It should come as no surprise that the corporate party's (R) faction has no decent candidates.
Corporate money manufactures retrograde Republicans to GOTV for its corporate money manufactured depraved "Best & Brightest" Democrats, to get greater evil done well.
If Democrats were the Solution, we wouldn't have the Problems.
Brilliant article, great strategy. Most important is to get the word out to everyone you know, post it everywhere you can think of. Our weakest point is that we have a politically uneducated populace.
When people are made to understand they DO have the ability to make changes, and they are shown ways to do so, they will acquire the motivation to get involved. I hope this message gets spread far and wide.
Thanks also to Anonymous : perhaps forcing the paper ballot will indeed give us some of our democracy back.
They can't stay out in streets and parks during winter. Haven't they got wealthy friends who have places to install containers? Or even apartments....
Anyway, I think the occupy movement needs home bases in houses.
Personally all this changed me as blogger and I consider this my occupier-development. I had been very dissatisfied and impatient with the stupidity of writing on ordinary Classic Hollywood topics. I considered my readers silly and I hated that. The occupy idea really helped me: I stayed in the 30s, but concentrated on 30s protest and intellectualism. And I connected this to the modern occupy suject. If I now review a 30s movie, I already had reviewed in 2010, the result is entirely different -- very political. I am very happy with this development.
Hopefully it will remain nonviolent I lived through Kent State not good.Through out the world we are seeing movements against injustice which will lead us all to some day to truly have peace on earth and good will to everyone on earth. Merry Christmas Tom you do a great service
OWS is one of the best political movements since The Sons of Liberty got things going during the late 1760's. However as Samuel Adams realized movement serenity is dangerous. Clever and potent acts of civil disobedience are needed....... "EVENTs", to keep things alive. Talk of a large march on Washington is a great focus.....but we need the modern day Samuel Adams and Dr. Warren types to help keep the action side stoked. The movement certainly has plenty of great thinkers!

"...in 2012, if you vote for the Democratic nominee for president, you better have a moral justification that is SO good that it is a) worth killing innocent people who don't threaten you, b) transferring wealth to the rich and well connected, and c) the complete suspension of your right to privacy and such basic rights as protecting your child from being touched by a government official with the full force of the law behind him as he just follows his orders."
Initially sounds like a good plan..ie: registering as a Republican for a year just to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries...in order to get Ron Paul to face Obama in the debates...so that Ron Paul will not let Obama evade or avoid the important issues. But, I wonder, how would that affect gerrymandering...would it help us or hurt us? It would sure confuse the heck out of some. I guess if Republicans can masquerade as Democrats and get away with swaying legislation in favor of the 1% then we should be able to play that same game and win some for the people for a change.
We sure can't let Obama get away with avoiding the real issues. If you vote for Obama...you are voting for the ruling elite....just as much as you would be if you voted Republican. Because Obama is a covert Republican who ran as a Democrat.
There is sufficient national acrimony and inequities to fuel a whole series of Occupy-like moments, but there needs to be a distillation of the reasons for the 1%~99% disparities and how to resolve them. Some locales are still to scatter-shot in their "demands" to 1) make substantive headway on almost anything, and 2) to garner community support as they come of as being just a gaggle of malcontents. The reasons for the the 99% need to be made clear, and actions in resolusion need to be defined and focused and unified. Attend the town meetings of those who talk of Americanism, yet prop up the financial and power elites. Call them out. Show them for the hypocrites and corporate lackeys they are and then offer an option, a path, a way to keep their misdeeds in the spotlight. Like Thom says, "Tag; you're it."

I'd love to see some Occupy candidatesto knock the Tea Baggers out of office;
I also want to see an amendment repealing CItizens United;
I'd love to see the Supreme Court occupied, especially the activist conservative justices.
