palin says or doesn't say.... ABOUT ANYTHING!!!!

What are can people be waiting for, something that questions her point of view? something that might border on a iota of insight?

While we're at it, lets wait for Cheney to donate over half of his personal wealth to the poor and refuse any tax right off related to that action. Or something else as insanely ridiculous.

I had a chance to review the video discs by Lindsey Williams. Here are some of the highlights from his discs.

There is a group of people who do control our world. The American dollar will collapse. Inflation will increase in two years. Gold and silver are the only money that matters. War is planned after two years. The name of the game is control, manipulation, and power. Not everything is about money!

The elite are not divine. The elite are laughing at stupid Americans. The elite are the devil’s messiahs. The elite are trying to remove our God to control Americans. The original purpose of education was to teach us how to read so we can read the Bible. Today, the purpose of education is to be patriotic Americans in order to pay our taxes.

Where do we want our rewards? Do we want our rewards to come from God or from the American government?

The elite want to set up a New World Order. We will all work for the American government. America is in trouble. We will be poor by inflation, deflation, and slavery.

The American taxpayer gave the elite $2.5 trillion and in return the elite gave us a $9 trillion deficit. A JOB means Just Over Broke! The collapse of the American dollar and inflation will be gradual. ALL ORIGINAL WEALTH COMES FROM THE GROUND!!! Gold and silver come from the ground. Money for the elite is gold and silver. Paper money means nothing to the elite. The elite’s plans are by intentional design.

In the U.S. Constitution there are not the words, separation of church and state. The current standard of currency for the world is crude oil and the American dollar. The American dollar is being phased out as a viable currency. The world is dumping the American dollar. Our politicians have betrayed us. The Bush family is an oil family and they are part of the elite.

The American dollar is worthless and it will collapse the world economy. In two years America will be bankrupt, inflation will rise, salaries are slashed, and soup lines will be here but will the soup lines have any soup. Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God! – Thomas Jefferson!

There will be war throughout through out the world in two years. Everyone will be working for the American government. Gasoline will be $10 per gallon. We have no job in America. The elite have moved all of our jobs out of our country. 501C3 binds the pastors from speaking out against our country’s policies and practices. Churches, today, do not have pastors with courage. Only Divine Intervention can save America!

The elite do have ethics and they must reveal to us what they intend to do. This revelation is subtle. The elite do not have salvation. They have a god and their god is of this world and his name is Lucifer. The mouthpiece for the elite is the national media.

The elite want only nine mega-banks. The elite are vicious people. Watch for the bank takeovers! Watch for the number of bankruptcies! Do we have access to our safety deposit boxes? Watch the movies Hollywood produces! Do these movies glorify violence and war? Watch the pace of inflation! At the end we will see a limit on how much money we can take out of the bank.

Here are the control measures to enslave Americans banking or the control of our pocketbooks, health care, the Patriot Act, Youth Corp or the SS Brownshirts, mandatory service in society for adults, gun control, travel restrictions, and media restrictions.

The elite do not act the part of criminals. The elite leave the impression of being responsible and respected people.

Here are some thoughts for the day
Progressives need to counter GOP every day---

1. Sarah in Rogueland having TEA with the MAD ROUGERS. Try it out.

2. Working Progressive Americans or WPA'ers. Quite historical also.
We need a counter to the TEA party rougers.

3. TEA party roguers acting as to throw overboard anything they don't like, while the rest of the world passes America up!

4. It appears the GOP and some Dems have NO FAITH in America's Civil court system to prosecute "really" bad persons! What's up with this NO FAITHers?

Here are some words by Smedley Butler in 1933.

“War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.

It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”

re: Gayle Haggard

The most appalling thing about the Haggards, and really anyone who thinks that homosexuality is a condition that needs to be treated, is that they have the arrogance to presume that we as people can change other people. While behavior can certainly be modified, it is impossible to change the way someone really feels, I think Mrs. Haggard should be aware of that more than anyone else.

I also suspect that the Bible that people like the Haggard's read and teach from must look like a redacted CIA document, where only the parts that serve their dubious purpose/bank account are left !!!

Thanks for suffering through the Lindsey Williams Discs for us.

When he speaks of Elites, which elites is he talking about - the intellectual elites like Obama, or the economic elites like the banksters?

Nels (not verified) 10 years 34 weeks ago

Chuckle8, I would never try to turn you into anything. Be who you want to be. If you makes U feel better though, I'm A Green, not a Democratic Party member.

But there's always room in the at the "Coke Party" if you want to join. (However our members may be a teeny weeny paranoid about everyone being out to get them, like Con's, Christians and Corporations. ;-) )

Gerald Socha (not verified) 10 years 34 weeks ago

Although I have shared much information with you on Lindsey Williams, he turned me off with two sentences. “America is a republic and not a democracy. Democracy is socialism.” I like socialism and America needs more socialism. A republic has elected representatives. Do you honestly believe that our elected representatives really care about you and me? In a democracy the people have supreme power. I believe the people should have supreme power and not our elected representatives and especially the appointed Supreme Court justices who are really politicians and care for only the rich, the corporations, and the military. GIVE ME MORE SOCIALISM IN THE USA!!!

Gerald Socha (not verified) 10 years 34 weeks ago

Chuckle8, Lindsey Williams is talking about the moneybrokers, the oil barons, the manipulators and the people outsourcing jobs to other countries with little concern for the average American. He may also be talking about sociopaths who lack a conscience.

BBC just reported that China is stalling our chicken imports with over-inspections. We won't take their tires, so they won't take our chickens... It's obvious human beings have gone off the deep end, but are you sure Tariffs are a still good idea? Could they worsen trade wars? And what's the solution after trade wars get started?

Is Every Single Part Of the Trump Presidency a Con?

Thom plus logo Donald Trump swindled his father's estate for several hundred million dollars and turned himself into a phony billionaire. We now know it was all a con.

The Trump administration, according to today's New York Times, was leaning on the CDC to provide any kind of evidence, no matter how thin or meaningless, that could be used to justify opening schools. We now know that was all a con.
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
Dean Baker, economist and author of Plunder and Blunder, False Profits, and Taking Economics Seriously
