This letter is an open letter to you. I will share with today’s experience. I call my letter, “The Waiting.” In the morning of July 23, 2010 I awoke in a cold sweat from a nightmare. As I was lying in bed, I felt my cold and seemingly lifeless body. I still possessed the feeling of touch and I was also aware of my thought processes. What brought about my nightmare was in part the waiting for the mid-term election in November, 2010. I also realized that the conservatives will regain both the House and the Senate. They currently control the Supreme Court, led by John Roberts and his Mafia gang. I also realized that the conservatives will take back the White House in January, 2013 and the fact that they would never again relinquish the three branches of government in the United States of Satan’s Disciples. January, 2013 will witness the final nail in the coffin of American democracy.
Since Reagan and through Obama the conservatives have been building a coffin for the majority of Americans. Americans had such high hopes with the election of Obama but it soon became apparent that he was not a progressive but a Clinton conservative. His DNA matched perfectly with the DNA of Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II. He carried on the policies and practices of conservatives to destroy the middle class and to put more money back into the coffers of the rich and corporatists.
Since Reagan and through Obama we have seen our nation turn her back on Christianity and replaced it with a combination of Bushianity and KKKristianity. The United States of Sodom and Gomorrah has embraced hatred, corruption, and lies. Our nation’s soul and the American souls have accepted to live in a natural hell while they await their judgment for a supernatural hell. We are also witnessing that our country is a totally controlled police state where killing you first is acceptable over communication to resolve our many problems. The United States of Hell has broken on a continual basis four commandments. These commandments are “Thou shall not kill; thou shall not steal; thou shall not lie; and thou shall covet thy neighbors’ goods or natural resources.”
Saint Jerome talked about life. Our life is attached by a single thread between heaven and hell. For each time we sin the thread is cut and we are in free fall into hell. If God hears our prayers, He will catch us and lift us back to the cut thread so we can tie together. Sinning cuts the thread and for each tying of the thread we find ourselves closer to God and heaven. My concern is that at some point God may not hear our prayers and we fall into the abyss of hell for eternity. As we are falling into hell, we die and we are judged unworthy to be with God and His communion of saints.
One of the true marvels in our world is Thom’s optimism. He continues to believe that the United States of Hell still has a future. Thom’s optimism has blinded him and his thought processes from reality and the United States of Hell’s manifest destiny to exterminate 6.3 of 6.8 billion people on earth and full fill the goal of the Project for a New American Century that believes our planet can only sustain five hundred million people. Thom is too entrenched in his optimism and belief system that the United States of Numb Nuts has a future.
The waiting is very painful in experiencing the demise of the United States of Where Shit Rises to the Top.
Going over your inventory of bumper music, and wanted to plug a for in for the anti-war song "Love Vigilantes" by New Order for a future segment dealing with one our numerous "wars."
If suggesting bumper music is taboo, my apologies.
I feel guilty that I have something so rare; a good-paying job performing (gasp!) MANUFACTURING! Also, I was on unenjoyment for six months back in '02, and I didn't just sit around doing nothing (mostly). When a temp job at a warehouse came up, I jumped at it! To my credit, what was supposed to be a week-long job lasted a whole month, because I did such a good job at it. Does that sound like lazyness to anyone else? Must be to the Righties, since if I'm such a hard worker, why am I not rich? I must also be stupid, too, if I'm a Liberal.

I didn't see the recent Robin Hood flick with Russell Crowe, but from what I read, it underplayed the "robbing the rich and giving to the poor" theme, choosing instead sweeping, large-scale battle scenes - a war paradigm. I can't speak for what I haven't watched, but if that's true, it's a good thing. Today, the last thing Americans want is someone robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Our social value system has been so corrupted by rampant debt under robber baron economics – a matrix dominated by the wealthy few, hidden from equity and social accountability by opaque multinational corporations and government regulations and tax laws skewed to favor the rich and powerful - that most of us don't even realize we have a national case of Stockholm Syndrome - we have fallen in love with the captors who are raping us. This is the horror of empire.
So a "hero" like Robin Hood is no hero at all. He's a wealth-redistributing communist.
His greatest critics are not the wealthiest, from whom he is stealing. Strangely, today the folks who complain the loudest are often the ones who wish they were wealthy, and want to be able to achieve it "without government interference." The "have-nots" have bought the lie that if they work hard enough in their forced-part-time shift at Walmart, they can reach the upper echelons of a classless society...
But we are not a classless society.
And the "equal opportunity" of early American land runs (genocide of native peoples, and regulated opportunity, primarily for whites, notwithstanding...) no longer exists amid firmly fixed geographic and economic boundaries of an aristocratic society-in-denial.
So the folks who believe in and pray most for the American Dream are the victims of a cruel myth. Yes, there are a few exceptions from time to time. These exceptions become the Results-Not-Typical-Token-Ad-Sweethearts who sadly perpetuate the myth, based on their own atypical success.
I would argue that no one earns $53,965,418.00. Especially when there are entire families struggling to survive on pennies, and they are working harder than many corporate-celebrity-CEOs, just to get by. In 2010, someone making $11,500 per year is living OVER the poverty line. In 2007, Lloyd C. Blankfein earned $53,965,418.00 as CEO of Goldman Sachs. That's 54 million dollars in a single year. That's hoarding resources.
This is nothing less than economic oppression.
Every town
has it's ups and downs
Sometimes ups
Outnumber the downs
But not in Nottingham...
The difference today between mythic Nottingham is that taxes were the fiend in that time. Today, it is the lack of government regulation that leaves powerless individuals at the mercy of corporations. Most large companies pay no income tax at all. They receive breaks for cutting wages, pensions, and health benefits, and for shipping jobs overseas. This is the tyranny of stock market corporatism: driving short-term gains in stock prices is more important than providing a quality product or service, or sustaining long-term viability. So call me a Marxist, but we need a Robin Hood today. Not one who righteously kills everyone who opposes him, but one who gets back to the ornery advocacy of robbing from the rich to give to the poor.
The "community center"( really mosque) should not be built on that particular site because: 1. the site is Historical due to someof the plane wreckage falling on it. 2: The Imam in charge of developing it will not specify where the funds to build it come from. 3. The Imam has close links to Hamas. 4. The building will be held in regard by Islam worldwide as a mosque built on a conqured land per the Koran. 5. the controversy surrounding the proposal has already proved to be divisive nationwide. I find it ironic that those who lable themselves progressive, pander to the religion which by far is the most repressive to other religions, women, gays, (try to hold a gay pride parade in downtown Mecca!) Thom, I agree with most of what you say on other issues, but on this one I'm to the Right.
Vilsack discriminated against Ms. Sherrod, and Vilsack did that by listening to only one perspective. Vilsack displayed clearly that he LACKED THE PRESENCE OF MIND to review with THOROUGHNESS the charge presented about her behavior!
And Vilsack LACKS that same PRESENCE OF MIND when it comes to a thorough review of the GMO facts and figures and missing safety research! Vilsack's CONSISTENT failure to be THOROUGH is absolutely DANGEROUS to all of us.
Vilsack favors CONSISTENTLY the opinions of the corporation's hired scientists and consistently ignores independent research and non-corporate science. He is discriminating against views outside the Corporate script and Corporations' profit-hungry growth curve view!
Is Vilsack a bagman for corporations? (Knee-jerk reaction perhaps to SIDE WITH CORPORATE FOX NEWS regarding Ms. Sherrod and her individual RIGHT to a fair review?) From my perspective, can Vilsack serve the Nation instead of the Corporations alone? NO.
VILSACK SHOULD RESIGN NOW!!!
Vilsack, leave your Dept. of Agriculture post.
The President needs to replace one trick pony Vilsack with someone with a DISCERNING MIND who can RESIST Corporate pressure to side with Corporations no matter what the corporations are promoting -- whether it is racism OR gene-spliced Frankenstein crops!
Whenever I see an article about the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a phrase similar to the following always seems to appear somewhere in the article:
"Conservatives fear that the if the new agency's regulations are too stringent, they may stifle financial product innovation."
But is that necessarily a bad thing? Back in the "Good Old Days" (i. e., pre-Reagan), when a man with a high school education and a blue-collar job could own a home, and send his kids to college without his wife having to take a job, the whole financial field of endeavour could be pretty well characterized by a single word - BORING! Nobody talked about, expected, or even really wanted innovation in the field of finance, bacause none was necessary. Back then, Americans made real, physical, consumer products, like clothing, appliances, furniture and cars. The best and brightest Americans were responsible for innovations in the fields of technology, manufacturing ands medecine, among others.
Nowadays, we've shipped most of our real industry offshore, predominantly to Asian countries. Kids who graduate College with Masters and Doctorates in fields like Physics have started taking jobs in finance, instead of industry, because that's where the most money is to be made. These bright young men began applying their brilliance to this previously boring sector, creating the "new and innovative" products like Derivatives and Credit Default Swaps, which in no small degree helped to crash the global economy.
So let's get some tough regulators appointed under the new Financial reform laws, rein in this kind of "innovation", and make banking boring again!
Regarding Bureau of Land Management official Wenker's comment that only horses in "bad condition" are euthanized:
HOW did the wild horses get in BAD CONDITION, Mr. Wenker? Could it be from BLM's treatment of them??? Such as--
:: Is it because of the BLM's violent method of rounding them up when they are in fouling season???
:: Is it because the BLM approves of putting the horses in pens without any SHADE cover?
:: Is it because BLM changes their diet to an inadequate diet???
:: Is it because BLM induces grave stress by separating families of horses and putting them in the genocidal situation of never living naturally again???
:: Is it because the BLM rounds them up with vehicles and helicopters and makes them fall in fright perhaps?
:: Is it because the BLM causes them transportation stress without adequate temperature control, without adequate water (the same way the meat producers transport cattle with the attitude that it doesn't matter because the cows are going to be slaughtered anyway?)???
How anyone can say that removing mustangs is necessary so that CATTLE CORPORATIONS can run even more cattle is unconscionable. Cattle overgraze the ecosystem. It is just the truth. Mr. Wenker is nothing but a P.R. FLACK FOR THE CATTLE INDUSTRY AND OIL INDUSTRY. Disgusting.
And those specious arguments:
Overpopulation: There is no horse overpopulation accept in the eyes of Cattle Corporations and the Meat Industry who want the land for cattle and the Oil Industry who want to sequester the open wild land for their industrial uses!
Horses cost too much to take care of: Leave them on the plains where they can take care of themselves!
This is wild animal GENOCIDE. And this WILDLIFE GENOCIDE in our protected horse country is not the only place this is being proposed; look at this:
Australian report (Nature Conservancy and Pew Environment [?!] Group) says killing millions of wild animals will control carbon problem? (But no discussion of human health destroying, grain consuming, over-grazing, water polluting, water wasting, methane producing billions of cattle and factory farmed animals? Oh, no. The Corporatists PROFIT off those 'gassy' animals, so no way humans should protect their personal health by eating less meat!)
Can the profiteers get any more sick and insane and horrible than this?!
Evidently there is no way to profiteer off wild animals any other way, so the predatory Ruling Profiteering Class is going in for the kill on the phony pretext that carbon trading/credits etcetera will help this Earth.
If you hate carbon emissions, the Australian Outback may seem like a paradise, unless you're a bit gassy, that is. According to a new study, the vast, sparsely populated Outback stores an incredible amount of carbon within its forests and grasslands, a whopping 9.7 billion tons of the stuff, in fact. As impressive as that is, researchers say the region could hold much, much more if certain measures were to be implemented, but there's a catch -- one calls for the culling of millions of feral animals just because they fart and burp.
The study, undertaken by the Nature Conservancy and the Pew Environment Group, found that while nearly 10 billion tons of carbon are stored in the Outback ecosystem, it can actually hold around 1.3 billion more by 2050. To put that into perspective, the potential carbon storage is roughly the equivalent to taking 300 million cars off the road during that same period, reports News.com.au.
In order to tap into that storage capacity, the study suggests improving land management, reducing wildfires, regrowing cleared vegetation -- and killing off millions gassy animals, like feral pigs and camels.
Turns out, farting and burping critters are quite a problem. Barry Traill, a spokesman for Pews, explains:
When feral animals belch they release methane, a particularly noxious greenhouse gas, and every single camel or water buffalo releases the equivalent of around one ton of carbon dioxide each year. When you've got hundreds of thousands, in some cases millions, of these feral animals, it's a very large amount of pollution each year.
While the report's findings seem to present a bit of a Catch-22 for environmentalists -- curb emissions at the cost of countless animal's lives -- Australia's Greens party seems up for the big kill. Senator Christine Milne sites an urgency "to make the changes needed to tap the huge potential that is there [in the Outback]."
Judging from policies in the past, Australians aren't too queasy when it comes to culling wildlife, namely when it comes to the continent's invasive species. Just last February, for example, it was announced that officials would begin dealing with a pesky camel overpopulation problem by feeding the feral animals to hungry crocodiles.
If Australia opts to consider the techniques suggested by this recent study to expand the Outback's carbon storage capacity, it will be interesting to see whether folks side with less emissions or if they'll decide that millions of farting and burping animals really aren't that bad. If the latter wins out, I imagine an entire generation of unruly children will take notice.
Wenker just appeared to have confirmed that the Calico "round-up" was on land that is in the path of the proposed pipeline. What he did not tell you is about the condition of the captured horses, those that survive the brutal round-ups, in the crammed, shadeless, often waterless holding areas. He did not tell you that humane associations are not allowed access to these horses. He did not tell you that there is ample proof, provided by filmmaker Ginger Kathrens of the Cloud Foundation, that the horses are not overpopulated and are NOT in poor condition, and will not be if given the land that was intended for wildlife, not cattle. The White House needs to hear from us about this.

I donated my old horse Stymie for autistic child riding program
@Thom: #22 TJONKPTK started a massively funny context shift. I vote for TJONKPTK as Listener of The Day.
@rladlof, I'm not saying that, the poll is. My concern was just the way the information was presented, it was just oblivious to the slanted question.
