Kend ~ Is that supposed to be sarcastic? Oh, boo hoo! You don't think running a profitable company is a privilege? You don't like being a success? At least you're not filing bankruptcy, sitting in the unemployment line, or maybe standing on a street corner holding a cardboard sign. Why not just cash in the business while you're still ahead and let someone else deal with the headache? You can't tell me that when all is said and done and you take your piece of the action that your income is going to be equal or less than your employees... If it is, then you really need to get your head examined. I got dinged pretty hard too this year; but, you don't hear me crying about it. However, don't let me discourage your whining... I get a big kick out of it! If I only had some sad violin music...
Oh well, it's not the same thing; but, I guess I'll just have to settle for Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein." Kinda suits you anyway...

Palin, your similar thoughts did not escape my notice. As a cannabis connoisseur of long standing, I get pretty emotional about this drug testing thing, despite my own success (or dumb luck) in avoiding it. Guess I was on a roll, ole buddy. My apologies.
By the way Palin, Marc is right; it's "Break on through to the other side".
Jim Morrison always did have this love affair with death. I don't believe he ever intended to leave this world as an old, feeble man. He was much too vain for that.
Yeah, Morrison was immensely talented and a helluva performing artist. Being such a gorgeous, statuesque male specimen never hurts in that line of business. But Ray Manzarek's keyboard playing was my wet dream. An aspiring young keyboard artist myself, I always had this thing for bands with great keyboards. Manzarek's style is so uniquely his own, so brilliant and innovative. In strictly musical terms, Manzarek's keyboards were as prominent to the Doors' sound as Morrison's vocals.
At any rate, I imagine Jim Morrison would've gone ballistic had anyone tried making him pee in a cup. Aside from being the Doors' heartthrob and sex symbol (let alone his great lyric writing and vocals), that guy had the heart of a warrior. I could see ole Jim aiming his golden stream in the face of whoever tried handing him that cup. He was a fighter who knew who the real enemy was (and is). That's what resonates with me about Jim Morrison. In the music buiz of yesteryear, gorgeous looking men were a dime a dozen. Jim Morrison was a political animal through and through, and could smell a fascist a mile away. You can bet that even in heaven, ole Jim's still raising hell... - Alice I.W.
Ok Marc I will complain. The union is on strike at the port and my containers are going to be late. By the why the $39,000 was just business taxes, compensation payments and monthly business fees etc I haven't made anything yet. Income tax comes Later. Those fees are just for the privilege of being in business. Woo luckey me.

Funny Marc that I remembered to send a check for over $39,000.00 for taxes today to pay for all the stupid Liberal programs that our government came up with.
The neat thing is I am the one with Alzheimer's. Just think how many people I could of created jobs for if I was healthy. Maybe I could have done even better and sent hundreds of thousands in taxes to support more green energy failures. Or maybe some really great art for the freeway. Why am I the bad guy? i just work hard and pay my taxes.
Kend ~ You don't have any bills or you don't remember receiving any bills. Alzheimer's can be tricky you know. Most victims are sure they know what is going on when they haven't a clue. Eventually, you don't even remember that the house you are in is your house. You forget how to use the bathroom and even how to eat. Get yourself checked out.
Wow Loren, what a crushingly poignant omen embodied in your stillborn son. Did those thoughts occur to you at the time, or shortly thereafter? Regardless, I send way-past-due but heartfelt condolences to you; not only for the loss but for the shock and trauma that experience must have entailed. Having never carried a pregnancy to term, I can only try to imagine what that must have been like for the two of you.
As for those One-Percenters, regarding any advantages they might "enjoy" when the shit hits the fan, me thinks the joke's on them. Their only "advantage" will be the "privilege" of outliving the rest of humanity… but only for a miserable, brief interlude before the jig's up for them. They'll have the "pleasure" of watching what they've got to look forward to themselves, witnessing everyone else's demise first. Being the last to perish… hardly an enviable fate!
I've seen that "goddess" bumper sticker many times, by the way. Always makes me smile.
Capitalism is the nail in humanity's coffin. Perhaps a small group of billionaires will manage to escape to another planet where they can continue plundering and trashing everything in their path. Frankly, I'd rather stay with Planet Earth, for better or worse.
What's a billionaire to do when there's no one left to scrub their toilets and cook their food? I imagine that could make one mighty cranky. (Now THAT's one drama I wouldn't mind witnessing, just for laughs!)

Marc I can't believe that thom and you keep repeating the austerity things over and over there is no austerity. shouldnt you be asking where the hell all your hard earned tax dollars are going. A trillion in debt a year. No new bridges, roads, no space program, nothing. Oh sorry you have lots of failed green energy companies. you have free birth control, evrryone gets a cell phone. You still have12% of you with no jobs. But at least you still hate the rich. Obama has done a great job of that. Your politictions are are getting rich I guess. Al gore is doing ok. I don't need to get checked out both my company and my personal life have balanced budgets. I don't need anyone to pay my bills thank you very much.
Define "Debt". Please don't use the definition of debt for a non-monetarily sovereign entity like a "family budget" because the Federal Government budget is not like a "family budget".
Thom: You know The USA is monetarily sovereign (I learned that from you!) and the creator of all dollars. Taxes paid to the Federal Gov't are not used by The Federal Government to pay its bills. These taxes are dollars removed from the economy never to be used again. The Federal "deficit" is merely the difference between the dollars the Government creates, when it pays its bills, and the taxes that are paid and then removed from the economy. In other words, The Federal Gov't will created $3.77 trillion in FY'13 when it paid its bills - required by the Budget - and remove $3.03 trillion from the economy - when taxes are paid. The "deficit" only added approximately $700 billion to the economy. We need to educate the people of America to understand this basic financial concept used by The Federal Goverment.

I saw a car today that had written in big bold letters something like: "We have a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws". I think that may have come from MLK.
I like the idea of pecking out the eyes of the elephant who tramples on all of us little birdies. Eventually, they will steer clear and stop being so arrogant and selfish.

I really don't get why more working people aren't scorching the intrays of these obstructive and destructive Republicans and telling them to start governing rather than blocking. The Republicans are the biggest stumbling block to the nation getting back on its feet. They're doing it deliberately and trying to pass off their blockade as Democratic ineffectiveness.
The only reason I can see that the Republicans continue to get away with this Attack On America is the number of people brainwashed by Fox News into supporting it. I think Obama could do himself and the nation a favor by bringing back the "truth in news" laws. Fox "News" must be stopped from passing off opinion as "News". Freedom of speech has been blatantly and systematically abused by Murdoch and the shock jocks. It's time it stopped.

Paul Ryan can dismiss the will of the vast majority and road to prosperity all he wants. He's holding his, "Roadmap for America," upside down, and still can't figure out that's why he's heading in the wrong direction......... down the austerity highway to hell!
