No, you would be a "natural born" citizen if you are the child of a citizen and return to the US at some point and establish legal residency - Just like John McCain who was born to a US citizen at a hospital in Colon, Panama outside the US Canal Zone.
@Blue Mark, so by what you're saying, even if Obama was born in Kenya, or Timbuktu, so long as his American mother gave birth to him, and he returned to America, he is considered a "Naturalized Citizen"? If this is so, why doesn't someone point out the the birthers that their premise that he is not a naturalized citizen is completely bogus to begin with because its not where he was born, so much as it is who gave birth to him; that location of birth is just secondary?
I must be missing something here.

@Gerald -
It seems to me that your medical issues are, quite naturally, having an effect upon your outlook on life. I do not doubt that your situation is indeed hellish. However, I can no longer sit idle and silent in the face of your rants that America is Hell. This offends me, personally, and I beieve that I'm not the only one here who is offended by these assertions.
I get that your situation seems hopeless, and that this colors all of your feelings and views. But spreading hoplessness is ultimately destructive. You may feel that the messages of hope that others try to spread is false, and that false hope is also, to some extent, destructive.
America is STILL the best idea anyone ever had for how to run a nation, Gerald. We're a comparitively young nation, and still trying to figure out how to make it all work. I cannot accept that we have to tear it all down and start anew, down a different road. I agree that we've veered off-course recently, but I still have to believe that course correction is possible without completely tearing up the road we've already travelled. There has to be a way that we can continue forward, taking a few intellegent turns, and get ourselves back on a sane course once again.
Have you read Thom's book, "Cracking the Code", Gerald? Your use of the term "The United States of Hell" amounts to simple name-calling, and as such is NOT an effective means of advancing your argument.
@mstaggerlee, so are you signed up for church on Sunday or Saturday? You're free to choose you know. ;-)

If I remember correctly, Senator McCain was born in a civilian hospital, in Colon (?), not on the military base. His father the Admiral did not want him mixing with the hoi polloi enlisted men. If that is the case, he's less of a citizen than President Obama. Why aren't the birthers up in arms over this?

Did Bill Halter export jobs to India?

@Nels - I was born Jewish, and currently hover somewhere between Agnosticism and Bhuddist/Hindu teachings. I can be dragged into a church or synagogue for a wedding or a funeral. In order to get me into such a venue on a weekly basis, you'd have to put me into a coma and push me inside in a wheelchair.
@trinkelson - Maybe because McCain's white, and Obama's not?

@maxrot:
@Blue Mark, so by what you're saying, even if Obama was born in Kenya, or Timbuktu, so long as his American mother gave birth to him, and he returned to America, he is considered a "Naturalized Citizen"?
Yes, he is a "citizen", but not "naturalized", he is "natural born" just like anyone born in the United States.
If this is so, why doesn't someone point out the the birthers that their premise that he is not a naturalized citizen is completely bogus to begin with because its not where he was born, so much as it is who gave birth to him; that location of birth is just secondary?
Because birthers are immune to information, the more you prove them wrong the more strongly they believe the untruth. This is a psychological concept called "The Backfire Effect".
Read about it (and listen) here: http://bluehorde.blogspot.com/2008/09/why-they-lie.html
@Blue Mark, I understand that Birthers are immune to information, but frankly, if in the interviews that they do for the media, that point was brought up everytime, then even though they may remain entrenched in their belief; I believe fewer and fewer people would bother to listen to them until such interviews would become worthless and then would stop.
Oops I guess I just answered my own question... ratings rule.

@mstaggerlee, gee wilikers, I don't know nothing about dem furen religions, so I'll put a check mark next to the "Wheelchair" option. This will require a tube for force feeding the Eucharist wafer (that's the white cracker thingy).
Now then will you be wanting to be parked in the 'I'm saved' section, or 'I'm a sinner' section? Again, your free to chose, but considering your condition, the 'I'm holier then thou' section is off limits.

Just the fact that anyone thinks that Obama was is not a US citizen is a bit scarry. This has been driven into the brains of a large part of our population by Faux Fucking Noise, better known as the birth place for the hatred of the working class. I'm not too sure, it's almost too late. The senators and the conrgessmen are already owned by the corporations. Yes, I know there are a few good men, sounds like a BS title for a movie. The Tea Partiers don't even know that they are being organized by the same corporations that own everything. I still have hope.

@Nels - I freely and willingly admit that I ain't hoiler than nobody.
Assuming that (against my will) I will be made to participate in all this foolishness, y'all can push my wheelchair into whatever section has the most available space.

@moonbat, re: I still have hope.
... and I applaud you for it, even if Gerald thinks you are a misguided fool.
@mstaggerlee, so you'll be wanting the, 'I'm just a Church member without an opinion' section, bunch of dust in cobwebs way back there.
N
@mstaggerlee, all kidding aside. I believe gerald's heart is in the right place, but I have to agree with you that he seems to believe that vinegar is better than honey when trying to catch flies.
N

@mstaggerlee, thank you for your thoughts! Since we are a young fart of a nation, we have not experienced what the old farts of nations have endured - France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, etc. A young fart, like the United States of Hell, can learn a great deal from the previous old fart nations. Thom has shared with us what great things these other countries do for their people. In this case lod farts are great models for our hell-hole nation to emulate.

@mstaggerlee, I do not believe that people who disagree with me are fools. I applaud dialogue, rational dialogue. People will believe what they want to believe.
A former supervisor said that people will get what they deserve. If we vote for crooks, we will have a corrupt government.
These southern states seem to love the oil spill. It is my perceptual opinion that they love being surrounded by garbage.
@gerald, I think the Southern States love the Spill today, because the real consequences have yet to come ashore (so to speak, pun intended). As the crude begins to strangle and choke their coastline, they'll scream bloody murder... at the Democrats in government, they will blame them happily. The good citizens of the region are all too happy to direct their anger at the same people every time an issue comes up. Facts are not relevant, they already have their side chosen, and come hell or high water (pun intended again), they'll always blame the left.
N
@trinkleson, like Thom said, McCain is white. therefore, no questions asked
@harry, and lets not forget, he's not in any position of real power now. He'll be lucky to hold onto his seat in the Senate. If he loses that, the only collective memory of McCain will be related to the Palin scourge he helped to bring about.

Hawaii = Not in the United States.....(grin)... So the REAL Hawaiian want their back rent!!!!!
My sister was born within one month of Obama in Hawaii, only in a military hospital. Her birth certificate is almost identical (name etc changed)....CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH
Fasinating Google Search feature I didn't know existed. Do you want to see what people anywhere are saying about any topic?
Go to the Google home page, type in your topic in the search box, then at just below the search box there is a caption WEB +Show Options. Click on the + sign there. On the left side in the second group click on latest. Your search engine starts updating with information about topic as the info comes into Google. Lots of twitter comments from average citizens. Gives an interesting take on what people are saying. Also different sites that are writing on a topic will appear.
Found this while checking into BP oil spill... becoming quickly addicted. Thought I'd share this discovery with all here.

The lady that called in about her Birth Certificate and how it was created by the Department of Commerce and the US Census was onto something. It's like you took the pill and went into the Matrix for real as it's pointed out in this article. This is a GREAT read with all info on who you are to the government.
http://www.dherbs.com/articles/birth-certificate-274.html
You will look at all that's happening and understand but most likely like in the movie The Matrix it's too late.
http://www.dherbs.com/articles/birth-certificate-274.html
How did we get to this point? Maybe if Thom can do some research we can get a better understanding or maybe Thom shouldn't explore more because who knows what he'll find and who will try to stop him.
http://www.dherbs.com/articles/birth-certificate-274.html
I want to know what everyone thinks about this. Thanks

@Maxrot, these are the same people who oppose government until they need government.

Regarding Obama's Birth Certificate, FactCheck.org says "FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said."
