Nah Obama isn't the last Nixonian Republican... just the latest.

Republicans are getting everything they want and a Democratic President to do their dirty work. And where is the discussion of the export of American jobs and their huge tax base or any other economic and political fundamentals. The Republicans have to be laughing out loud behind closed doors at their subjection of President Obama and the gullibility of the Democratic Party and the American populace. Wisconsin had a black women run for state legislator with the tag, “I ain’t no rich man’s bitch”. I wish I could say the same about Obama.

Please, stop, enough of the speculation about Obama was threatened hence he can't do anything progressive.....how it has not occurred to you that he is weak as weak can be is surprising.

Look, MLK was threatened and what did he do....he kept fighting for the principles he believed in even if it meant his death.they guy in the WH don't have no principles & no courage.

Get over it,we voted for an incompetent coward.

@ajackson652, well therein lies the crux of the problem. Being outspoken and strong galvanizes the electorate, leaving a minor following for the candidate. Obama's greatest strength in his candidacy was remaining vague, he offered hope and change. Hope for what kind of change he never identified, just offered it.

Uh art is art. A good portion of it is made with an intention to shock/offend. Censoring it is ridiculous, and making arguments that its vulgar to your senses, and therefore your tax dollars shouldn't be paying for it is just ludicrous. I don't like my tax dollars going to the DOD, I don't like my tax dollars being sent to aid foreign countries whose policies I disagree with, etc etc... However, that's the price of being a citizen, you pay your dues and your society is allowed to be governed.

Dan Gainor's message highlights the big glaring problem with the Republican world-view: if it has no value to ME, I don't want to pay for it. In that vein, 75% of the military budget has no value to ME. So I don't want to pay for that either.

There are some great works of art produced during the Roosevelt administration, funded by tax dollars.

Our advanced communication technologies allow us to either embrace life or to advocate delusional world views. The current crop of know nothings have focused on the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Now, what's on TV?

Perhaps Obama desires to destroy his presidency, and therefore has found common ground with the republicans? Think about it, maybe he just wants out ASAP and is going to start making the kaching$$$ on speaking tours, after all who gives a better speech than Obama? He's going to dwarf Clinton's post presidency fortune. Consider this, we've been saying Obama has been playing chess from the beginning, well now perhaps this is the endgame goal.

Obama isn't a chess master as so many have thought, he is a Judo master.

He takes the effort of his base, pulls it into himself and then uses their own energy to throw them.

Dan Gainor and his people aren't complaining about the American Presidents exhibition, or Elvis, at the National Gallery. Their homophobia is showing.

When I flew into National a few years ago, one of the passengers remarked that it cost over $400,000 just to change the signs to honor that great hero of the Air Traffic Controllers, Ronald Raygun.

Raygun also said that Unemployment Insurance was a pre-paid vacation for freeloaders. This from the former president of the Screen Actors Guild.

Dan Gainer worrys that the $5 million spent to run the National Gallery would be better spent on the unemployed. How many unemployed are there in this great country? What Gainer prefers is to close the gallery so we can give these folks 20 cents each, really?

December 1, 2010

I have heard it said to not judge another person until you walk in their shoes. I am presently going to walk in Obama’s shoes. I, Gerald, was elected president in November, 2008. On January 20, 2009 I took the oath of office. Personally, being re-elected president was of little concern to me. I have $150 million in a trust fund for my unused donations. After four years the trust fund should be $170 million. Upon leaving office my wife, Jo, will receive a beautiful federal pension and I will receive a beautiful federal pension that is worth for my wife and me about $7 million per year. Interest from my trust fund is at least $5 million per year and I will also receive royalties on my book deals and from lectures. I should be able with my wife receive $15 million per year for the rest of our lives. There is no way I can lose. I am in a win-win situation with no more headaches.

hour one of the 12/1/10 show was one of the best. Yes, Obama governs from the right, the old Republican perspective.

Thom, please emphasize that Obama has self-defined himself as a "New Democrat" when he met with the New Democrat Coalition on 3/9 or 11 /09, as noted on c-span and the New Dem coalition website video clips.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann seeks out interesting subjects from such disparate outposts of curiosity that you have to wonder whether or not he uncovered them or they selected him."
Leonardo DiCaprio, actor, producer, and environmental activist
From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"If you wonder why and when giant corporations got the power to reign supreme over us, here’s the story."
Jim Hightower, national radio commentator and author of Swim Against the Current
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
