I'm getting a repeat of the first hour, instead of the third hour--both on KTLK and KPOJ.
I was in Portland Oregon last week and, as we explored the city, we noticed several people talking to themselves. Full on conversation - not just quick comments. It got to the point that we joked about it - something in the water maybe.
Incidentally, LOVE Portland! Can't wait to go back!

Having once taught at a private, religious school, I saw how student selection was carried out. The student's records were examined by the enrollment committee. The student was interviewed, then the parents were interviewed. Anyone not meeting the criteria was rejected. This is what will happen in voucher schools. The schools with the best test scores will be chosen by parents who only know how to judge by test results. Those "best" schools will pick and choose students who do not exhibit LD/BD problems and who have good test scores. Other students' parents will take whatever they can get, and the cycle of poor student parents will be passed on to poor student children, perpetuating the permanent underclass that we have know. The unskilled labor pool will continue to be vast and cheap, but those who feed off of them will send their kids to Groton.
It should be pointed out to the religious right that schools who accept vouchers will have to comply with the STATE's curriculum. One of the reasons for starting a religious school is to prevent this. For example, here in Ocean County NJ, there is one ethnic group who's religion oriented schools do not even allow boys and girls to ride the same school buses. A school in the KC area teaches creation "science" rather than Darwin. Another school teaches no sex education, at all. Still another teaches a black power agenda. These can all be forced to change if the government decides to interfere, much the way the government mandates motorcycle helmet laws by witholding highway funding to those who reject helmet laws.

In the United States, Islam is the fastest growing religion, a trend fueled mostly by immigration. There are 5 million to 7 million Muslims in the United States. They make up between 10,000 and 20,000 members of the American military.
Army Chaplain (Capt.) Abdul-Rasheed Muhammad is a Muslim Imam stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. In his chaplaincy, he ministers to all faiths.
Imam Muhammad said Muslims all believe in the Five Pillars of the Faith. “The foundation of the faith, or Shahada, is the testimony in the belief in one God and that Muhammad is the messenger of God,” he said.
Another of the pillars is prayer. Muslims pray to Allah five times a day, at dawn, midday, afternoon, evening and night. Wherever they are, they bow in the direction of Mecca, the Saudi Arabian city where Muhammad was born, for their prayers.
Charity is another pillar, Imam Muhammad said. “One gives a minimum of 2.5 percent of their wealth to the Islamic community yearly,” he said.
Another requirement is fasting during the month of Ramadan each year. Ramadan begins Nov. 18 this year.
Finally, Muslims are expected, if possible, to make a pilgrimage to Mecca once in a lifetime. This is the Hajj to the Grand Mosque.

"The Physical Analyzer allows visualization of both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth. In addition, location information from GPS devices and image geotags can be mapped on Google Maps."

Not only is public school a right, but we have a duty to make it the best it can be. We've been derilict in that duty for some time now. We as a nation are only as strong (competitive) as our weakest link. If our schools are left to deteriorate, then what does that say about our nation? What does that leave for the future?

Rich Mullins before a concert spoke some words. He said that if you want a religion, Christianity is not for you. He is right. Our God came upon earth as a human being to die for our sins. What our awesome God did for you and me, He showed an undivided love for us. He died for our sins so that we could some day be with Him in heaven. He showed no greater love than to die for us. Well, of course, the fascist governor of Michigan learned how well it worked for the fascists in getting Obama elected President. And if you say anything against "those people" (the people given positions based partially, at least, on the fact that they were once-and perhaps still to some degree-an exploited race) they can play the race card. I believe that a lot of people sometimes try too hard to compensate, perhaps, for our disdainful and ugly history. So they will empathize and the empathizees know that they can take advantage of it. It works for the Zionists as well and doubly so because they have a large base of Christians, or other guilt-ridden people freaked out over the holocaust, who help proselytize and/or excoriate those who would dare say anything bad about them. But the white taskmasters also know they can use this to their advantage against the rest of us. But the thing is...we're all blacks now!....to some degree, anyway. There are liberal apologists who get really upset unless you use the politically correct language and dance around some subjects. I've heard Thom bristle at the use of the term.."those people" so I just wanted to make it clear that when I used that term I was not referring to the whole race. And I do acknowledge that there are some very racist people who use a lot of very disparaging terms. Most of us, I believe, try very hard not to let racism creep in and try very hard to see things as they are. Of course racism is not a one way street...many blacks, or other "minorities" (can I still say that word "minorities" without having my knuckles rapped by the PC stick?) can be and are very racist against whites..or other races. But I really don't think that being half black will buy Obama much this time around.(I know this is a surprise for some people but Obama is also half white...maybe it is his white side that accounts for the two-faced, cowardly, double-cross that would go along with the history of how white man conquered the original Americans) Aside from those who voted for him last time partially because they just wanted to see a black man as President....Obama had convinced most people on the ideals he ran on. But it has turned out that he was either being used by the ruling elite or he was not being truthful with his voters...or both. A lot of people want to become doctors...not because they really want to help people (although they will lie about this on their resumes or interviews)....but because they think there is a lot of prestige and money in it. And to get there...they have to work hard and earn their degrees. The path to any political position is mostly based on working hard to convince people you are an upstanding and righteous person with lots of integrity and that you will work to help the people who voted for you. Obama went through all the necessary hoops to convince people of all of those things...but it was only after he got to the top when you see the real Obama. His pretenses in "helping the poor" in Chicago and elsewhere was just a rung in the ladder of success....part of the charade to convince people (potential voters) that you are a righteous guy. Most people now see Obama as a pushover who has no fortitude to really take on the rich. I believe he also knew that the people who voted for him were only stepping stones to power and a little bit of wealth for him as well. He's young and even if he doesn't make it to the 2nd term...he has done the ruling elite enough "favors" to warrant himself a cushy sinecure job in some Fortune 500 firm....or start his own Political Bribery outfit on Capitol Hill.
TRUE patriots, like Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, et al, aren't just rolling over in their graves; they are actively trying to claw their way out!
There is only one reason that the "government" is spying on ALL of us rather than trying to trace the "terrorists" to their likely hangouts. It is because they know, despite all they tell us, that globalization will NOT improve the lives of the majority of the people. Instead, it will drive us into abject poverty while a few all-powerful overlords proceed to (as Teddy Roosevelt put it) “skin” us of our natural resources for their exclusive profit. They know that this will make them tremendously unpopular, so they will monitor us closely to prevent and repress any “peasant revolts”.
Why else would the Patriot Act define people that “interfere with commerce” as terrorists? So they can suppress political activists, that’s why. This is already happening. Some activists who have picketed certain industries are harassed and threatened. At least one was arrested, labeled a terrorist, tried as a terrorist, and imprisoned in a “Communication Management Unit” where all his communication with family, visitors, the media, the mail, internet contact with like-minded individuals – essentially the rights guaranteed under the First Amendment. – was severely restricted. This kind of treatment may be what Bradley Manning is experiencing even now. Soldiers, who believe in the Just War theory, are not free to apply this theory to the wars the United States prosecutes without severe penalty. They are not free to opt out of a war that they consider unjust. They are not free to choose to follow their conscience and take a noncombatant role without the likelihood of being put in prison. As John Paul II said in Evangelium Vitae, "To refuse to take part in committing an injustice is not only a moral duty; it is also a basic human right." Our government at this time refuses to recognize this right when it comes to our armed forces.
Vatican II proclaimed, "It seems right that laws make provisions for the case of those who for reasons of conscience refuse to bear arms, provided however, that they accept some other forms of service to human community." And the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has a long-standing statement supporting Selective Conscientious Objection.
As John F. Kennedy wrote in 1946, soon after returning from war:
"War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today."
Help bring that distant day closer by praying and acting in any, or all, the ways noted in this action alert during this Memorial Day weekend.

For three days before I flew recently, I went on a strict diet of baked beans, cabbage, lutefisk, limburger cheese, hard boiled eggs, and habanero peppers. By the time I got to the front of the "Do you want a full-body-scan or a full-body pat down" line, I was almost bursting with the effort of holding in my gaseous emissions. I think there may have been something about the look in my eye when I raised my arms for the pat-down, because that poor TSA guy did not look happy. My first few farts were tentative silent-but-deadlies, but by the time the TSA guy had gotten his first whiff of them, I couldn't contain it any longer and let loose with a thunderous series of the loudest farts my wife says she has ever heard in her life, (which is saying something, because her father was Irish and her mother was Italian). When that poor TSA guy leaned over to grope around my butt cheeks, I basically blasted him off his feet. Have you ever noticed how some airport security areas are all concrete, so that any loud sounds are echoed almost forever? Every person in the lines was laughing so hard that many of them were falling to the floor.
Two other TSA guys came over and helped my groper to his feet, when I cut loose with an even louder series of deafening-but-deadlies, and they basically ran for cover, yelling at me that I was cleared to go. I heard one of them mutter, "I wouldn't waterboard that guy if Dick Cheney himself told me to," and I have to say that it heartened me to hear such a patriotic statement.
Interesting thing about the flight, It was completely full, with every seat taken, but for some reason every person within fifteen feet of me went and sat on someone else's lap for the entire flight, and after coming within range of my emissions, the flight attendants let them do so. One of them told me that I should be forced to wear a catalytic converter.
"Not a bad idea," I said, "but I think I would rather that America returned to its old system of government, I'm trying to think what it was... Oh yes, I remember now: it was a democracy."
