Sorry Cons - There Is More Racism (Not Less) By Police

Chauncey DeVega, Salon/The Chauncey DeVega Show joins Thom. Conservative commentators were falling over themselves earlier this week when Harvard Professor Roland G. Fryer Jr. released a study looking at police shootings in 10 American cities. But according to Chauncey DeVega - this study doesn't actually show that police are less racist than people say - it shows that they're PROFOUNDLY racist.

How MBA Programs Drive Inequality

Lynn Stuart Parramore, Evonomics/AlterNet, joins Thom. Former Trump University instructor James Harris told CNN recently that his main job with Trump University wasn't to teach real estate. But according to a recent story at the "Institute for New Economic Thinking" by our next guest titled "How MBA Programs Drive Inequality" - our country's premiere business students aren't learning how to run a business in a way to actually create value.

The Environmental Threat of TTIP Exposed

Ben Beachy, Sierra Club Responsible Trade Program joins Thom. On Monday - a new round of negotiations on the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership began - and a leaked chapter confirms what many of us already knew. This so-called free trade deal would be a disaster for the environment. Some of the environmentally destructive terms in the leaked draft of TTIP include requiring the U.S. and the EU "to eliminate all existing restriction on the export of natural gas in trade" - and obligating the two trade areas to "foster industry self-regulation" of energy efficiency - rather than using legally binding energy efficiency standards.

Rumble - Policing the Police?

Charles Sauer, The Market Institute & Danielle Blevins, Freelance Reporter & Neil McCabe, Breitbart join Thom. In the wake of two more police killings of black men - Americans are once again calling for more scrutiny of law enforcement. In response - President Obama met today at the White House with Black Lives Matter activists and law enforcement officials. Meanwhile - North Carolina's Republican Governor Pat McRory is trying to make it harder for people in his state to hold police accountable. On Monday he signed a bill that would make it much more difficult for the public to get access to police body camera and dash cam footage. Police are public servants with immense power. Why are Republicans so committed to preventing them from undergoing any sort of scrutiny? They're exactly the type of people who we SHOULD be scrutinizing.

Rumble - The GOP Platform Is Like Sarah Palin On Acid

Charles Sauer, The Market Institute & Danielle Blevins, Freelance Reporter & Neil McCabe, Breitbart join Thom. The 2016 Republican platform is officially less in line with what Americans want than was the 1956 Republican platform. Shouldn't conservatives be embarassed that their party has moved backward in pretty much every way? We’re starting to get a clearer picture of the 2016 Republican Platform - and it’s absolutely insane. While this year's Democratic Party Platform is probably the most progressive one in that party’s history - reflecting in every point things supported by between 55 and 90 percent of all Americans - its Republican counterpart can best be described as Sarah Palin on acid.

Bryan Pruitt, RedState & Jasmine Jefferson, Social Security Works & Alex Pfeiffer, The Daily Caller all join Thom. Republicans might still be holding Donald Trump at arm's length - but that isn't stopping them from agreeing on something every conservative can agree on - tax cuts for the rich. While the House Republican tax plan and Trump's tax plan have some differences - they share the same basic emphasis on making America's wealthiest pay less in taxes.
