Ron Paul gets it right on foreign policy and some civil liberties. But his "free market" policies will continue our move towards a corporatocracy. He's hardly Thomas Jefferson who wrote: "I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country."
Ron Paul's philosophy will just continue the corporatization of America. We need democracy, not corporatocracy.
To be a Republican today, one must be Rich, Cruel, or Ignorant, and they are not mutually exclusive.
Ron Pal is the only man qualified to be in office. One could say, Ron Paul is Thomas Jefferson...
Obama for alll the reasons Melissa Harris-Perry gives and because I like the family. He can't get elected without prostituting himself and I accept that because he is better than anyone else to help keep the country from total self-destruction. I am angry at the Democratic party bigwigs for being sissies for 20 years. The party leaders are shameful. the only one I liked was Dean. I am 77 and paid attention to the changes over the past 30 years. We have seen the power of a failiing education system in the ignorance of the electorate. I will continue to dream of the country I thought I was born into, knowing that was a dream too.
For President I always vote Green Party. This is to register my refusal to vote for the two-party dictatorship of the Corporate Feudal States of the American Brand of Fascism.
I have voted in every Presidential election since 1972 and have never voted for a Republican or Democrat for President.
For Congress I can usualy vote in my very progressive district for the Democrat without holding my nose. It has been Lynn Woolsey, and I hope Norman Solomon gets the Democratic nomination so I can vote for him.
It will be a year of, not "who to vote for, but who to vote against". We will have to start at the bottom and change the laws to outlaw this nonsense and give the law a mandatory life at hard labor sentence for bribery on both sides, giver and taker.
The 1% will never allow any President to be for the people ,the president is helpless any president not just President Obama ,unless of course a president like JFK comes along.

So, to get that ball rolling, I am auctioning off my vote for the 2012 election to the highest bidder. I will vote for whomever the highest bidder instructs me to vote for. Bidding ends August 7 (my birthday); payment to be deposited in my account no later than August 31. Minimum opening bid: $50,000,000.00. If every American voter follows my lead we can all retire...comfortably. This is going to be a FUN election 8-))
I saw this guy at OWS in NY. I felt so sorry for him. He quit a regular job to get a masters degree in pupettry. Can you imagine. He can't find a job.

Thom, you know why the Republican Caucus is heated in debate? Because of Mitt's dog Shamus. Shamus Santorumed the Romney's read windshield. And actually, Shamus didn't run away, Shamus was given away, and 20 plus odd years later, the spirit of Shamus is running against Mitt
Civility has gone down because lawfulness has gone up. Extreme conformism comes from dangerous times, when people that don't dress exactly right or talk in the right dialect are automatically suspected of being criminals (those dagbern hoodlums!).

Who ever the Democratic and Republican establishment offer up to us. Either way, it's a win-win for the 1%!
It really doesn't even matter because Harry Reid has already said that the President's budget is not going to be looked at before the election. Neither congress nor the senate want to balance the budget like the rest of America has to.
The President wastes a lot of time on budgets in order to be cautious that his senate won't even look at so it just seems like he could be doing something productive.
By the way, these days I really LOVE♥♥♥LOVE♥♥♥LOVE Mitt Romney! LOL
Maybe he's not realizing it, but he's the most honest politician we possibly ever had:

He's actually talking about what they talk over in Republican quiet rooms! He's selling his conservative fellows out, by revealing all those sneaky facts. That's what the GOP is all about, people!
People really have to get: this Republican Party got to "undevelop" to a party for very small minorities (like NPD in Germany). They are more harmful and dangerous as ever and supposed to shrink to a small fraction in Congress that can't disturb and harm any longer. On the left then we need a strong progressive party.
Then we can really stop the decline, the "undeveloping".....

Well, actually my topic is "change Americans". We're quite a bit behind. ;o)
There's no such thing as "American exceptionalism" -- that sacred cow gotta be butchered. It's nothing but small-minded American conservatism that is about fearing change.
Stop whining sissies, mama Clarissa and her liberal friends are working for the better......
Well I hope we will see some progress, I just hope its the right kind. I don't want the lives of so many ruined by the welfare state. And I'm sick to death of all these undeclared wars!! Stop the madness!!
One correction: MEDICARE is NOT an entitlement program. Like Social Security, we pay for it through our taxes and premiums.
