Our Gov't Should Be Protecting People's Health - Not Corporate Profits

Why is our government working more to pad corporate bottom lines than it is to protect public health?

How Can An Entire Party Reject the Reality of Climate Change?

Farron Cousins, The Trial Lawyer Magazine/The Ring of Fire, joins Thom. Bernie Sanders talks a lot about Wall Street and economic inequality. But another important issue for Bernie Sanders is tacking climate change so that our planet stays inhabitable for our children's generation and their children's generation. Or as he called for after his big win in Vermont on Super Tuesday - the fight for "environmental sanity." Hillary Clinton has come out against the Keystone XL pipeline and said that she would tackle climate change too. And even though she hasn't come out in favor of a carbon tax - she's light years ahead of any of the Republicans on climate change - just because she actually believes that it's happening - AND that humans are causing it. How can an entire party reject the reality of climate change? And what can we expect if any of the Republican candidates get into the White House?

Can the Rise of The New Authoritarians Be Stopped?

Richard Eskow, Bernie Sanders Campaign/The Zero Hour joins Thom. Recent research from Matthew MacWilliams at the University of Massachusetts Amherst looked at the biggest predictors that someone would support Trump. What he found was surprising - Trump supporters are pretty well split in terms of gender - age - and education level. But what most Trump supporters had in common was that they are have authoritarian personalities. What’s surprising is that the rise of someone like Donald Trump had already been predicted back in 2009 in a book called "Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics." The book's authors concluded that the GOP's position as the party of "traditional values" and "law and order" had made it a magnet for authoritarian Americans from both parties - and that those Americans would eventually gain real power in the GOP. And that's the harsh reality that Mitt Romney and the other establishment Republicans are apparently just coming to grips with

The Trump University Scam Exposed

David Halperin, Republic Report/Huffington Post/Stealing America's Future, joins Thom. Mitt Romney went out of his way today to blast Donald Trump for his failed for-profit college - the so-called "Trump University." Just how much does the Republican frontrunner have to hide regarding his foray into higher education? And could it sink his campaign?

SCOTUS - Will it choose to roll back or protect abortion?

Danielle Blevins, Talk Media News Service joins Thom. The Supreme Court once again holds the reproductive rights of millions of women in its hands. Will it choose to roll back or protect abortion? And what impact will Antonin Scalia's death have on its decision?

Consumers Beware - Debbie Wasserman Schultz vs. Elizabeth Warren

Tim Canova, Progressive Candidate for Congress (D-FL, District 23)/Nova Southeastern University-Shepard Broad College of Law, joins Thom. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the chairwoman of the DNC. So why is she siding with Republicans against regulations to stop payday loan predators? Not surprisingly - a lot of Democrats are scratching their heads about what exactly Wasserman Schultz is up to here and why she’s taking - well - such an anti-democratic position.
Is it because she’s saying “screw you” to the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren wing of the party?

Full Show 3/3/16: Why is the DNC Chair Siding with the Banksters?!?!

Thom discusses how the DNC chair is siding with Republicans against regulations to stop payday loan predators with her congressional opponent Tim Canova, the latest abortion case before the Supreme Court with Talk Media News Service’s Danielle Blevins, and the fraud of Trump University with Republic Report’s David Halperin. In tonight’s Daily Take Thom discusses how Congress is working to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act which would save Monsanto millions.

The Good, the Bad & the Very, Very Coadunately Ugly!

The Bad! Bill Clinton. In Massachusetts - the law is clear that with 150 feet of a polling place - no one is allowed to "solicit votes for or against, or otherwise promote or oppose, any person or political party or position on a ballot question.” Bill Clinton either doesn't know that law - or just doesn't care - based on this video on YouTube showing Bill outside a polling place in New Bedford Massachusetts. According to reports - he appeared at at least three more polling places throughout the state. There's still questions about how this impacted the results on Tuesday night. But this is pretty bad even if it didn't impact the outcome - and Bill Clinton's a blatant disregard of election law made people wait for hours before they could cast their vote.

Ryan Girdusky, Red Alert Politics & Adam Green, Bold Progressives' Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) &Scott Greer, The Daily Caller all join Thom. So - why is the media portraying this race as "over"? And what will Bernie have to do to make sure that he gets the critical wins he'll need to challenge Hillary at the convention?

Why Is Wasserman Schultz Taking Down Elizabeth Warren? Politics Panel

Ryan Girdusky, Red Alert Politics & Adam Green, Bold Progressives' Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) &Scott Greer, The Daily Caller all join Thom. Florida Representative and Chair of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Schultz found a new way to completely alienate the progressive wing of the democratic party. Wasserman Schultz is currently co-sponsoring a bill that would gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by delaying new payday lending rules by two years - and it would nullify the rules in any state that has its own payday lending law - like her state of Florida. The CFPB was a major accomplishment for progressives - why is the chair of the DNC attacking it?

Marshall Auerback, Levy Institute/Economists for Peace and Security joins Thom. The real question is - who has the economic plan that will reboot the American dream?
