It occurs to me that Obama could very well have Sen. McConnell over a pickle barrel with that senators refusal to even hold a hearing on the appointment of a SOTUS nominee. If I remember correctly, McConnell's very words were, "We have to let the American people decide....." And, of course Sen. M. is an honorable man true to his word.

The key word here is "people" and since HRC won the popular vote it is clearly logical that the "people" and not the state electors, have decided. Now, under the auspice of McConnell's newly found precedent to break precedent, Obama should assign his nominee to the court. When McConnell objects. Obama cites his statement, If McConnell needs more proof, then a national referendum might suit him. Of course he wouldn't agree to anything so democratic, but just the suggestion opens up a Constitutional debate. And just how would the SOTUS vote if it rose to their threshhold? A revelation of just exactly what side the butter is on the bread would be ominous.

It is true that the Founder's did not make mention of such an impasse'. Their underlying sense of Virtue would not countenance the blantant ignorance of intended procdure put forth by McConnell. Obama should do this and provide a civics lesson to the public.

FLASH: Donald J. Trump has purchased the office of POTUS for a measly $25 million

How many billions will he pocket as a result of his presidency? Imagine that... a potential of a 1000% return on his investment... counting all the under-the-table income he will generate. The lifetime benefits alone from the president's retirement package are worth far more than $25 million.

The (foolish) people that accepted the settlement were in a position to insure that Trump would be impeached. The evidence was overwhelming in their favor — they would have won in open court... and the verdict would have led to a felony conviction. The plaintiffs sold out for a (probable) minimal amount... rather than save their country's future — and while saving their country's future... they would have (most likely) received more money.

Maybe I've got it wrong — Can a convicted felon be the President of the United States?

"In Cracking the Code, Thom Hartmann, America’s most popular, informed, and articulate progressive talk show host and political analyst, tells us what makes humans vulnerable to unscrupulous propagandists and what we can do about it. It is essential reading for all Americans who are fed up with right-wing extremists manipulating our minds and politics to promote agendas contrary to our core values and interests."

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
