Rumble: Iceland Is Sending Banksters To Jail - Hello?? America

Patrick Hedger, American Encore & Horace Cooper, National Center for Public Policy Research & Kymone Freeman, We Act Radio/Black Lives Matter DC join Thom. It's now been seven years after the 2007-2008 financial crisis - and the government still hasn't sent one executive from any one of the big banks to jail for their role in the biggest financial meltdown since the Great Depression. But that's not the case in Iceland. The Supreme Court of Iceland has just sentenced 5 bank executives to jail for the role in the meltdown that wrecked Iceland's economy back in 2008. The sentence brings the total number of bank executives sent to jail since the crisis to 26. Combined - these bankers are set to spend a total of 74 years in prison.

Rumble: GOP - Have You No Decency?

Patrick Hedger, American Encore & Horace Cooper, National Center for Public Policy Research & Kymone Freeman, We Act Radio/Black Lives Matter DC join Thom. The entire day was like the moment Joseph Welch called Senator Joe McCarthy out for having no decency - and put McCarthyism out to pasture once and for all. If the Benghazi hearings were Hillary Clinton’s McCarthy hearings - then yesterday was her Joseph Welch moment. If Republicans had a do-over button - they’d probably want to press it right about now

The Prosecution of Hillary Clinton

Karl Frisch, Syndicated Columnist/Political Strategist & Mike Lux, Democracy Partners/The Progressive Revolution: How The Best In America Came To Be all join Thom. If you've been paying attention to the Benghazi "scandal" from the beginning - you probably didn't hear anything new today. And that's the point. What we saw today wasn't about getting to the bottom of a controversy 7 previous committees have looked at - it was about smearing Hillary Clinton - the Democratic frontrunner for president.

Why Doesn't the DEA Go After Big Pharma On Opiates?

John Temple, Reed College of Media-West Virginia University/American Pain: How a Young Felon and His Team of Doctors Unleashed America's Deadliest Drug Epidemic joins Thom.

Why Does Gov Support Charter Schools?

Lisa Graves, Center for Media and Democracy joins Thom. The Center for Media and Democracy found that over the past 20 years the federal government has sent over 3.3 billion dollars to the charter school industry with virtually no accountability. The report noted also that the federal government doesn't have a comprehensive list of the charter schools that have received or spent the funds. And what's really interesting is that the largest part of the grant - 71 million dollars - is earmarked to go to Ohio. Ohio has a record with charter schools so bad that former governor Ted Strickland wrote to Arne Duncan to urge him to reconsider - calling Ohio's charter schools "an embarrassment" So what's going on here - how is this money being spent? And why has there been so little oversight?

Time To Return to "Radical" Socialist Policies

The Wall Street Journal wants you to be scared of Bernie Sanders' "radical" socialist tax plan. But that's only because they're trying to repackage Reagan's disastrous "trickle-down” economics.

The Benghazi Hoax

Ari Rabin-Havt, -The Agenda/SiriusXM Progress (ch.127)/The Benghazi Hoax & Neil McCabe, One America News Network all join Thom. Also... 20 million dollars and 11 months later - and the Select Committee on Benghazi is finally going to hear Hillary Clinton's testimony. But will tomorrow be the end of this political dog and pony show - or will this be new fodder for the Republican smear machine?

How WE Can Save the Planet

Margaret Klein Salamon PhD,, The Climate Mobilization, joins Thom. If you turn on Fox so-called News at any point on any day of the week - you're probably going to hear one of its pundits go on and on about how green energy is nothing but a waste of money. That pundit will probably also say something about how global warming is a myth and that fossil fuels are a great source of wealth. Such is the world of Fox So-Called News. But here's the thing - contrary to what you might hear on the right-wing media - fighting global warming and transitioning to renewable energy isn't bad for the economy. Far from it. According to a new report from the Labor Network for Sustainability - 350.org - and Synapse Energy Economics - fighting global warming and moving towards a renewable energy sector would actually be good for the economy. And I mean really good. The group has put together a plan that it says will reduce greenhouse gasses by 80 percent by 2050 and create 500,000 jobs every year. But is this plan enough to hold off total climate devastation?
