The American right are socialists in one area. Yes, the conservatives are really socialists.

    Suicide

As a Catholic I have been taught that to commit suicide is a mortal sin and the soul is damned for eternity. This teaching is clear and concise. There should be no problem with the issue of suicide.

An American soldier committed suicide because he refused to torture Iraqi prisoners. As a human being I would not damn this soldier’s soul for all eternity. I am not God and I will have no say in this soldier’s soul and the destiny of his soul. The American soldier in my opinion with his refusal to torture Iraqi prisoners was practicing the Golden Rule and he was obeying the Eleventh Commandment. I look upon this soldier as a true Christian.

The judgment of his soul is in God’s hands.

We have many issues before us that are not clear and concise. There are many issues that have factors, situations, and variables to make our judgment of another person very difficult.

I find it interesting that at least three times this morning that CNN radio news reported what would happen if the Bush Tax Cuts expire. . Don't they listen to their own news. No one is saying, let the tax cuts expire. The president is only saying, "let the tax cuts on the top 2% expire". So now, CNN is reporting hypotheticals, as news.

Wonder why? Why now, 4 months before they are set to expire?

Couldn't have anything to do with influencing the upcoming elections; could it? Couldn't have anything to do with trying to confuse the voters, making them think that the Democrats are trying to raise taxes on everyone; could it?

Yes, this is becoming a nation of CEOs.

To deny all morality is to be moral

To deny all morality is to be moral, for the accepted morality is the morality of respectability, and I'm afraid we all crave to be respected - which is to be recognised as good citizens in a rotten society. Respectability is very profitable and ensures you a good job and a steady income. The accepted morality of greed, envy and hate is the way of the establishment. When you totally deny all this, not with your lips but with your heart, then you are really moral. For this morality springs out of love and not out of any motive of profit, of achievement, of place in the hierarchy. There cannot be this love if you belong to a society in which you want to find fame, recognition, a position. Since there is no love in this, its morality is immorality. When you deny all this from the very bottom of your heart, then there is a virtue that is encompassed by love. --- J. Krishnamurti

    Popularization of Ignorance
Chris Hedges has the most concise, eloquent way of summarizing our societies’ issues into one sentence talking points.

We Are at a Moment of Cultural Shift from a Print Based Culture to a Image Based Culture. Losing the value of information that is based on Verifiable Fact. The normal mechanisms to stop the rapid spread of misinformation and hate no longer work or are no longer there. The Media is playing completely to Emotion.

Facts and Reality are Irrelevant. They believe what they want to believe. So People retreat to Intellectual Ghettos, Where they reinforce their own prejudices. With Two Enemies: Internally: The person who asks uncomfortable questions. AND The External Enemy, who is defined by the group as “The Other.”
It’s not what’s true, it’s what people are told is true. There is A Frightening Campaign of demonization of American Citizens who happen to be Muslim. Because, If it’s not Goldman Sachs, then it has to be Muslims who are the villains.

"We are way past Dialogue! The only way to Blunt This Movement is through Re-enfranchisement of the underclass back into the economy." - Chris Hedges

It’s not about facts or Reality, It’s about a means of reaching people and mobilizing people.

I have an Examination of Conscience pamphlet that has the Ten Commandments and there are examples of what are mortal and venial sins.

Masturbation comes under the Sixth Commandment. Thou shall not commit adultery. Here is what the pamphlet has “masturbation or other impure acts with self” and “lust in the heart.” There are persons who masturbate and do not have lust in their heart. Masturbation is supposedly an impure act. I am reluctant to touch that issue because there may be reasons for masturbation and God will judge.

I did not see any mention of obesity in the pamphlet. Now morbid obesity may come under the Fifth Commandment. Thou shall not kill. Suicide falls under this commandment. A morbidly obese person may unconsciously want to die for some reason. Here again God will judge.

Masturbation and obesity are touchy subjects because there is so much to consider in these areas and so I will let God judge and decide.

As human beings we should let God be the judge. I am fed up with people who believe they know what is right and what is wrong. Our politicians are the biggest offenders of moral issues and judgment.

I am going to share with you some factual information. You can believe or not believe. Here are three examples. The first example was shared with me by a colleague. In college she had a friend or a classmate who shared personal information. The colleague knew that her friend was sexually active but she was unaware to the extent of sexual activity. They passed each other’s path after college. Both decide to have coffee and discuss their college experiences. Her friend revealed to my colleague that she was very much sexually active. In fact if the person treated her nicely after a date, she went to bed with him. In fact she went to bed with at least one hundred men. As her friend mentioned her college experiences, she began to cry and said that she has attracted vaginal herpes. To my limited knowledge about the disease it is incurable and flare up stronger at certain times than other times.

The second example is that of a flight attendant for an international airlines company. He had AIDS or the HIV disease. I do not know exactly what he had but it was a sexually transmitted disease. As he was dying from the disease, he was asked why he did not stop having sex with women all over the world. He said that he wanted sex with a woman and he was unable to stop himself from the pleasure of a woman’s company.

The third example is of a handsome hunk who met three women in a bar. They talked and one of the woman said that they should go to her place for coffee and cake. The four went to the apartment and when he said that he was going to leave, one of the woman pulled a gun on him and said that he was going to be with them for around the clock sex. From Friday night to Sunday night he was gang raped by three women. He was asked why he did not report the gang rape to the police he said that he wanted to first know if he caught some sexually transmitted disease. He also said who would believe him? A policeman who would be writing down the information would be probaly laughing inside of himself. Plus, how many men have not fantasized about a weekend sex orgy with three women?

I want to go through the three examples. With regard to the first example if I married someone with vaginal herpes, there may one or two days in the month for intimate sex but on the other days I would probably masturbate.

With second example if I knew that I had a sexually transmitted disease, I would not marry and I would probably masturbate for pleasure.

Now for the third example I would avoid conversation at a bar with three women. One woman is enough. She probably would be unable to rape me with or without a gun. In this day and age no one can be certain of another person and what disease or diseases they have or do not have.

I want to make one point perfectly clear that masturbation is not just a male thing. Women do also masturbate.

I share these examples because candid discussions about masturbation are important and necessary.

I do not know for certainty if I would be a chronic masturbator.

    2015

Gordon Thomas says in his book, “Seeds of Fire” that the USA and China will be involved in a nuclear holocaust around 2015. We have given the Chinese highly sensitive nuclear secrets. Now they will use these secrets to destroy America. America as a country will not be destroyed but America’s soul will be destroyed. America will destroy China with its 800+ bases that have several thousand missiles aimed at China and Russia.

The Bush Doctrine of preemptive nuclear wars will launch their weapons first. China will follow with her missiles. If we also launch these missiles toward Russia, she will follow with her missiles. China will have 1.3 billion people vaporized. Russia will have 200 million people vaporized. I do not know how many Americans will be vaporized.

America’s true character will forever be known as the leading terrorist nation on earth. There will be great rejoicing by Americans because America was not totally vaporized. America’s true latent behavior of her citizens will feel glorified through hatred, murders, torture, and wars. America’s soul will be tainted for all eternity and the majority of Americans will be damned. America’s true manifest destiny will have been completed. That manifest destiny is in the American psyche to murder as many people as possible.

With the deadly radiation blowing in the wind a total of maybe 2 billion people will be dead within ten to twenty years. Our students in their classrooms will be taught that America is a true pro-life nation. They will also be taught that Americans cherish life.

According to Bush torture outside of America is not really torture. He will now say that murders outside of America are not really murders. Crimes outside America are not really crimes.

What is very interesting we have a man going to jail for rape! A woman can rape a man or seduce a man and she does not go to jail but she does receive pleasure. Is this practice really fair for a man? Does a man have any real freedom from law enforcement officials?

    Masturbation

Is masturbation a new wedge issue to elect the conservative crazies? The crazies throw out various wedge issues but they exclude problems like wrong and immoral wars, mass murders, torture, deregulation, unfair tax breaks for the rich and our rich corporations, increase in poverty, homelessness, unemployment, offshore tax havens for the powerful to hoard more money, etc. We do not have a viable middle class. There is a sense of hopelessness in America.

Let us look at the poor, the middle class, and the working class in America. The only pleasures that these groups can experience are through eating and masturbating. These groups do not have the money to join a fitness center or a country club for golf, tennis, and swimming. Downhill skiing is also too expensive. Sailing and yachting are of the question and out of their price range. The answers for some pleasure within these groups are eating and masturbating.

Eating junk food with a high percentage of fat grams offers taste and joy. There is no cost in masturbating. These are moral issues and God will judge the person.

Is masturbation a better outlet for a man than raping a woman? Is masturbation a better outlet for a woman than seducing a man?

@MailManRuss, I'm sure Thom was referring to the right wing attempt to obfuscate the Democratic-Republican party, or Jeffersonian-Republican party that eventually morphed into the Democratic party, by taking the Republican part of the name and implying that that meant Jefferson was essentially a right winger. Its about as ludicrous as saying Lincoln would be proud of what the Republican party stands for today. It just completely ignores how the two parties evolved and in a lot of ways neither party is all that true to its roots.

Are corporate Democrats better than Republicans? Well they are more hesitant to blatantly rob the American people blind, so I guess that's better. They're also not all gung ho to rebrand our country as a christian country, I'd say that's better.

But on the other hand, yeah I get frustrated when 60 so called Democratic Sinistars.. er I mean Senators, can't get bills passed. Even if you discount the several DINO's, this should still not be the case. Yet don't go crazy, don't think about what the Democratic party isn't accomplishing, consider what the Republican party isn't accomplishing.

Just looked up the Republican Party on "Wiki" and it does show the proper origin of the party as being founded as an anti-slavery party in 1854 (July 6th to be exact).

Of course Jefferson was against big government. They had just cast aside a large overbearing government.

I find it humorous when callers equate the passage of healthcare to destroying the Constitution. These callers seem to exhibit a lack of faith in the Constitution they claim to hold so dear.
