Alex Lawson, Social Security Works & Sarah Badawi, Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) join Thom. Plus Special Panel Guest - Patty Lovera, Food & Water Watch. The Department of Justice is launching an investigation into the Dole Food company - one of the world's largest processors of fresh produce. The DOJ is investigating based on a report from the Food and Drug Administration - that shows that it endangered its customers for more than a year with their salad products. The report shows that products in a Springfield Ohio processing plant tested positive for listeria nine times before FDA inspectors showed up to do a test in January. Four people have died and 33 people have been hospitalized for listeria as part of this outbreak across the United States and Canada since as early as March 2014 - and it's unlikely that Dole ever would have come clean about the contamination if FDA inspectors hadn't shown up.
