    Obama gets his instructions

Good evening Mr Obama and thank you for coming on such a short notice but we wanted you and Hilary to be together when we inform you that you will be the next President of the United States and Hilary will have to wait until 2016... U will also be responsible for some landmark legislation in regard to health care and we can help with that and to add a feather to your bonnet the killing of Bin Laden-- oh yes-- he must be killed... (or at least his double-- buried at sea) we certainly don't want him testifying in any court.

All we ask is that when it comes to petroleum, please just push back from the table and let us handle things. After the Iraq war has ended we want that oil pipeline to run through Iraq to the Syrian coast and onto tankers. So in your second term U might have to start a war with Syria.

Barrack Insane O-Bomb-ah, Drone Warrior, how many kids did U kill today?

  • Will GOP state lawmakers give in to public pressure & expand Medicaid?   11 years 4 weeks ago

I subscribe to the "never say never" expression, but with half the States blindly refusing free Medicaid I seriously doubt the GOP will budge on this. They have the State legislatures backing up their greedy "give it all to the rich and let the poor die" policies.

    "The die is cast"

The initial vote has been made and that was the hard part. Sticking to their guns will be easy.

I have to blame the general public for continuing to vote republican. they are the party of hate and the party of no.

Fortunately, I don't live in a red state, but it seems we still have to suppport them with taxes.

    WALMART

Walmart started out in Reynolds, Arkansas in 1962 selling cut rate merchandise (crap that people didn't need)... but Wally Mart knew America needed to spend money as by that time spending money with God emblazoned on it had become a form of prayer. Wally Mart realized he could make money simply by advertising crap as the 'lowest possible price'... which is what he was selling. What brought Walmart to full throttle? Women's panties! Ten for a dollar! And in an environment-- the Bible Belt-- where a woman could still get her face slapped for saying panties in public. Now people could talk about sex by talking about cheap panties! Women had panty modeling parties and men who wore panties went insane. Due to Walmart offering cheap panties to sexually inhibited puritan America it ushered in the sexual revolution, the women's movement and the gay rights movement. WALFART TOOK OUT LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES ON IT'S EMPLOYEES, DIDN'T TELL THEM AND MADE THEMSELVES THE BENEFICIARY... THEN WORKED THEM TO DEATH!
Wal-Mart greedy Walton family exposed + underground bunker!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcCfkKziWa8
Alice Walton daughter of Sam Walton founder of Walmart was arrested for driving drunk. She was driving home from her 62nd birthday party in Weatherford, Texas with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.
She said to the cop: "Do U know who I am, Bitch?"

The cop didn't know she was the 21rst richest person in the world or the 10th in the USA.

I would disagree with Justice Stevens that the citizenry might come to "believe" that the government will be "neither responsive to their needs nor willing to give their views a fair hearing." That issue has long ago past into a self evident reality.

  • We've lost 90 years in the fight for economic equality.   11 years 4 weeks ago

Kend, come on. I'm no backstabber. I'm more outfront and in-yer-face. Whatcha see is whatcha git. And those first two sentences of your last post remind me why I kinda like you despite all the quibbles. Much as I abhor most of your opinions, I can't quite bring myself to dislike you the person. Despite all the nonsense you dish out on this blog and how it annoys me, (AHEM) I still get a sense of you as an affable guy, basically good-hearted, with a certain oafish charm. For what it's worth... - AIW

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

Chuck, sorry if I misunderstood. Parts of your post did not seem clear to me, not enough to really get your point. I may have misinterpreted. If you could try explaining those thoughts to me again, maybe we can reach a better understanding, if not 100% lockstep agreement. - AIW

  • The Conservative Death Panel   11 years 4 weeks ago

Back to where this part of the discussion came from. I think the reason Thom stays away from comparing to Nazism, is because it is like name calling. As soon as you use name calling everybody quits listening. For example, they call Obama a Nazi. I, for one, quit listening to those people. However, using the details of "Mein Kampf" to explain something does not turn off as many listeners. As a matter of fact, Thom has played the audio of FDR using "Mein Kampf" explaining the action of the repugs.

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

AIW -- It is patronizing when I say you are in an ivory tower, but when I say I am in an ivory tower it is self-deprecating. Do you not agree?

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

Chuck says "Those mathematical models have a hard time coming up with a metric for things like harassment etc." …. HUH? I'm not getting your point. Is this in response to something in particular that I said? If so, I'd like to know what it is.

Anyway Chuck, the so-called "real world" is, in reality, an artificial one. The only world I know to be "real" is the natural world, of which we may be a part but lost touch with eons ago. And I reject any notion of our status quo having the remotest resemblance to what constitutes "real".

One more thing. Please spare me the old "Ivory Tower" platitudes. When someone disagrees with me on topics like this, I often will hear words like "Ivory Tower" and "Utopia" injected into the dialogue. With all due respect, Chuck, it comes across very patronizing. Anytime those words start popping up, it's generally my cue to end the discussion. - Alice I.W.

  • We've lost 90 years in the fight for economic equality.   11 years 4 weeks ago

Sounds good DAnne. Your right it was n. Korea not China for a Rodman.. What a pinhead. Ya did well on Bieber he probaly is worth as much as the Kochs. LOL. We where doing well with singers Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Rush, etc but sorry about Justin B. Hopefully he will grow up.

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

AIW -- That ivory tower was figurative. I have only had 2 courses in economics.

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

AIW -- Thanks for the reply. I do not disagree with anything you said. I need for you to point out the real world part for me. I was just sitting in my ivory tower looking at the mathematical models of the economy. Those mathematical models have a hard time coming up with a metric for things like harassment etc.

Quote Kend:Ok. Final offer take it or leave it. We take both Kochs if we get their money as well. I'll take Nugent Guns are welcome here it's very rural But you have to keep Canadian Justin Bieber.

Kend ~ No filthy pipeline and you take Nugent and both Koch brothers? All we have to do is keep Justin Bieber? Wow! Thats a tough one; but, I think we got a deal. Done! Bieber annoys the hell out of me but he doesn't make me want to put a gun to my head like Nugent does every time he opens his big mouth. Besides, my neices get a harmless, non-threatening kick out of the kid.

We can strand Rodman in North Korea. He likes it there; and, the people there actually like and respect him. Everyone will be happy!

One handshake and a little hug!

  • We've lost 90 years in the fight for economic equality.   11 years 4 weeks ago

Yes Kend, we've heard it all before. You've worked hard for what you've got. Bully for you. Must be nice to live in a place where hard work still pays. Here in America we've got engineers, professors and computer programmers winding up homeless, like those two individuals Marc described having encountered. It's a lot of work earning those stripes. Once upon a time and not so long ago, they were your ticket to a lifelong career and financial security. Not any more. So please Kend, spare me all the redundant messages about this great life you have that you worked so hard for in Canada. This is America, home of the slave.

Frankly Kend, I hate how you twist what we say to mean something stupid and ridiculous as "hating" you or anyone just for wanting a comfortable lifestyle, with lots of vacation time... Who the hell doesn't want that?! We happen to think that the more affluent you are, the more taxes you should have to pay. Why? Because the more affluent you are, the more you have benefitted in the current system. Therefore the more you should pay to support it. That's the real message. Big difference. - Aliceinwonderland

  • When capitalism fails...a job should still be a right   11 years 4 weeks ago

"chuckle8" says: "I do not see the difference between welfare and a stable, permanent, guaranteed income whether a person works or not." Really, Chuck? Here's the difference I see: no social worker to answer to, not having one's eligibility constantly scrutinized and challenged; no harassment, no bureaucracy, no stigma, no bull crap. Everybody gets a roof, utilities, food and health care... Period. Requirements for eligibility: (1) being a member of the human species and (2) U.S. citizenship. Big, big difference. Prior to now, there have been no such protections or guarantees for any but the idle rich.

Like at least some participants here, Chuck, I happen to view such protections as something which should be a given, in any society that is truly civilized. Discarding people, leaving them to face the elements on their own, is simply wrong. I don't care how lazy or dysfunctional they are. It's wrong. Being discarded is a death sentence to the discardee. While I don't like or admire laziness any more than you do (or even any conservative), I don't believe it should justify a death sentence. There is no place for homelessness in a civilized world. We can't discard other human beings like pieces of trash without losing some of our own humanity.

Why am I saying all this, you might ask. Because welfare sucks. Welfare is a lousy solution. What's more, it is only temporary relief, and skimpy relief at that. And it is an ordeal. Been there, done that... not recently, thank god. But even decades later, I vividly recall the experience. It is a disheartening, demeaning, tedious, stressful ordeal. The stigma attached to it doesn't help. Nothing would please me more than to see welfare become obsolete; not from screwing the poor, mind you, but from eliminating any need for it.

I've no doubt that among the various people who wind up reading this post, some heads are gonna explode. Sorry 'bout that. But no one will ever convince me that a wealthy country like the good ole USA can't afford something like this, because it is bull crap. Look at the trillions squandered on illegitimate wars, bank bailouts, corporate subsidies and tax breaks for the rich! The hell we can't afford it. Lump all that together and we'd have more than enough to pay for the basic necessities of life guaranteed every man, woman and child in this country. Just a matter of priorities; who's steering the boat, and what his-or-her priorities are. - Aliceinwonderland

Ok. Final offer take it or leave it. We take both Kochs if we get their money as well. I'll take Nugent Guns are welcome here it's very rural But you have to keep Canadian Justin Bieber. All of this only if I can make a three way deal with China to take that freak Rodman. I am not worried about Keystone it looks like we are going a different route anyway. Congrats I think you won that one. I think you are going to regret it later though But time will tell.

No kiss? How bout a little hug if we can get it done?

Kend ~ Wow! You drive quite a hard bargain. I feel like my first day in prison. Not only do I get a Koch I don't want; but you'll permanently install a filthy pipe I don't need in my backyard.

Here, I got a better deal. You take both Kochs at the same time, keep your filthy pipe on your side of the fence, and I'll throw in Dennis Rodman and Ted Nugent at no extra cost as my little way of saying thank you.

On a much more serious note here is an email I just received from Senator Warren about the TPP that deserves to be shared immediately everywhere. If you already received it, ignore this post:

    Quote Senator Elizabeth Warren:

    Greetings Fair Trade Team!

If you're like me, you've probably been wondering what to make of all the recent commotion involving:

    - Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden's alleged plans to introduce "Smart Track" trade authority (what's up with that?)

    - USTR Michael Froman's ongoing "TPP is great" blitz, and the media's love affair with it - enough is enough, right?

    - 24 State GMO-Labeling laws coming under attack this week in Congress

    - U.S. pressure on Asian trading partners to lower import standards (on food and other products) Seriously?

    - And a panoply of "what ifs" that are making our Fast Track and TPP discussions more headache-inducing than usual!

Fear not: you'll get all the latest - including how you can help in the next phase of our Stop Fast Track Campaign, on tomorrow's National TPP Team Conference Call at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, 4:30 p.m. Pacific.

BIG NEWS: Our guest speakers are discussing a subject near and dear to my own heart: FOOD!

Bill Bullard, Executive Director of the Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund (R-CALF) and Alexis Baden-Mayer, Political Director of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), will examine the impact of free trade on our American food supply - from ranch and farm to our family dinner tables - in the discussion:

We are what we eat: How Free Trade Poisons the U.S. Food Chain

R-CALF is delivering a white paper in Washington next Thursday, April 17, and we'll get a preview of some of these findings on the call.

The Organic Consumers Association will be addressing timely concerns associated with corporate attempts to ban GMO (genetically modified organism) labeling worldwide. (Sneaky corporations likeMonsanto are using trade agreements to skirt domestic laws and force GMOs on countries who've either banned them or mandated labeling. Join the call to hear what you can do about it!)

    National TPP Team Conference Call

    Sunday, April 13, 2014, 4:30 p.m. Pacific, 7:30 p.m. Eastern

    Call-in number: 559-726-1300 Access Code: 951146#

    Meeting Room URL:

    http://www.anymeeting.com/moveforjustice1

We'll kick off the call with an update from PDA's Deputy Director Andrea Miller on recent media exposure, and the Countdown to Coverage letter campaign (new content you can use this week), followed by updates from Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch National Field Director Kian Frederick on the next phase (now through May 7) of our ongoing Campaign to Stop Fast Track.

Emilianne Slaydon with TPP Media March will tell us about TPP Tuesday Twitter storms with special campaign messaging this week and next. This all ties in with the president's trip to Asia and our plans for continuing to pressure Congress and the media to tell the truth about TPP.

We'll wrap with the two guest speaker presentations and a Q & A session - join us to get answers to your own questions about free trade and its affect on our food supply.

Thanks for your efforts - together we CAN make a difference! :)

    Until tomorrow, in solidarity,

    Liz :)

Kend ~ Well thanks for popping my happy little balloon "Kill Joy." I want my kiss back!

Consider taxing the "poop" out of the Koch brothers an accepted proposal. What more do they have to offer anyway since they are full of mostly "Poop." We'll take anything we can get; however, I'd still much rather tax them out of the country. We really don't want their kind here. They stink the place up!

  • Let's reboot the American Dream!   11 years 4 weeks ago

Chuck, what Thom, Gary & I have been advocating is a system where welfare is no longer needed.

Welfare sucks. It's demeaning, disheartening and depressing, getting any kind of government assistence. The stigma unfairly attached to it doesn't help. Been there, done that. Not recently, thank goodness. But nothing would make me happier than to see welfare become obsolete; not because of poor people gettng screwed but because it simply isn't needed any longer. - AIW

Quote Kend:It is true that the Koch brothers have invested hundreds of millions up here. Do you blame them for taking their money out of the country After the bashing they get down there.

Kend ~ The Koch brothers are taking their money out of the US and investing in Canada? Really? Now if they could just take their sorry a$$-ets out of the country too I think we deserve a celebration. I can't thank you Canadians enough! If you were here right now I'd kiss you.

Hey everyone!! The Koch brothers are finally leaving the country. Whooo Hooo! Wow! Time to party! I guess you just can't underestimate the power of prayer.
