Gianno Caldwell, Caldwell Strategic Consulting & Sarah Badawi, Progressive Change Campaign Committee(PCCC) & Scott Greer, The Daily Caller all join Thom Hartmann. If Bernie Sanders keeps being ignored by the corporate media - then Hillary Clinton owes DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz a big thank-you. That’s because while the first Republican Party debate is just 9 days away - Democratic debates won't start until the fall - and even then there will only be 6 - that's right, 6 - total debates .

The Final Push Against the TPP

Ari Rabin-Havt, The Agenda-SiriusXM Progress 127/The Benghazi Hoax, joins Thom. SHAFTA as I call it - appear to be coming to a close. Negotiators appear to be pushing to finish talks during this round - before the election cycle begins in 2016 in both the United States and Canada. According to sources - there are several key sticking points for different countries. Among them are the terms of Investor-State Dispute Settlement clauses in the SHAFTA deal and in existing trade agreements. Another key sticking point is how the medical patents will be handled - the current proposal would give a single company a monopoly on developing treatments for certain types of cancers and diseases. Which means that the competition in the market that drives innovation would be eliminated as a single company would have over a decade of non-competitive research. Beyond that - this deal appears to treat powerful industrial countries with the same rules as developing countries like Brunei or Malaysia - a fact that will harm both sets of countries in the name of multinational corporate interests.
