This Tea Party movement seems like the modern day version of the BUSINESS PLOT, just instead of using a decorated Marine (Smedley Butler) as the spearhead, the corporations have enlisted the American people themselves, shotgun style.
Control of most of the major media makes this action fairly easy.

@mstaggerlee - re postal bank
I'm aware of the movement to switch business from the major banks to local small banks. I have no idea if that's a better plan than resurrecting the Postal Bank.It's possible that it is and it's possible that it isn't, unless you know better than I do. It's also possible that the two options could be complementary to each other. When the Postal Bank was in existence, it wasn't the only bank around. Is your opinion based on any particular knowledge?

@Mr. Doh! State Banks are an alternative to the old Postal Bank which went out in the 60s when the Postal Service was made a public corporation. North Dakota has one and Oregon may get one soon...

@Maxbot: No NO No. Environmentalists don't harm people; they put sugar in gas tanks and occasionally burn inanimate objects. Terrorism involves hurting or threatening people, despite the calls of authoritarian conservatives and their media.

common sense says there must be a balance in everything in life. our government must keep the balance of being for all citizens poor and rich. the economics of milton friedman has no balance it gave corporations free reign to do what ever it wanted to create profit. friedman stated that corporation have no responsibillity to no one but to create profit.

I believe the clinics Bernie was talking about are called FQHC Federally-Qualified Health Clinics,which seem to be really effective. We.ve had them in Austin for 10 years.

@ Meet John Doe - my opinion is based on the idea that community banks and credit unions put YOUR money to work in YOUR area - and what could be better for your community than to have more of its citizen's capital remain the region, and less of it going to the Postal Service or Wall Street ?

Sigh . . . The folks calling themselves Palestinians have the right to declare themselves a sovereign nation and live on dirt they call their own simply by accepting the very same United Nations Resolution, passed on November 29, 1947 and enacted on May 14, 1948 that created the State of Israel . . .
BUT when it is more important for that group of folk to hate other folk instead of gaining sovereign control of their own home-land . . . The Leadership of those folk avoid doing what is best for their people.

If I were living in the states, I'd love to go buy a Nascar t-shirt and baseball cap and make some bad pun protest sign against Obama or healthcare or something, and head down to a TparT protest and just kinda nudge people and whisper "How much are they paing YOU to do this?"
One, you'd freak out the real deals, and two, you might actually find some paid protesters.
