"Has anyone noticed the similar facial features between Timothy Mcveigh and Okeffe?"

Even weirder, has anyone noticed the similar facial features between you, me, Gerald and most of the other people in this chat-room?

OMG Obama in Baltimore taking GOP questions:

    AFTER Thom's show --- you'll love this.

Personally, I think there should be MORE of this. "Question Period" in Canada makes everybody better informed.

FYI "The Cage Match" in Baltimore: It is reported that the White house called the GOP leadership to request cameras during the hour and a half of question and answer session. Repubs are now lamenting that decision because the President ate their lunch and left them the tab.

I was impressed with his on stage performance, and I believe that he has done a lot of good for this country, but when staing this I was assailed by all of the hard core teabaggers and Republicrat wannabes...the resounding response from all of them is, "Name One Thing Good That He Has Done For This Country!"
Now, I can think of a few things that he has done...and I mentioned them. As response to their challenge fell on deaf ears, I ask myself...why don't the State of the Union do what it is supposed to do?
The President should give a complete list of everything that he and his administration have done to benefit this country. I need to get this list so I can stick it down the throats of the people who imply that Obama has done NOTHING for this country.

@ rewinn, Agreed. Obama was impressive. The cons were predictable. With any luck Quark will have a link up soon. No one does MSNBC like our dear Quark.

Whoa, whoa Thom, if the Republicans haven't held a super majority since 1911, then that paints a whole other picture, because, Theodore Roosevelt, peeled off most of the Progressives in the 1912 campaign into the Bull Moose Party. Thus forever reshaping the Republican Party as the Conservative Party since they were in essence left with our equivalent of Blue Dog Democrats as their party.

Says a lot about the American people, because, arguably we may never have allowed the conservatives (no matter what party they controlled) a super majority.

So, Mr. Ashburn claims to have the gift of fore-sight? a seer? He knows what the Church Lady is going to say before it leaves her full firm lips, does he? Isn't that speeeshal. The Church Lady does not believe bananas fly either Mr. Smarty Pants!

@DDay - Obama taking questions from the opposition?

Risky but smart. We really need to make that a regular practice. "Question Period" in Canada makes their government much much better.

Imagine either Bush, McCain even Romney trying that LOL (...I'll grant you Reagan could've done it...)

Anyway, it's GOOD for our government to face tough questions, and I have every confidence good government-types can handle it better than the whores

FYI. I have been watching President Obama answer questions from the Republican House caucus live in Baltimore on MSNBC. It was fascinating. You will be seeing excerpts all over soon. He mixed it up and called out some of these creeps for reciting false talking points masquerading as honest questions. pretty cool.

@ Zero G. Pffffffssst. Ahhhh.... No problem dude...I'm just commenting on the age gap and how the more things change....the more they seem the same. different strokes and all that. Terms change but people's behaviors are fairly static. It all works.

The Republicans claim that it was World War II is what got us out of the Great Depression, not FDR's programs. So if that's the case (if you want to make that argument), the must mean that they believe it was the massive amount of manufacturing done during the war that brought about prosperity. Therefore, they must acknowledge that they ultimately believe that American manufacturing jobs will end economic downturns.

But they don't make that link, they rather keep sailing down the river of denial.

"Those who forget the past will, ah... mmmm... hummm will never do that stuff again." (That's how Bush would deliver the line.)

"We must not worry about the past, but look forward." (That's how Obama delivers the line.)

Sure the second phrase sounds smarter, but really its the same lie... however, I might give Bush the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't really know better (he should, but I wonder at times if the guy could tie his shoe laces, or even fasten his Velcro straps for that matter).

Plain and simple, I can't give Obama a pass on it though.

The Supreme Court ruling that grants money legal personage has me wondering. If money is a person what gender is it? Male or Female?  What is it's nationality?  White, Black, Rainbow?  It might qualify as a minority and entitled to federal programs and grants.  Can money marry? This is a little different than marrying for money. If money can marry can it marry the same denomination? Or does it have to be opposite? And what is opposite of say $5?

    Nels,

Fine, I can understand that, but there are plenty of songs about alcohol, and the segment is: "because I got high."

How about: "I wrote your favorite song, when I got high?" Or, "I developed your favorite software, when I got high"?
