If the GOP thinks that union-bashing is going to GET them votes, they must be smoking some of the drugs they are so vehemently against! Will moves like this not drive out MORE union- and former union workers to vote AGIANST them?!
I am no GOP strategist, but I see they are doing all the WRONG things!

This scenario reminds me of the game of croquet the Queen of Hearts and Alice played in Alice in Wonderland when the lower deck of cards were "painting the roses red" while the queen rewrote the rules of the game—all the while leaving Alice to struggle with a pink flamingo for a mallot and a hedgehog for a ball. The game was rigged against Alice. In this case it is rigged against the taxpayers.
All this is happening when Benjamin Fulford, former Forbes Asian corespondent, says that 122 countries have signed onto a lawsuit against the Illuminati cabal that has stolen treasuries and gold from multiple countries including the United States. If this story is actually TRUE, AND IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IF IT WERE, then why haven't we heard about it on RT? Of course we would not hear it on the cabal-run MSM, but it would be great if we could hear it on Thom Hartmann. I do not have the sources to vet this but Benjamin Fulford has (had?) creds as the Asian corespondent for Forbes Magazine. If it is true this could be the beginning of the biggest take down of the powerbroker evil cabal that runs our banking system (and the world financial markets)—which would make it the leading story of the millennia.

Because corporate America has not grown past the Ivan Boesky model. That only builds bubbles to deflate them. A destructive form of business practiced by Matt Romney. You see when the top 1% want to control the world, it is not possible to accept a business model that promotes massive wealth. It is simple in the last 12 years trillions of dollars have been transferred through fraud and hostile takeover. All of the employees of this country in the 60s 70s 80s 90s that invested in pension plans have been targeted by artful takeover artists. Who use those funds to change laws to allow them to dig deeper into the inherent equity of the American taxpayer. I assume the reason the Democrats went along with this bill, there has to be something they wanted. Because once the Democrats fall away from supporting unions and workers with insurance and retirement savings plans our economy is doomed.
I see no point in denying reality...that is never a good idea...that said I think we need to face up to this reality....the Oligarchs are on the verge of essentially realizing their life-long dream of destorying ALL unions...here in the US and the world...but particularly here in the US. The real question for me is how bad do things need to get....how much do people need to suffer before they REALLY right back...using ANY MEANS NECESSARY.. OWS may be that answer...I pray it is
I'd love to think Crooked banks will pay big time but I very much doubt that Last 30 yrs in US Wall ST-Corps - likes of the Kochs Bros run our Fed, our economy, our con courts, our very lives. Voters put the people in power who passed these wealth favoring policies..that led to global disaster , depression, long wars based on lies, TARP scam, Reaganomics Bush GOP deregulation policy, huge UN funded corp perks.& tax cuts. I am afraid for my grand childrens' future.
The herpes virus obviously attacked the auditory nerve -- sounds pretty scary. In this case I would not be too concerned about a negative effect by moderate trumpet playing. I even have hope, the damage might better over the years, because nerves do find new ways to connect to each other.... You must have found Miss G's profile as artist, but wonder how? Must we forget that Unions became most effective during periods of recession and depression? Why - because goverments send the message that one should simply be lucky to have a job. Rights are forgotten - even by those in goverment.Why? It was a stroke alright...a stroke of bad luck! I don't know what it was....scalp got itchy in a line right across the top of the scalp from ear to ear. Then my ears started to ring...and haven't stopped ringing..got much worse over the years....tinnitus..I think it is called. The doctors mentioned they thought it was shingles..no...not from my roof ;-}
Well, after several years of not touching my trumpet...I try it out this evening. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Still have a pretty good tone..but has been better. Fingering still good. Played a few old favorites from my Jazz Fake Book. But I didn't last long. Lips tire easily. Going to have to build up on it. Funny thing that my trumpet doesn't sound as loud as before...I wisely play without hearing aids. Many years ago, I listened to mostly classical music and have a lot of cassettes of classical music but I don't really listen to music, any music, much anymore. Sometimes when I hear some music..I think how much I have missed not listening to music. I mostly listen to talk shows....pod-casts...all liberal or progressive. Maybe that's why I am such an uptight paranoid. Don't watch much TV either except some shows like Bill Maher...and some things on Free Speech TV or Link TV. Spend a lot of time leaning new things, like various programming languages and everything on technology, via tutorials and college and university classes on YouTube. I think getting back into playing my trumpet will be good for me. How is Miss G? Peggy? That's quite a story..saving the bird and keeping it as a pet all those years.

Just got this e-mail from the Washington Post and I'm going to read the whole column. There is a link to it at the bottom of this message.
Thirty-three members of Congress have steered more than $300 million in earmarks and other spending provisions to dozens of public projects that are next to or near the lawmakers' own property, according to a Washington Post investigation. Under the ethics rules Congress has written for itself, this is both legal and undisclosed.
In the first review of its kind, The Post analyzed public records on the holdings of all 535 members and compared them with earmarks members had sought for pet projects, most of them since 2008. The process uncovered appropriations for work in close proximity to commercial and residential real estate owned by the lawmakers or their family members. The review also found 16 lawmakers who sent tax dollars to companies, colleges or community programs where their spouses, children or parents work as salaried employees or serve on boards.

I'm sure that cash strapped states just want the money at this point, but it doesn't have to be that way. They can fine them and prosecute them criminally, but then I'm sure Republican controlled states won;t do that to their good buddies. Would be nice though cause then maybe fewer of them will contribute to pac funds? Wishful thinking on my part. We have a long way to go to end corruption that has been going on since the beginning of time.
I'm feeling optimistic that at least if the Fed won't do anything the states will, at least some of them.
Contrition and compassion will reign supreme in the final episode of this play which is nearing it's finale. Arrogance and unrepentant defiance will earn the last few of them sentences that cannot be satisfied in a jail cell in this lifetime or many other lifetimes. Mark my words, several courageous members of the banking community will come forward and expose those secret, inside mechanisms. We need to assure them amnesty. Others will follow them. A chain reaction will ensue. Hopefully all of them will see what they have done, ask for forgiveness and help us take down this house of cards and start anew with a completely clean slate. Coulove
