Sarah Palin Killed Granny...

In a study by the New England Journal of Medicine that exposes the effects of end-of-life care, doctors have discovered that patients with terminal lung cancer who began receiving palliative care quickly after diagnosis were not only happier, were more mobile and had less pain as the end neared — but they also lived nearly three months longer. Dr. Diane E. Meier, director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care at Mount Sinai School of Medicine said, “It shows that palliative care is the opposite of all that rhetoric about ‘death panels,’" and added, “It’s not about killing Granny; it’s about keeping Granny alive as long as possible — with the best quality of life.” Tragically in response to Sarah Palin's hysteria about death panels, advice about end of care options will not be covered by Obamacare.

Why do conservatives want the government to decide what happens to you at the end of your life instead of you? I thought they were against that. Or are they just simply against anything Democrats are for?

The BBC had an article about a week ago about the five year delay, from the time a cancer drug enters the market and British patients get it. It specifically referenced drugs that were designed to increase the quality of life. In another article, the BBC referred to NICE as a rationing body.

The first Democrat's idea of Government healthcare did not work then, and does not work now.

"Don't get sick in June," is what the 1st Americans say. In the event that you don't know who they are, they are the Native Americans who were part of Democrat Andrew Jackson's plan of extermination in the 1920's.But this cryptic reality still lives on today for those on the 1st government healthcare plan. Let's all; Democrats and Republicans think about the principles and policies we are supporting. And ladies, let's respect each other, whether we agree with each other or not. We are raising a generation of women who are looking to us to show them a "new way of going."Sarah Palin is a member of the human race who deserves respect and honor, whether we agree with all of her principles or not.

In correction of hep's jive, Andrew Jackson wasn't the first Democrat, that would be Thomas Jefferson. Maybe the party dropped the word "Republicans" from their name around that time. Also, though Andrew Jackson fought with, then turned on the Native Americans, he had no plan to exterminate them, and certainly not 80 years after his death.

Did Sarah (The History Professor) Palin help you with this post?

Respectfully, read the post, I did not imply that Jackson was the 1st Democrat, I was referring to the 1st Americans--the Native Americans, and check your history, even a child's library book will confirm Jackson's role in extermination, it was even referred to as such. As far as the remarks about Palin, find something else to talk about, nobody has time to listen to childish insults.

I don't believe it is the conservatives who want the government to decide anything for us. This is the problem, there is too much government control and there is not much room for debating it either. A good healthy debate never hurt anyone. In fact, some of the best ideas and solutions came from debates.
