Thom

Last night on frontline. The topic was night raides in Afghanistan, and the one thing that I believe necessary before we pull out of Afghanistan is the Taliban need to set at the table. When Osama bin Laden destroyed property and lives in the United States, we were drawn into conflict, with an unconventional enemy in an unfamiliar theater. Forget George Bush leaving Afghanistan to simmer on the back burner and spoil while heading off to Iraq, In another conquest. The problem is still the same as long as the Taliban and Al Qaeda area a vague whisper on the winds of history with out a physical structure and hierarchy. They cannot be dealt with in an honorable fashion or trusted. So in answer to your question today, however distasteful and costly. This war has become, in the end it was all for not. If we cannot face a structured opponent and deal with them in the same fashion as any other conflicts in our past. Someone needs to be accountable. Someone needs to negotiatebefore we leave Afghanistan without some sort of consensus and accountability. It was a waste and a loss.

Not only does he violate the constitution of the united states by continuing this b.s. war on terrorism and continuing the homeland security act, susan collins of maine authored it after swearing to uphold and defend the united states constitution like the rest of the corrupt a.h.'s we elected only to find they all bend over to shove corporate dollar bills where the sun don't shine. it's too bad the many don't band together to get the few out of our hair once and for all in order to have the government run by the people and for the people. are most of us americans dumb or what?the u.s. constitution is very clear about the two tear limit for funding war. i believe this is why public schools do not teach our children the u.s. constitution; they don't want people to know that they continuously violate the very document they are sworn to uphold and to defend. patriot act - my ass.

thanks for giving me the opportunity to print my opinion. i, like millions of americans, was uneducated about our constitution until i went to college and studied in criminal justice class with a bunch of cops. they are well aware of their ability to violate ordinary citizens civil rights and they do make a practioce of doing so with the expectation of the ordinary citizens ignorance when it comes to knowing about the constitution. we should fire half the cops and stop america from continuing to become a massive police state. another movement they have been brainwashing their new and young cadets with is- disarming the public and claiming that the 'well aremed militia ' is the 'national guard'. check the NRA website- every nation that has disarmed their citizens has committed mas genocide. this is what they think and would like to do so they can create a society of terrorized robots who are 'afraid to make waves'. get rid of half the cops; most of them are corrupt anyway. i know because i worked with them and saw first hand how they cover-up for corrupt activities that their 'brothers become involved with either for sex, mpney, favortism, climbing the ladder of success by being a 'team player'.

Thom's Blog Is On the Move

Hello All

Thom's blog in this space and moving to a new home.

Please follow us across to hartmannreport.com - this will be the only place going forward to read Thom's blog posts and articles.

From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"Beneath the success and rise of American enterprise is an untold history that is antithetical to every value Americans hold dear. This is a seminal work, a godsend really, a clear message to every citizen about the need to reform our country, laws, and companies."
Paul Hawken, coauthor of Natural Capitalism and author of The Ecology of Commerce
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Through compelling personal stories, Hartmann presents a dramatic and deeply disturbing picture of humans as a profoundly troubled species. Hope lies in his inspiring vision of our enormous unrealized potential and his description of the path to its realization."
David Korten, author of Agenda for a New Economy, The Great Turning, and When Corporations Rule the World
