Use the system against them...a kind of leveraging. It is THEIR corrupted system that allows for mega-corporations, and too big to fail institutions, so let's use their system against them and buy only from the biggest mega-corporations (which in reality is, owner-wise, much, much smaller than the totality of all of the other millions of other businesses who are owned by, most likely, an overwhelming majority of Republicans. Make them, them majority of smaller business owners suffer for their pro-capitalist/anti-worker proclivities. You see they want your business but they don't want you to know that they are really working against your best interests in supporting Republican ideals. They don't put up signs in front of their establishments saying that they are Republicans, hate progressives, and want to shift the tax burden on to you, and want to destroy the social programs like social security....but they should...and if they did...would you buy from them anyway?
If we can put the hurt on all of those millions of Republican-leaning smaller business owners...we can send a very strong message that might actually make a big difference in the way this country, and the world, is headed. Maybe it should be a world-wide boycott.
The history of this country has been nothing but class war. The politicians (R or D) are all playing to their constituents, and so we must defend both. They've been good about keeping us happy by providing us with false promises. However, capitalism is cannibalistic in nature, it is like an addict who will do anything for that next fix. Apparently, many wells have run dry and now they're after the retirement money! What the people of this country (not GE or Verizon, etc...) pay for with tax money. Boycott is a great idea, but much more will have to happen in order to get satisfying results like: health care for all, the end to our oversea wars, the end to the drug war, a fully functioning and vibrant education system, and a home (Earth) that is safe and clean and can provide life and joy to the generations to come. But, like I said, this is going to have to be a struggle for the history books.

The fact of the matter is that Obama is just complying with his constituents demands, his constituents, of course, not being the American people. It's no secret that corporations run the show, they have for a long time in this country. The citizens of this nation are not all as stupid as what these politicians (democrat or republican...they both take the same ball of $#!+ and wrap it in different color paper) would have us believe. We have been slow to respond because our standard of living has not been compromised for too many--for now anyways. But if these politicians continue to have their eyes down on us with their hands up to the owners of this country I think we will have a serious crisis on our hands. People are becoming fed up. I know many patriotic military service members (WWII to Afghanistan), many being in my family, who have never questioned their government before start to become skeptical about what it is they're hearing. I know teachers, business owners, professionals, general laborers, most who didn't care about politics before but are most defiantly good Americans, who are becoming fed up with being lied to, treated like an idiot, and talked down to. Obama was right, we will have change, it's just probably not what any of us were expecting. Such is life.
--I hope one day we will recognize our common bond of being human.

I truly wish it wasn't so but how many times do you have to kick a dog before that dog realizes his master is not his friend. Obama may be owned by his masters but the rest of can see what is plain as day that he is being used in the class war against the majority of Americans. Wouldn't it really be something if Obama surprises us all and decides not to seek reelection?
2950-10k: I'm with you, I'll vote Green! Now if we can get all of those other Americans that are really, really ticked off about the corrupt one-party (Republican/Democrat--Republocrats?) having ruined our country then we might actually be able to change things in our favor...for a change. It would show these rich people that money can't buy everything...even the Presidency. They'll blast us with flashy eye-candy ads and propaganda to frighten us...as they have been anyway...but it'll be more concentrated as we near election time. We have to stand firm on not voting for either Republican or Democrat...even if it risks that a Republican can get into office if people chicken out and fall for the Democrat psy-ops propaganda. I can't imagine that any hard working American or, especially now, retirees will vote for either Republican or Obama the faux Democrat.
Maybe we really do need to have a nationwide boycott....it is really ticking of Israel...and they are getting desperate...and my suggestions of a boycott in this country seems to be making some people nervous as well...
So, as I said in yesterday's blog...why not put the hurt on all of those masses of businesses who have sided with those who want to destroy our social programs...the Republicanistas? One way to do that would be to buy all of your products at....Walmart? Walmart is the largest employer and the probably the worst exploiter and also would likely love to see social security be destroyed...so why buy only from them? Because people are already buying largely from them because their prices are usually cheaper and because even though they are huge...they are really tiny compared to all of those other merchants who are probably Republican...or at least want to see the tax burden shifted off them onto their consumers and are probably also for sacking the social insurance programs. So let's put the hurt on the majority of our enemies (they started the class war...we didn't!). We would be using one of theirs against the rest. And lastly, we have to buy necessary things from someone anyway...just shift and concentrate your money away from those masses of Republican business owners who are screwing you.
I have always said that Bill Clinton was our best Republican president in my lifetime. I definitely think that Barack Obama has him beat. We the American people, are obviously better able to agree than the corporate politicians. That really does scare them. If only we will get a Candidate and a majority to agree to the basic steps necessary for average Americans ( the vast majority) to thrive. Then WE can primary him/her. We must find a basic cohesiveness and a will to rally. We can agree on the important things. Please lets "get rid of the bums" and build upon that. No more money in politics is a great start and our best chance.
This independent has never voted republican and never will, however if Obama and the Democrats cut one single social program and give in to O tax increases on the rich, I swear I'll vote Green Party from now until the grave. UNLESS
How about a Sanders/ Spitzer ticket?
I've been saying for years that Clinton was the best Republican since Eisenhower and if the above quote is right, I am the least suprised guy in the room.
Both parties are selling us down the river. Obama could have stopped all this bs years ago by consistently trashing the Bush /Cheney Presidency . He should have had an attack dog threatning to arrest the two lying bastards. That would have kept the Republicans at bay and prevented them from taking over Congress at the mid term election.

I wouldn't say he's a Republican, but my 97 year old mother may well have been right when she said he was cool and detached. The way I see it, in 2008 America wanted a Captain Kirk. Someone of action who would take big steps to turn this country around. Instead we got a Mr. Spock. This is a man who mistakenly thinks logic and reason can win emotionally-based arguments.

A modest proposal -
Given that the Tea Partiers oppose "wealth redistribution" and given that much of the federal tax wealth is re-distributed from the wealthier Blue states to the poorer Red states, let's add a restriction to the current negotiations that requires that federal funds are distributed in proportion to their collection. Let's make the tea partiers put their money where their mouth's are.
And let's give it an apple-pie name like: "The Ending Unfair Wealth Redistribution Act"

Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Obama and his friends know the left believes they have no where else to go, and they frankly could care less.
What if, knowing that the Republicans will be against anything the president supports, that is why the Pres is approving of the gang of 6 offerin? That way he looks like he is willing to negotiate, yet the Republicans will stubbornly refuse to agree to anything he agrees to.

ALEC is the facist 'rule' in place in America! It allows the pre-vote of corporations before legislation is presented in Congress.
