Should The 25th Amendment Be Invoked to Get Trump Out of Office - Due to His handling Of the Coronavirus?

Thom plus logo We are now all Seattle and New Rochelle. Two years ago, the Trump administration shut down the two high-level offices in the White House that were responsible for dealing with a pandemic. No longer exist.

Because of Trump's incompetence and hubris, his administration was unwilling to make the World Health Organization test kit, which was available all over the world in January, available anywhere in the United States. Thus, large parts of the United States are probably in a situation similar to Seattle and New Rochelle, or will be soon, but we don't know the details because the test kits are not available and have not been for months.

We need a national mobilization right now to prepare our hospitals and doctors offices for what is coming. We need easy and accessible testing in every community in America today. And because the Trump administration is unwilling to make this happen and is giving us happy talk, we all need to carefully re-calibrate our lives and avoid unnecessary exposure to crowds and public events.

Finally, Mike Pence, if he is actually listening to the health professionals around him, should convene the Cabinet and begin the process of invoking the 25th Amendment to get Trump out of office and protect our nation.

How is your 401K doing Tinhat?

In spring 2018 the Trump administration axed the executive branch team responsible for coordinating a response to a pandemic and did not replace it. The then National Security Advisor John Bolton "reorganized" the National Security Council removing the position of Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer and disbanding his team. Tom Bossert, whom the Washington Post reported “had called for a comprehensive biodefense strategy against pandemics and biological attacks,” had been fired one month prior.

From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"If you wonder why and when giant corporations got the power to reign supreme over us, here’s the story."
Jim Hightower, national radio commentator and author of Swim Against the Current
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
Bill McKibben, author of Eaarth
From Cracking the Code:
"In Cracking the Code, Thom Hartmann, America’s most popular, informed, and articulate progressive talk show host and political analyst, tells us what makes humans vulnerable to unscrupulous propagandists and what we can do about it. It is essential reading for all Americans who are fed up with right-wing extremists manipulating our minds and politics to promote agendas contrary to our core values and interests."
