Austerity

The Republicans ruined the economies of America and Europe with pure greed. The Republican backed Wall Street went wild. Now all the Republicans want to do is "cut expenses", with no tax increases to help out! Europe is heavily into "Austerity" which is driving the unemployment rate higher and higher.

Message to the President about voter suppression

I was listening to the radio the other day and was worrying and wondering what to do about voter suppression. Mike Papantonio was on the air and he made a suggestion for President Obama that he thought would help with voter suppression and at the same time put the Republican Party in a tail spin. I thought what a great idea. I hope people who can get this message to the President where listening, and then I thought I’ll send out some emails or do some postings and see if he can get the message.

Romney's 12 Million Jobs Claim

Today Thom argued that Romney couldn't possibly create 12 million jobs. I was surprised and even a little frustrated that three whole hours went by and Thom didnt get properly fact check as to where the 12 million job claim comes from. There was a calle than did attempt to do so, but apparently did not understand the issue enough to explain it to Thom, so here it is.

From Ezra Klein's column in the washingtonpost:

Do we have a compassionate President?

Hearing yesterday that Gov. Mitt Romney was very compassionate through his Governorship and private life; does anyone know if our President Obama is one and was one while a private citizen too and what did he do?

Thanks for a Right wing free day

Thanks Thom, for one day without a right wing TOOL on. Hopefully, next week will be the progressives turn.

Lies in politics

The practice of blatant and repeated lies in this campaign has baffled me. Thom discussed it in today's introductory remarks. Jason Stanley has posted an opinion in the New York Times that says, essentially, that the public no longer has an expectation of truth-telling in campaigns and holds no one accountable. Has anybody else read the article (Speech, Lies and Apathy, August 30, 2012, NYT). Sounded like he was saying that lying is acceptable in reaching the goals set by the campaign, factcheckers notwithstanding.

How our republic could die in the age of Trump - in a stunning parallel to the fall of Rome

Thom plus logo The American republic could die, just like Rome. Wavering for some time on the verge of becoming a complete oligarchy, America is on the verge of flipping from a democratic republic to a strongman or autocratic form of government, something that's happened to dozens of democracies in the past few decades, but never before here.
