re: #50: I never got the chance to ask an expert about the mica.

@Jeanie, re: Wouldn't we get involved if we thought something going on in another country might wind up killing our citizens?
I guess so - wasn't that the rationale behind US "involvement" Afghanistan and Iraq?
WOW- well if they were in between the stones they were not exposed to the sun then.....what is the type of stone that the pyramids were made of- sand stone?
re: #54, no, the mica covered the whole cap, but looters stole it, just remnants were recovered between the stones.
I heard on NPR earlier that Kevin Costner and his water cleaning process is being engaged in the gulf
re: #56 "Dances with Molecules"
Ira needs to go to a patent lawyer. Although Coca Cola s patent is still pending, for good reason.
So if we pretend that the safety of our citizens is at risk and this gives us some right to pre-emptively attack another country, I think other countries have the right to do the same to us and kick BP (and us) out of the way and take over the oil capping operations.
petrochemical products, like latex, disintegrate if exposed to petroleum
@#55 Wow- that's excitng Harry. Thx for the tip. That will be a great reserach topic for me for my new solar column in the EXAMINER. if you think of anything else, please let me know!
Thom, Regarding the caller who disagreed with you in ALL CAPS:
When you were getting talked over by Kreutzer you stated that there is an assumption that that there folk in America would be okay with the continuing aggression in Afghanistan because they did not see non-white, non-protestants as humans. I do not remember you assigning a percentage or saying that a majority of folk fit this category BUT I believe that is what he misinterpreted.
re: #61, yer welcome! One more tip: Whenever you go to the sun, go at night!

@Jeanie, re: #59 - You seem to assume that there's another government on this planet who knows how to handle this. This is a whole new animal, Jeanie - it's the deepest, highest-pressure well that's ever gone rogue. BP lied to everybody (the gov't, their own contractors, etc.) about how deep they had to drill to hit this well in the first place. There may be a lot of educated guesses about what to do, but nobody can really claim to KNOW what to do ... it's ALL guesswork at this point!
To state the same thing in a different way, if there was ANYBODY who really knew how to handle this nightmare-well, the bugger would've been plugged before April turned into May.
Plug-a-bugger Plug-a-bugger Plug-a-bugger, cha cha cha!

Obama Pigeon Alert: Pres. Obama's speech reminded me of one of my favorite Abraham Lincoln quotes: The speech wasn't "as thin as the homeopathic soup that was made by boiling the shadow of a pigeon that had starved to death," but it was pretty darned close.
