Follow the money. Wall Street engaged in predatory lending on our states pention funds. They sold them ETF's with bogus AAA ratings. When the housing bubble burst (because it wasn't real) those pention funds were hit hard. Why aren't there bankers/brokers in prison and why aren't these banks being fined in-order to replenish the funds they depleted?
Banksters should be held responsible for their actions through the tax code and the penal code. Give th banksters a fair trial but a jury of OUR peers then imprison them for a fair amount of time, 10-20 years is fair. Prison prevents offenders from repeat offenses and deters similar criminal actions in the future.
Why this question is not even being discussed in the national media, in the New York Times, in the corridors of government... is simply obscene. Why instead of immediately going to the most vulnerable parts of our population, the ones who already shoulder the major burden of keeping this government on track, taking one more thing (bargaining rights) from them, and not even looking at the paper trail that leads back to Wall Street, the crooks, banksters, billionaires and money lords, makes it hard to conclude that justice, or anything under that name, reigns in this country. And unless somebody, Obama, perhaps?, begins to take this matter seriously, the tinderbox of righteous fury created by the insanity that has come to govern this country could detonate any moment. It's time the Walkers, the Boehners and the other rich riffraff who run this country from the golf courses get their due.
