People need to hear the truth about all these criminals(republicans) before they spend billions to win another election.

This is EXACTLY why the Dems keep getting their asses handed to them...why would we even think twice about sticking it to these 'death panel' animals?

I so hope Issa gets taken down, he is evil like so many of the current lawmakers. This country is FUBAR and not the same as it was a few years ago. George W destroyed this country after Reagan began the process. It SUCKS.

A lot of it is already public knowledge anyhow, so why not?

It is very permissive to investagate as long as the TRUTH is shown with FACTS not by circumstancial evidence. If it can be shown in black and white, a paper trail, by sworn testimony, I say go for it.....Be careful what you seek however, not well done or without solid and ethical practices, it will backfire big time.

I vote no - these types of dirty tricks are best left to those who have no moral standing ... namely the soulless members of the far right. We shouldn't lower ourselves to their standard.

Fear not - these types of self righteous a-holes always have their come uppance!

Yes it is OK! If we let Issa have his way, we will have poison air, water and food, no consumer protection, no protections for workers or wildlife or wild lands. If digging up his past will stop him from hurting us all, then lets use a huge backhoe and do so!!!

the fight spirit in me wants to vote yes. However I have to say for now the jury is out. I thought this poll would b e an easy "yes" yet the question is complex enough that I need some time to reflect on my own sense of justice. I do feel time is running out for our democracy. It may be too late to make a decision as all our votes our lost. Janis

I couldn't agree more about digging up the dirt on Issa. These people are way beyond contemptible, and richly deserve a bit of what they themselves have been dishing out for way too long. The truth about what these people are doing needs to be brought into the light.

Democrats need to understand...finally....finally....finally....the only thing that works in American politics is attacking. If you are answering you are losing.

They outed CIA operative Valerie Plame and tried to smear her husband, Joe Wilson, and offense that should have had Karl Rove and Scooter Libby hanging by the end of a rope. They said that Plame was "fair game". I say that Issa is fair game, since the perpetrators of treason went off virtually scott free. It's time to smear the smearers and show them up for their lies and their deceptive pasts. It's time to stand up to those who are destroying the United States and our democracy. It's time to pull back the curtain on these thugs who are paid to destroy the lives of good and honest people. Let's drag Issa through the mud that is his past and show it to the world, and let the bright light of day expose him for what he is, a paid goon who has nothing but bad intent.

Issa shills for the insane billionaires. He was selected for his position based on who he is as a man. The people deserve to know the same details that the insane billionaires knew when they picked him for his current assignment.

The main reason Republicans go through with these political stunts is because they KNOW the Democratic Party will not reciprocate. We are dealing with a horde of Conan the Barbarians and we're trying to deal with them using Marquis of Queensbury rules.

The Republicans always have to play dirty, Thats what they do, the Democrats have to state the facts, over and over and over untill people get it. There is no disputing the facts but they need to be repeated and the Mainstream media must be shamed into doing their jobs. They need to publicize the facts about what the republicans are doing, what they have done and what they are going to do, Where are the Democratic leaders? , where are the labor leaders from all unions, they all need to be there and President Obame has to come out stronger on all these issues. The national news media ignores important issues untill Fox gets there and spins it, now the damage is done.

A person's past is germaine. It shapes who that person has become and can be an effective indicator of that person's motives and ethics, or the lack thereof. In the sea of corruption that has polluted the Republican Party and threatens to pollute America, he truly stand out and needs to be pointed to as an example. A bad example. A really !@#$%& bad example.

Playing nice; fair; "by the rules" is only getting our butts kicked. Sure, in the end progress may out, but do we really want to wait several generations for the corruption to rot itself into collapse from the inside like the Soviet Union did so that we can say, "We played fair"? There is such a thing as too high a price.

Perhaps this is just the conservative that still lies within that would like to see them lined up against the wall, but these traitors will exact too high a price from which America will never recover because when the aforementioned collapse does come, it will be in a vastly different world, and America's chance will likely have long been gone and that may ultimately be the greatest tragedy of all for what was once a great nation.

The conservative that lies within likes to think it remembers a great America and that's the country I want back: the one with hope and promise and maybe a greater sense of ethics than we've seen in our lifetimes because without progress, I can't see what there would be left to conserve.

A bit rambly, perhaps, but that's how I feel. I love this country like a parent and want only what's best for it and when I see it making bad decisions... well I get sad. Damn.

From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
Dean Baker, economist and author of Plunder and Blunder, False Profits, and Taking Economics Seriously
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
