New Republican Healthcare Plan Is So Bad That Even Republicans Don't Want It

Republicans inched closer to a deal on repealing Obamacare yesterday, as the House Freedom caucus OK'd a new version of the American Health Care Act which is actually worse than the one that couldn't pass Congress back in March.
This new version of Trumpcare is worse because it does away with the best parts of Obamacare: the part that bans insurance companies jacking up premiums on people with pre-existing conditions, and the part that requires every insurance plan to meet a minimum standard of coverage (for example, it has to cover things like hospital visits, birth control, and maternity care).
Under the new house Republican plan, states could simply opt out of those requirements.
GOP lawmakers, on the other hand, would be exempt from these changes.
In other words - they'd get to keep their current Obamacare plans with all the protections intact, while everyone else would be left with their crappy Trumpcare plans.
So it turns out that this Republican healthcare plan is so bad that even Republicans don't want to have to deal with it.
Shouldn't we just be going for single payer?

OMG!!! The "Moonie" Times? Richard Berman (AKA Dr. Evil)? "Employee Rights Act?" "Right to Work" legislation?
Aha, it all adds up now. Get thee behind me, troll!
Aye, matey -- s'cuse me whilst I pick at me scabs...

There is no doubt that many male blue collar workers did not want Hillary and would vote even against their own best interest for anyone else. They ignored her experience. They did not like the fact that she was a woman and most important did not like her cackle. But the Union Organizations endorsed her dramatically as can be seen in the above links. When Union members vote against their Union you might as well shut it down and go home. You have destroyed what Unions are for. What really got Trump elected is the 1% owned and operated mainstream media putting him on the air almost constantly. Way more press coverage than any other candiadate.

Legend,
It does my heart good to see just how dumb you washed up lefties are. A union endorsement means nothing, if the rank and file ignore it. What's occurring today in the Unions is an organic movement. The new generation of union members are sick and tired of washed up lefties running the Unions. A big change is in the works. Don't believe me just watch....today is May 2, 2017...come back May 2, 2018 and tell me what you see.

Ou812 (#28): "You washed up lefties lost most of the rank and file union members in the last election."
True or untrue?
"The new generation of union members are sick and tired of washed up lefties running the Unions" OU812 5/2/17
Good luck with right wing billionaires running your Unions. You and Dianereyenolds are so far off base I really have to question your motives. Both of you do not post facts but are generous in childish insults. Intelligent posting seem to be impossible for the 2 of you.

Legend:
"Intelligent posting seem to be impossible for the 2 of you."
I agree, I have to dumb everything down for you washed up lefties.

Oh, okay; I see it now. You are just pretending to be dumb. Wow, you certainly are a good actor -- fooled everyone on the site!
Sooo, is it also part of the act, then, not to answer easy, straightforward questions about your own points and to misread your own sources? Cause ya sure got that dummy bit nailed down pretty damn good there, hotdog lady! You should audition for SNL.
I'm curious though; if it's such a pain to post, why do you keep coming back? It's the same question that I've recently asked your other moniker, Dianereynolds. Enquiring minds want to know.
FYI, (take it or leave it advice) the Central Committee for "Sh*t to F*cking Understand" (STFU) has requested that you and your other self please come up with more imaginative and varied insults that have some pizzazz. It's not that your verbal tics hurt anyone's feelings; quite the opposite, they induce long bouts of yawning, which only hurt the jawbone, and shaking of the head in sympathy, which puts a crick in the neck.
Moniker #1 (Dianereynolds): "leftie/socialists ...leftie/socialists ...leftie/socialists" ...ad infinitum.
Moniker #2 (Ou812): "washed up lefties ...washed up lefties ...washed up lefties" ... ad nauseam.
...e-v-e-r-y f-*-c-k-i-n-g p-o-s-t ! ...b-o-r-i-n-g !
Plus, they really are juvenile and lame. (Unless that's part of your act, too.) Even grade-school taunts are more vitriolic. I mean, it's like saying "oh poop" when you just cut off half of your gawddamn foot with a chainsaw. You want to scream at the top of your lungs, "f******ck!!! Oh f*ck, oh f*ck, oh f*ck," while hopping around tripping over stumps. Panty-waist expressions, such as "washed up lefties," just don't cut it for expressing those deep-down feelings of hurt and rage that are struggling to get out.
C'mon, Teach, Granny, or whoever, I know you can do it -- let it all out! Don't be so proper and predictable and lifeless and ...yaaawwwn.... you know, "conservative." Put your soul into it! You would be so much more effective as a right-wing troll.
And the stupidity thing -- that's good; keep it up. It matches your Republican avatar very nicely.
Anyway, STFU wanted me to relay that message to all of your various selves, wherever they might crop up.
It is another bright sunny Christmas morning thanks to your washed up leftie/socialist post. The only thing greater is when you bloviate and dump your paragraphs of carefully collected adjectives on President Trump.
After taking your Xanax and drinking a bottle of Pepto Bismol would you kindly spend a few hours today composing my gift for tomorrow?
My neverending thanks once again Mr. Ed and have a nice day!
Winning in 2018
I believe that the single most important issue Democrats should push is Medicare for all. With this current, horrific health care debacle, now is the PERFECT time to yell it from the rooftops. Everyone loves Medicare - even the Republicans (except in Congress) and people are afraid of losing it, and rightly so. It should be scored, and the pitch shoud be: if your income is 1/2 million, your taxes would go up this much: over a million this much etc etc. Give the figures and stress that if you pay a very small increase - you will never have to deal with insurance companies again! Forget the words single payer and Obamacare. Medicare is the buzz word and it is a sure winner. HEALTHCARE is a RIGHT!! Don't ask if people beieve that, make it a statement of fact. Keep repeating. Lois G

@ Lois Grandi:
Yes! Healthcare is a right! Medicare for all! It absolutely is the single, most important issue that Democrats can run on to wrest the people's government back from these murderous monsters. It's a sure winner for those on the right side of history and a sure loser for Republicans.
Right now is the perfect opportunity to reframe the narrative, while the wingnuts are tripping all over their foolish selves. With summer recesses and town halls fast approaching, Democratic leadership better start taking Bernie seriously and mobilize all of their resources. It would be an utter disaster to misread the populace mood of the electorate a second time, so soon after their historic defeat.
Key word, KISS (keep it simple, stupid), and shout it out loudly and often. Good points all. Thank you!

@ Granny/Hotdog Lady:
Naw, sorry, just not there yet, not quite lively and insulting enough. A little more lengthy and fleshed out than the usual tripe perhaps, but, frankly, your broken-record reflex response of overused expressions still sound flat and, well, overused -- just no zing left in the old zinger, so to speak. No worries, it happens to everyone as they age.
Keep struggling with it though, and eventually (if brain plaque doesn't eat too far into the cortex, god forbid) hurling peppy insults at your neighbors over the virtual backyard fense will become second nature, flying off those boney fingertips in no time at all. Sometimes a prop can help rekindle the fire and get your blood boiling again -- maybe a big, framed portrait of Hillary above your monitor smiling down at you.
It seems to ve very effective in your case.
Forget your own words?
Mr. Ed sez, “You're not Mommy the Monitor. This is a free-speech zone, so post as much or as little as your black heart desires. If you can't handle my politically incorrect posts, then don't read them and don't respond.”

There ya go again, projecting your own hypocrisy and paranoid psychology onto others, twisting reality into a pretzel to match your delusions, which is typical modus operandi for virtually every far-right Republican under the spell of Trump the liar and pervert. If you really are such a champion of free speech, tweet your Pussy Grabber in Chief -- he's the only one seriously working to restrict it.
You go, girl! I'm impressed and heartened that you wasted so much of this gorgeous day holed up in the basement researching dead archives to study what I've written. As a consequence, you must feel so much wiser, if that's even possible given your condition. Don't stop now, though; follow through by actually attempting to comprehend the material, before your lucidity slips away again, which seems to be increasing in frequency.
Obviously, everyone has a right to say whatever they want; however, everyone else also has that same right to respond and critique, or not, however they may choose. Please explain how, in your twisted logic, criticism of a person's speech -- which you do in 100 percent of your posts as a troll on a liberal blog -- is a violation of that person's right to free speech. (???) Don't explain it to me; explain it to yourself. If you ever do figure it out, you might also explain it to Big Daddy Trump, playing with his, um, twitter.
Myself, I would never suggest that anyone should not freely express themselves as much and as long as they so desire. That's your shtick, Granny/Hot Dog Lady. Quite the opposite, I am merely, and evidently futilely, offering in good faith and humor, albeit a bit harsh, some positive feedback and the tried and true techniques that are offered in any English Comp.101 course to help your two monikers improve their similar styles (suspiciously, a little too similar maybe?), so that they don't sound so predictable and boring. I only serve to enlighten darkened minds.
Forever, your humble guide.

@Ou812 (#46)
Now... you are an employee of "one of the top ten school systems in the USA". Is that supposed to be an indicator of your credibility and knowledge? Is that supposed to somehow make you "special"?
Really! Are you so arrogant to think that people will trust any fact you put forth? I mean it's not like I have to get dressed and go to the library to factcheck what you claim. As it turns out... your claim does reflect on your credibility: Your school district is ranked at #725 nationally. SAD!
You said to Legend, "I could care less what you believe" (#44). Apparently... you somewhat care what Legend believes. I say to you "I couldn't care less what you think".
Ok, so where to begin...first, let me say that as soon as republicans achieve any of their campaign promises, they become villains. A man chatted with me at work recently and told me anyone could go to an emergency room and receive medical care. I retorted that 22 years ago I underwent "elective" brain surgery to save my life. No one walking into an ER w/o insurance would still be alive today. He said nothing more.
We have to TALK to these people. We can't shut up. I live in GA, so they're always popping off to me about their views but are suddenly offended when I offer my own...it does not stop me and never will. That first amendment means more than our flag ever will. It is our duty to not shut up just because our views are not "popular."
Minds get changed this way. My parents live in Ossoff's potential district. Fingers crossed. They came home from their idylic life at the beach (or mountains?) to vote for him. They live in the oh so red area. It is their duty. It is each and every citizen's DUTY to vote so things like this aren't left to the electoral college, which just failed its first real test miserably.
They also have taught me that PAYING TAXES IS OUR DUTY AS PATRIOTS. We must support the nation we hold so very dear. Republicans, I recommend you cease your lapel flag pin wearing before you get stabbed by the pin...
Lastly, let me add that as soon as republicans achieve ANYTHING they advise, the public sours on it immediately. As the research paper writer says, "We are spoiled Americans." You can't take anything from us without a fight. So abortion illegal? You own all those dead young women in back alleys with no baby to show for your trouble.Take away prescription drug coverage from seniors? Reap the whirlwind. Deny me insurance coverage and allow me to die of a preventable cause? Gain a popular storm that will make FDR seem like a fever dream. Get greedy at your own peril, republicans. Democracy is refreshed by the blood of patriots and they may not be who you're expecting.
