Did Comey Break the Law?

Does Hillary have More Cajones Than Obama?

Big Picture Politics Panel: Valerie Ervin, Working Families Party & David Ferguson, Ferguson & Associates join Thom. One of the big frustrations a lot of progressives had with President Obama was that when they tried to block him, he would try to get all bipartisan and chummy with Republicans, even when it was clear that they were doing everything they could to undermine him - his party - and arguably the country. Say what you will about Hillary Clinton - but it’s not so clear that she’ll react the same way as President Obama did. Sure, she’s tried to appeal to Republicans as part of her campaign - but if she’s elected president - it looks like that Hillary Clinton may tackle the Republican sabotage machine head-on.

Trump Sending "Citizen Journalists" To Intimidate Voters At the Polls…!?

Big Picture Interview: Greg Palast, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy joins Thom. Donald Trump supporters are now organizing a voter intimidation campaign in public. Is this about stopping voter fraud or waging a war on democracy itself?

BREAKING NEWS From Standing Rock: 'They Have Us Surrounded!'

Kandi Mossett, Indigenous Environmental Network (I.E.N.) tells Thom. A major police operation is under way in North Dakota against the Native American coalition leading the protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Why is the state using violence to protect the interests of a for-profit corporation? And what should this tell us about the power of the fossil fuel industry as a whole?

Tonight’s Politics Panel discusses whether Hillary will try and work with Republicans in Congress and whether the GOP will continue to block Supreme Court nominees.

WA Carbon Tax - Does it Have To Be Perfect?

Vien Truong, Green for All/Dream Corps joins Thom. This is the major issue at stake right now in Washington State. It all has to do with a ballot measure that Washington residents will vote on in just two weeks: Initiative 732. If passed - Initiative 732 - or I-732 - would create a $15 per ton tax on carbon - which would then be raised to $25 after one year. To compensate for the costs this tax to working people, I-732 would create - a 1 percent reduction in Washington's sales tax as well as a tax credit of $1,500 for some families on the lower end of the income scale. Sounds pretty good - right? James Hansen - one of the world's leading premier climate scientists thinks so, too -- which is why he's endorsed it. But not everyone thinks Initiatve 732 is such a great idea. Many Washington Sate environmentalists actually oppose the measure and want to kill it on election. Seriously - I'm not kidding. Some enviromentalists oppose a ballot measure that would put in place the first carbon tax in the nation. So is this just a case of making the perfect the enemy of the good - or is there actually a good reason for people who care about stopping climate change to oppose Initiative 732?

Whose Fault Is It? Obamacare Rates Are Going Up...

Hughey Newsome, BOLD.global/Move-On-Up & Ben Wikler, MoveOn.org are on the panel with Thom tonight. Obamacare is in trouble. With just two weeks to go before Election Day - the White House announced Monday that premiums on the healthcare law’s state-level exchanges will increase by an average of 22 percent next year. Premiums on the federal exchanges will jump an average of 25 percent. Yikes…We have two choices here: One, we can either create a public option to inject some real competition into the market place,OR we can work towards single-payer, i.e. Medicare-for-all. Complete repeal is not an option - not when Obamacare is already in place and so many people have benefited and continue to benefit from it. We can - however - use it as baseline to move forward. But are Republicans willing to accept this reality? That’s the question.

Trump Might Be A Bigoted Crypto-Fascist But Sometimes He’s Right...

Sarah Badawi, Progressive Change Campaign Committee & Jasmine Jefferson, Social Security Works join Thom. Parts of Donald Trump's so-called Gettysburg Address from this Saturday sounded like they were lifted straight from an Elizabeth Warren speech. Is his copy and paste version of populism the only thing keeping him remotely in this race? Give Donald Trump some credit: He might be a bigoted crypto-fascist who’s taken the Republican Party to the right of Attila the Hun - but every once in a while he’s 100 percent correct
