I really believe the writing is on the wall and debating first its existence and secondly whether humans are responsible is moot. Harder times are on the way and there is nothing we can do but to prepare. Those who keep their heads in the sand will not do well. Those who prepare for global climate catastrophe... might do worse.

We live at 750 ft. where in decades past, the skies were perpetually blue except in the Winter when we had normal rains. 1987 was the first year we stopped having Spring thunderstorms. Oh, it still rained some for the next 6 years, but one or 2 claps of thunder were the only claps we heard per season, after that. And it still holds true in the Northeastern foothills of Los Angeles. Then, to make matters worse, we began seeing giant Xs in the skies. Those soon were patterned across with silly streaks of non-legible skywriting which fanned out and took all the blue away, from horizon to horizon. Since the chemtrails began, our weather has gotten much more sultry in the Summers, and colder in the Winters. The air is heavy. It tastes of metal. Our bird bath gets a foul-smelling scum on top of the water and the birds won't touch it. Climate Change is very real, and as long as those planes fly leaving those ugly trails behind them, no amount of conservation will stop the climate from changing from bad to much worse. Mad-made? You betcha! Mother Nature's changes happen more slowly, as they occurred between 1987 and 1993. Noticeable, but not severe. So we've got natural accelerating Climate Change and man-made climate change, to boot. And still, people see only what they're told is real - by Fox News.

Gawd...! Is there no way to get rid of these people?!! All we want to do is discuss the issues of our day, how they impact our lives, etc... Is there no place we can do that without being infiltrated by PR fucking scumbags?!!! I resent this like crazy. - AIW

I grew up in northwest Oregon. The Oregon Historical society Museum in downtown Portland has historical photos of people driving Model T's on a frozen Willamette River. In my own lifetime I have witnessed a significant change in weather. Don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Eisenhower was absolutely correct when he warned against the power of the military-industrial complex. Sadly, so many people still do not know the huge amount of $$$ that are disappearing in unknown coffers without any accountability whatsoever. If Congress asked for a real audit, it actually cannot be done it is SO out of control. The very fabric of our economy is in deep peril when acc. to the War Resister's League, greater than 47% of our entire U.S. budget for 2014 goes for current and past military spending. Our endless wars are NOT making us safer. In fact, the U.S. is the #1 supplier of arms around the world, fueling endless conflicts. What could we do if we cut the budget by half and realize $700 Billion or more dollars? How about free healthcare for all, free schooling including college?, infrastructure repair, cities of the future w/ latest transportation, new energy grids, alternative energy subsidies, etc, etc...... If you don't believe it can be done, check Germany for all the above. My relatives love it!!

But there do seem to be some here to fit that profile, especially on the member blogs. They do seem to work in teams.

A lot of 'em, I think, are business PR shills. A good book, written in the '90s but still very relevant today, Toxic Sludge is Good for You by Sheldon Rampton and John Stauber, describes to what lengths PR firms will go to spread disinformation, how very effective they are and how valued and relied upon they are by big business.

It's really an outrage that large, already profitable profiteers could consider themselves owners of what is, essentially, a technology. A technology must be considered a common carrier as there can only be one such medium for everyone.

This, if I have this correct, will cause the end of the Thom Hartmanns and Amy Goodmans on the net as small, independent, essentially non for profit enterprizes will simply not be able to compete. The net will be a shopping channel, not public media but an advertizing service.

I've read "The Gentleperson's Guide To Forum Spies" which details some of the methods. It was very sobering indeed.

And who says a new Church Commission will be as effective on rooting out the corruption as the first one? As someone pointed out, Congressional investigations are where evidence goes to die. If the NSA can ruin reputations, it can intimidate those trying to uncover these dirty tricks. There is enough planting of false information, unfounded accusations, and psyops going on as it is - probably more than we realize. This will, as Dick Cheney once said, "take the gloves off" for the spy networks. I am pretty sure the NSA is quite happy with the death of net neutrality. Any debunking or truthtelling could be slowed down or restricted enough to amount to censorship, and the element of money means that those who control the internet can be plied to cooperate.

There is an alternative to paying $39.99 per year for vpn...you can get openvpn at www.openvpn.net for free...but it was interesting to watch them install their recommended vpn on both a Windows system and a Linux system.

This is actually something not many people think about...that without vpn...your ISP can see everything you download or upload...what sites you go to...and they can and do limit bandwidth based on what content you are downloading. So, even though you may have what looks like a 5 or 10Mbps bandwidth when you run speed tests...they can actually slow you down when you are doing something other than running a speed test. You can only suspect that's what is happening. Normally, I thought that vpn would slow you down...but if you install vpn and you get an increase in bandwidth that would tell you that your isp is limiting your bandwidth on certain things you download. With vpn...they can't tell what your content is.

The talked about "the last mile" as well and this has been a real bug for me...especially when the carriers try to sell me on fiber optics (they don't want you to know that the "last mile" of old copper wire will actually be the thing that keeps you from realizing the real benefits of fiber optics). I'm hoping that Google gets around to my area and installs fiber to the home...as it should be. But AT&T Uverse will only install fiber to the home in newly built home complexes and doesn't want to do that for older homes.

Yes, it's a start, but we all know nearly everything related to defense is now in the hands of contractors who continue to bleed us dry with not a lot to show for it.

Call me a dreamer, but if the brilliant engineers working for all these contractors/MIC turned their creative talents toward improvments to save the earth, instead of 50 ways to destroy humanity and the planet...then you would really have something of note.
