Last I looked at my check stub, I noticed big chunk of money is deducted from my pay check, other than paying for Federal and State taxes, I am paying for social Security and Medicare, disability insurace among other, things, and on the side I got The affordable Healthcare, for me, my wife and my son. All the above, I must pay before I can support and feed my family. Now if the Kochs and the Republicans want to take away my Social security money that I have been paying into for over 36 years, and still, if they want to cut my Medicare and other programs that the tax payers and I built and fed to be for us when we need them, where big Corporations, the billionairs and most republicans don't even contribute a penny into, -they don't even pay taxes, they keep their earnings and profitsoutside in world banks, they go spend it outside they enjoy life on our backs, these crooks should all be in jail, they have no business touching our money our programs, those $$ are our savings, our bank accounts, who the hell are they to even discuss our social security or our medicare? But if congress or our Government wants to go along with those crooks, then it should quit deducting from our checks for social security, medicare or even Taxes in general, and yea, pay us now all what we accrued in so far since first day of work. Why do you think they also want to raise the retirement age? It is very obviouse, it's either they want to delay the collection dates so they have the time to empty our account, or they already stole the money from social security, and medicare, and they don't know how to admit it to the public that they took the money, it is more likely the latter, because they keep saying the Social Security is Bankrupt.
Good luck getting these CEOs to fess up anything. They don't even want their workers to find out what each other makes. Nevertheless, the IRS is sitting on top of all these figures. The SEC doesn't need the cooperation of private industry or CEOs to know what that ratio is - they already have all the tools to calculate it themselves. Also, with Dodd-Frank they don't even need their approval or permission to make that information public.
Here we go again. Just another way to harass the filthy rich. Now they have to figure out what part of their wealth is "PAY" and what part they can leave out. Reminds me of that guy Lee Iacocca who stepped in and saved Chrysler. I think he took one dollar for his salary to set an example. Way to go Lee! Wonder what he really walked away with.
We need to know what the ratio is. Obviously if they want to hide it there is something wrong.
stecoop01 -- Wouldn't you rather want the limit to be a max ratio, instead of, a max gap?
Hopefully they would leave the GOP, but many seniors, and others always get pulled right into the fear mongering trap the GOP puts up on Fox News etc,or many seniors voted GOP for president because Barack Obam is black,sad.
And this is why I would rather see a Maximum Wage Gap law, instead of an increase in the minimum wage.
Reply to #11: stecoop, when I worked out at the local gym they had FOX on their TV screens all the time. I began turning off the TVs unless it was obvious that someone was watching... until people started complaining. So then I resorted to changing the channels. And I made sure the owner of the gym knew who owns FOX and how offensive FOX is to me.

Half of Texas believes that the United States military is conducting exercises related to eventually esatblishing martial law in Texas....that's what it is to be right of center in Merica now. Those of us left of center believe and vote for politicians who want do things like ending tax breaks for companies shipping our jobs overseas. The Republican Party filibustered against such a terrible blow to the Fascists.
Fox News fuels the Right of center madness with falsehoods, deceptions, and all manner of distorted content, which amounts to nothing more than hardcore propaganda. MSNBC doesn't even come close to what could be described as left of center propaganda.......There is no comparison....if you base your reality on Fox, and refuse medication, please surrender your drivers license before you hurt somebody. .
AIW - More alarming is the number of fast food resteraunts (here in Indiana) that have their televisions tuned to Fox news. It's a conspiracy!
IRV -- Thanks for letting me say what no one seems to ever say. That is, although correlation does not equal causation, it seems to me that correlation is the only thing that proves causation. You should talk to more quantum physicists. The existence of new elements and particles is based on correlations in the range of 99.9999% (I am trying to remember the number of 9's from my conversation with a quantum physicist at lunch a couple of months ago).
Of course, if you use the wrong correlation, you have a hard time proving anything even though Ou812 tries. We need the price of electricity in those 9 states prior to the RGGI. Then with that number we could use the change in rates in the nearby states for comparison.
I thought a carbon tax was suppose to raise energy costs. It should reflect the true cost of the energy. At best, it would make energy less expensive in the future.

Our occupation has me in many people’s homes on a fairly regular basis. It horrifies me to see how many TV screens have FOX on them. That shit is poison. Owned by fascist olicarch who aren’t even American, from Australia and Saudi Arabia!! Right-wing extremist foreigners telling Americans how to think. Ain’t that special.
Fox is simply propoganda designed for old white people. It endlessly mines the past as America's 'Golden Time'. However, the very things that made that time special (mass employment, home ownership, affordable college enducation) were because of progressive tax rates, strong unions and a shared vision of what was important (education, social safety net, etc). Fox has done a masterful job of mobilizing these folks (out of fear and hate) to actively disassemble the very society that their generation built to attain comfort and/or wealth for themselves. Do as I now say, not as I once did. Good luck with that.
Paul Hosse and flyguy360 -- Would you please tell me where those left wing stations are (other than FSTV)? I would like to hear more about net neutrality other than the lie that it means that they cannot charge more for download speed. I would like to hear more than 4 or 5 hours a year about the disaster of global energy capture (AKA global warming; definitely do not call it what the billionaires want us to call it i.e. climate change). I would like to hear more about how well the economy does whenever the top tax rate exceeds 50%, which is probably the only thing the left should want. I would like to hear more about how disastrous the trade agreements have been. I would like to hear more about throwing white CEOs in jail that hire illegal immigrants. Do any of those "left wing stations" talk about how card check could save our country?
Art, I disagree with taking, & storing babies DNA. No offense, but I find it hard to believe that you--working in, & the job that you do, hasn't witnessed some questionable incident. I personally, have witnessed 2. Only recently, did I realize, my child born in Huntington, WV, in 1991, was a victim of Cord Blood theft.
Shortly following my childs birth, the Dr. on duty told my family to leave, so I could be cleaned up. He, & the attending nurse stepped out, & my family followed. A woman without a name tag walked in. She stopped at the center-foot of my bed, put on gloves, picked up, & held in her hand, my childs umbilical cord & began to extract it's blood with a thick siringe.
I asked. "Your taking umbilical cord blood?"
"Yes."
"I didn't ask for that. I can't afford that."
"It's manadtory." the woman replied, & left.
The 2nd time, I witnessed a theft, it was my own...a Dr., with the assistance of his nurse, stole my reproductive property. He likely pulled this off 2-weeks prior. It's probable that he took a thin slice of my right ovary. as well. Given, there isn't a law in WV that could've prevented this unexceptable violation, I am still fighting to have an unbiased thorough investigation preformed. I've been sentenced to a shortened lifetime of torchure, while the 2 perpetratrators live the good life. Surely,
some answers could not have been done away with. Such as, what company received my precious property? How sighed for it? And, with Bank paid them for it? Repro-property is paid on commission. He tired to get me to return in 2-weeks, but things weren't adding up.
Also, nobody sould take or extract any tissue following a persons death without the deceased prior permission. No blood, etc, taken prior to death, with DNA or other in mind.

CNN NBC CBS - yes even MSNBC of late is NOT far left but more middle of the road. I began to watch pbs news hour M-F 6 pm central and www.fstv.org for real ' tell it like it is- reporting ' . In my lifetime I have watched news become profit driven entertainment.. Fox Hannity Kelly & super popular O'Reilly are very opiniated. I do not want their ' point of view' O'Reilly is NOT a journalist, he started at a ' celeb' news station ... GOp stands for busting unions ( lower wages ) defunding, public schools, waging profit driven wars that killed, maimed , wasted trillions, created more enemies and massive un funded debt. True. Fox does give a "Right of Center" perspective of the news. But then, CNN, MSNBS, ABC, NBC, and CBS plus numerious newspapers give the "Left of Center" point of view. Are you saying that there should be no news outlets giving the Conservative perspective or that there should be a balance in either the outlets or that the news should be balanced?
Personally, I think it should be the latter. That's why I usually check out FOX and one of the Left news sites to get a more accurate picture. When I'm seriously interested in a topic, I also check out RT and the BBC.
It's automatically assumed that given that since six corporations own all the news outlets, they're biased. If you're just looking for re-enforcement of your opinion, then obviously you just need to check out either right leaning Fox or left leaning "fill in the blank".

Whoa, what about the msnbc and the left media? They dodge anything that might be counter to there leftist leaning views. The Hannity's and alike are NOT journalists, they are opinonist. The left and right are "OPPOSAMES". The reason Bernie and Trump are doing so well is because OF the Far Left and Far Right Idiology. We are a center left country and have allowed idiots on both sides to prevail. Blasting Fox for it opionists is stupid, listen to Bill O he at least is somewhat balanced but he is also a bit slanted. I have heard him praise Obama and I like that he nails the bad guys on both sides.
You need a little Fox - Cnn - CSPAN - NPR and some reality pills to really get what they, the "OPPOSAMES" are going to do to us center left moderates.
Trump has some good points. Especially on Trade BS. So does Sanders. They should both start a center left third party. That would be really fun to watch!!! May the best truth speaker win.
