That's why we either need new laws or new applications for existing ones. This an unforseen circumstance not specificly provided for in the origional language of the constitution, although I think it applies even to this.
Boy, Kend, you'll say anything for your shilling fee. Fascism and socialism couldn't be more opposed. Are you poor Canadians suffering and oppressed because you are "forced" to enjoy universal healthcare?
I voted for Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney every time but I fell for the charm and smarm. Anybody who votes for him now only does because of the poor choices we have offered us. I knew he wouldn't keep a single campaign promise when he appointed Rahm Emmanuel chief of staff. That's DLC, Republican Lite.
Republicans, not Democrats, refused stimulus money which had funds for infrastructure projects and the jobs/infrastructure bill House Republicans wouldn't even listen to - even when Obama broke it up into its componant parts and tried to pass each one individually. We are on "the course we are on" because of Republican obstructionism.
But you knew that Kend, you're just a fraud. Nobody can be that dumb.
I am thinking - if the job creators fulfilled their part of the social contract - using their tax cuts to create jobs - the unemployment rate would not be so high - we would welcome workers coming into the country because of the high demand for workers.
HOWEVER, the job creators are hoarding their money in tax havens - because they believe rich people should not be required to pay taxes - thats only for the middle class.
THE job creators also invest their money and investing does not create jobs.
JOB creators do not create jobs. CONSUMERS who buy - creates demand - and demand creates more products being built by workers who build the products.
WW I and now.. Harold Nicholson, who wrote the prologue to the The Congress of Vienna said (in paraphrase:) "History is a kaleidescope....situations make look the same but that does not mean the same results or events will transpire" *He was also the head of MI 5 during WWII.
Alice and Chuck well at least you would be spied on with a good economy. You have to admit the course you are on isn't working. You would think after spending 6 trillion dollars you would have at least have one bridge or a new highway somewhere to brag about. Instead you just have trillion more in debt. i guess everyone has a cell phone though. Hang in there things can only get better.
Spoke to u last week about our calling US Senators and unemployment extension. I worked for Ralph and Rocky...and am also a newly retired US History teacher from NYC and a Navy veteran
DON'T USE THE WAR WORD!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!! that's how they can get started. Each new generation doesn't remember or recognize the previous one's travails and problems,,, WAR is an intoxicating, "do it all at once, get it over with" suggestion, the war contractors love it...
Quote Palindromedary:And I hear Anthem Blue Cross is pulling a sneaky...pulling out of Obamacare while advertizing that... "Obamacare requires you to be covered by a certain date...so hurry and sign up with Anthem Blue Cross now"!
Palindromedary ~ Yeah, that's for sure. I got one of those letters. They're sending them out at random--just like mortgage companies tele-market. I got mine just after signing up for a new policy. It was obvious. I was very lucky. The letter looked quite legit. I'm getting really fed up with all the BS and con artists out there. We are only as good as we regulate ourselves.
About a question on KXY pipe manufacturing asked on TV show on Feb. 19, Wednesday
I watch Cspan regularly, particularly Washington Journal in the AM. Anyway.. some months back.. possibly over a year ago, I saw the Congressman who represents the Pittsburg district, I believe his name is Mike Doyle.. speaking on the House Floor, saying he wished that some STEEL manufacturer in the USA had had a CHANCE to BID on that steel pipe for the KXL. According to Representative Doyle, ALL PIPE is being manufactured in Russia and India, and the steel is from India. You can call Rep Doyle for more info.
I think it is sad people are left without health assistance. I believe the health system in northern European countries is far more compassionate.
I have a friend who can't get insurance for the simple reason that she hasn't been in the country 5 years yet, she has only a part-time job so can't afford the premiums and can't find suitable full-time work; she's 65 and she doesn't know what to do about this ACA.
If we had a free press, how would reporters function with government monitoring of their phones, email traffic, automobile location and movements? This is on top of a tendency not to report on issues of concern to advertisers. Ain't capitalism/fascism grand?
Alice didn't you vote this guy in? Phone calls, plates, whats next? they are probaly going to try and control your health care. No, they would never do that. Not in America
Fascism isn't that far from Socialism. Be careful what you wish for.
Now that we have Obamacare...the insurance companies will raise their rates.
Originally, Obamacare was suppose to not allow insurance companies to raise rates above certain limits but Obama, and congress, were too chicken to fight the insurance companies on that part.
I understand that California's D. Feinstein is working on legislation to put caps on health insurance companies...but there is another California organization that is working really hard to stop insurance companies from raising rates.
All of the health insurance companies are heavily funding anti-capping and I imagine they will go all out to fool people into supporting their anti-capping efforts. They are really sneaky...so watch it when you are accosted by petition signers. They may be like American's Elect...pretending to be for the people but really not.
I was told that a few years ago the agribusiness did some really sneaky things in fighting the ingredients labeling measure by sending out mailers with photos of Democrats and printed in green trying to make people think the Democrats and Greens should vote against the measure. And, of course, agribusiness won.
And I hear Anthem Blue Cross is pulling a sneaky...pulling out of Obamacare while advertizing that... "Obamacare requires you to be covered by a certain date...so hurry and sign up with Anthem Blue Cross now"!
DAnneMarc: Wasn't there a guy somewhere around Oakland that was having a serious medical condition where the wife had to call for an ambulance. The ambulance came and they got him in the ambulance but then the 60(?) year old man thought the EMT team was treating him too roughly and so he went back into the house and came out with a base ball bat because they were trying to get him to get back into the ambulance.
By this time the police were there and they shot him dead. Admittedly, he had a drinking problem and was probably drunk and they had repeated drunk-related calls previously but to shoot an old guy that needed urgent medical care...and they shot him...or tased him? They could have at least have shot him in the leg or even just a warning shot. Big bad policemen are scared of a baseball bat? Something is definitely wrong with this picture. And it is occurring so often that it's really scary. It is really risking one's life to do or say anything other than "Yes sir...I'll do whatever you say sir...just please don't shoot me...SIR!"
And there was an old guy who shot this younger theater goer because he threw a bag of popcorn at him because the old guy was ticked off that the younger guy was texting during a movie...it was actually during the previews...I believe. Some people just are too unstable to carry a concealed weapon like that..and I understand that, in California, they are going to make it easier for people to carry concealed weapons.
And the old guy who, at a filling station, thought he was going to be Mr. Big Shot and tell a car full of black kids to turn their music down. Then he shot one of the kids when the car sped away.
And it's not just the old guys against the young guys..it's been the cops shooting up people no matter who they are. And, of course, the drive by shootings...young guys shooting anyone who is in the way...even little kids in their homes. And young guys breaking into old people's houses and robbing and killing them.
Insurance is about spreading risk. The more people included the more stable the insurance system will be and the fewer tax dollars needed to support it. Undocumented immigrants tend to be younger and healthier than the population in general. But you cannot reason a man out of a position he did not reason himself into (Sean Mór Ó Dochartaigh), so what is the point arguing about it?
It's a grave situation created by Republicans, it's immoral, and could have been avoided. Nothing against against CEO Karen O'Neal, but she had CBS's attention....just tell the damn truth. I wonder how many of those Georgia residents are blaming Obama, based on Karen's comment, "It's a terrible situation, and it's tragic"???...thaaanks OOOOBAMA!
That's why we either need new laws or new applications for existing ones. This an unforseen circumstance not specificly provided for in the origional language of the constitution, although I think it applies even to this.
The technology exists. (They) will use it. It's too late to stop it, but now we must find a way to deal with it in a democracy.

Is it me; or, does anyone else feel like they're under house arrest?
When are they going to ask for a stool sample?

Kend- Yeah right, I shoulda voted for McCain or Romney. Go soak your head.
Kend -- If we had voted for the other guy, they would have got all the information without anyone knowing. I like the transparency.
If we had a free press, how would reporters function with government monitoring of their phones, email traffic, automobile location and movements? This is on top of a tendency not to report on issues of concern to advertisers. Ain't capitalism/fascism grand?

Fascism 101.

There was a good article on Truthdig about the efforts to fight insurance rate increases.

Sweeter still if you also sent them a bill for the ambulance ride.
Does anyone need anymore proof that repuglicans want poor people to DIE?!?

Marc, that's what I love about you; sweet and and generous to a fault, with an ornery streak. My kinda guy! - AIW
Then stick them in an ambulance and rush them to an emergency room in one of the abandoned hospitals. How sweet would that be?
