For tonight's Green Report we head all the way north - and I mean all the way north - to the north pole - where for a brief period last Wednesday - something very - very very strange happened.Temperatures shot up in the North Pole to just around freezing - which is 0 degrees celsius or 32 degrees fahrenheit. And while that might sound downright polar to many people living in more temperate climes - it's unseasonably warm for the arctic. In fact - it's about 50 degrees above average. Imagine it being about 95 degrees fahrenheit somewhere along the northeast seaboard tonight - that's how crazy warm it was in the arctic last week. So what in the heck is going on? On why is this very very scary news?

One of the most controversial nuclear power plants in the country - San Onofre is now on its way to closing down permanently. But its retirement plans now could be on hold in the wake of a report from an NBC-affiliate in California that the land around the facility could be contaminated by toxic materials.

The officers who shot Cleveland youth Tamir Rice will not face charges for the shooting - a county prosecutor announced on Monday night. Prosecutor Tim mcGinty said that "Given this perfect storm of human error, mistakes and communications by all involved that day, the evidence did not indicate criminal conduct by the police." He went on to blame the fact that Tamir appeared older and bigger than just 12 years old. But Ohio is an open-carry state - and the cops say they thought Tamir Rice was an adult - which means even if the gun had been real and if he really were an adult - he wouldn't have been doing anything illegal under Ohio law. So why did the cops even stop him, much less respond with lethal force? Wouldn't he be alive today if he had been white?
