We must all thank Nicole Sanders. Yesterday she stood up for truth and the outcome was telling of the tyrannical path the corp. sponsored republican/tea party is taking us down. Can you say Germany 1930's! What's next, gas chambers for constituents asking their teabag reps. legitimate questions? The media will ignore this huge story. Imagine if Limpbawl had this happen to him at a townhall meeting?

Go Vermont, you could be the first state to catch up with the rest of the world regarding health insurance reform, because you're exercising EXCEPTIONALISM on a state's level. What a bold display of true representative government! I can't wait to watch the republican hypocrites make a mockery out of their "states rights" platform now. The dominos are set to fall! Maybe I'm being fussy, but I call this HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM. The term Obamacare is a slick spin by mass media to divert attention away from the real problem which was HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES NEEDING REFORM. Even if administered by the state, it's still a form of Health Insurance....WITHOUT the CEO and BANKSTER parasites. It's a fine example of functional democracy.
I hate to tell you - but that is what Facsism is and how the Nazi's co-opted it. Same thing today but have different names. It is still Corporate Facism and the Neo-conservative Religious right hate machine have co-opted it in modern form.
I hear Texas is next OOPS! bad joke. It will become popular on the coasts, then migrate slowly through the rustbelt to Wisconsin and Minnesota (in the future). It will become popular elsewhere, only in other states ,if they have to pay for the uninsured without help from the Feds. States like Mississippi will only care when the "income redistribution" stops going to them.

Obama said, "I already posted it on my web site, but then I got bored with it so I deleted it. But everyone saw it and you know it you Australian, so don't try to change the subject."
Trump said, "But you just said I was Canadian."
Obama said, "There you go again, changing the subject, you Frenchman. I have proof that you are from Croatia, you Balto-Slavic Irishman."
I wish that they had something like this in California. I would consider moving there.

Women who stay at home for years have no recourse- safety net if the marriage ends - or husband gets sick or dies .She becomes helpless Its grand for moms to be home with kids, but not as simple as some make it sound. I sat for my grandson when my daughter got a job when he was 7 SO child & mom had best of both worlds. I stayed home till my kids were older, then became a Realtor . But without my husbands support I could not have done so .If I was a single, divorced mom..I'd be up a creek .

It might interest you to know that I am formally a Buddhist but I do know my Bible tolerably well and it is vey clear that at Aldous Huxley pointed out in "The Perennial Philospphy" that the mystical cores of all the world religions is driving towards the same end point no matter how the different the exoteric aspects of these traditions seem.
Equally Thom's mentor Herr Muller would have uterly disapproved of the clearly immmoral behaviur of the US government and the people it works for ( the ultrawealthy).
I do think that all these "The U.S.is antichrist " type statements obscure as much as they reveal. Everybody I know comments on how courteous and kind Americans are on a one to one basis- and most of my cultural heroes originate from the US. It pays to be very clear that the Cabal who has hijacked government in the US and hypnotised the mass of people into immobility is not to be confused with the people of the US itself. The samevery much applied to Nazi Germany but I am afraid that the powerbrokers in the US are every bit as dangerous to liberty and decwency as the Nazi Party was.
We are all hoping for the day when the US people will wake up and shrug off the current power structure.

Good for you Vermonters! I hope that single payer health care spreads like a fast moving good virus across america. Then the for-profit health insurance companies won't have a vested interest in making sure we stay sick and get sicker. How can they continuously "predict" that the health industry will expand rapidly in the near future, are they psychic? What do they know about it that they are not telling us?
Natural health alternatives must also be included in the single payer coverage. Many illnesses such as lupus, chronic chemical sickness and other auto-immune diseases respond much better to natural healing methods than western drug-based symptom treatment. Paying out of pocket for natural health practitioners, therapies and herbs gets expensive very quickly.
It's funny that I'm also annoyed by the use of CE and BCE instead of AD and BC. And I'm an atheist! I'm annoyed at the people who are offended that the era is named after the guy whose birth it's based on.
If I had my way, we'd use "TJ"--tempore Jesu (in the time of Jesus)--using his name, not his controversial title. We could take advantage of the change in terminology to change the numbers too; make 1 BC into 0 TJ, 2 BC in to -1 TJ, etc. Having a year zero would make the math easier.
Thom had a woman on his show who believes woman should stay home as homemakers. I agree but in our country two incomes are necessary for a family to survive. This necessity started with Reagan’s tinkle on me economics. IF OUR FASCIST CEOS PAID MEN MORE MONEY, THEIR WIVES COULD REMAIN IN THE HOME.
@JayKayGee43: You are right in that we need to unify against the greedy and selfish powers that have been waging war against us all for at least 40 years now. It is a class war that we didn't start...but we must finish with a victory for the people..otherwise many of us, and our children, will die in poverty, sickness, and starvation. One thing we have to be very cautious of is that we don't want to be "taken over" by forces that really are not going to act in our best interests. One example is when the Koch brothers fund the Tea Party and they get distracted by things that are really sideline issues...the rich know that all they have to do is "divide and conquer" by using emotional issues that distract from our main goals of food and shelter which comes about when people have good paying jobs, good affordable health services, and decent shelters...none of which we will have in the future unless we do something really drastic. I am in the same boat as everyone else...I don't know exactly what that something "really drastic" is nor would I want to do something stupid and be a martyr for a bunch of hypocrite and ungrateful sheep who bleat out nasty names about you for having acted on conviction. We need to act in unison or not at all and the first stirrings can only happen when we communicate. When no one speaks up about their plight we will continue to spiral down the black hole of oblivion until it is too late for a reversal of the situation. At first, they came for the Jews...and I said nothing because I wasn't a Jew....then they came for.......Who's knocking at your door?

I do agree with much of what you say..yet not exactly with the religious overtones...but that's ok...I sure feel the same way and can see the "evil" and hypocrisy that has taken over our country. We all have to unite, despite any distracting differences, to fight the powers that are destroying lives. The one thing we all have in common is we all need to eat..have a shelter..and had good health care. And it looks like the powerful few in the world believe that we are all peons that get in the way of their delusions of grandeur. Well, the Arabs, at least are showing the world, and setting a good example, of kicking those greedy bastards from their thrones...and we need to do the same thing. We need to kick the bums out of office who we have voted for and who have not made good on their campaign rhetoric...change we can believe in...instead of more of the same. We need to grab the reigns of the unpatriotic corporations who are outsourcing our jobs. We need to throw out the bums who have our health system in shackles...the insurance companies. We need to break the backs of the FIRE (Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate) economy to once again restore a production/manufacturing economy. We need to kick some Wall Street and Banker's butts and restore their ill-gotten gains back to the people. Revolution? YES!!!

What a hypocrite President Obama is after supporting, or at least being pushed around by, elements in our own government that have grossly skirted the law, or even broke the law to the extent that they committed war crimes and others have wrecked our Nation's economy. He doesn't say much about banks and corporations that get away with bribing politicians and avoids confronting the issue of war crimes by his predecessor...even continues the same criminal policies of his predecessor. Just who the hell is President Obama think he is anyway, the President of the US? Technically yes. But in my book never again. Obama is just another hypocrite politician full of lies. As Mr. Scheer said in his article "Why indeed is Manning the one behind bars and not the government officials who kept hidden unpleasant truths about this nation’s policies that the public has a right to know?" "It is obvious that Manning is being punished because government officials don’t like to be shown to be so deeply in the wrong."
If it weren't for "whistleblowers" we would all be even more so at the mercy of the criminals yet Obama has spent much of his time trying to indict "whistleblowers".
It may be a big wish but as great as this country has been at taking care of its citizens, at least up until Reagan, this should be something people in this country deserve and will vote to get.

Homeless woman due in court on charges she illegally enrolled son in CT school
A homeless Connecticut woman is due in court Wednesday on charges she illegally enrolled her son in a Norwalk school - a polarizing case that sparked national debate.
Tanya McDowell, 33, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny for stealing $15,686 - the estimated value of her son's education. The 6-year-old boy was enrolled at Norwalk's Brookside Elementary School between January and McDowell's April 14 arrest.
