Thanks, Pal- I was trying to show the connection, without seeming too intellectually elite or too educated, or even too old, between those who were thwarted in their plan to sterilize and purify society and the onslaught of their fascist regime upon the psyches of our genetic predecessors. They were the banking propellers of Hitler's whole career and all directed the titan Austrian Credit Bank when other Austrian Banks failed, quickly allowing the change in power. Hitler's Eugenics came from those parties who financed him- it's what they believed back when Hitler was still a baby.
We in our generation have these traumas already working on us according to the theory of epigenetics. WE were dragged into these traumas unwillingly by perps. Some of us heard about War II and The Depression from parents or family members, but not very much. When I get to know someone, I always ask then what they heard from their parents about the past and it is astounding how much people have held back because they want to forget it. Many parents who were Holocaust survivors did not talk about it to their children. But the genetic memory is passed on. This is WHY we are wandering about at least half-bummed out- the more depressed we are the less energy we have to fight. And we have less money trying to keep up with the diseases which may be turned on by epigenetics.
We have to Heal Ourselves before we can change the world.

Michael Brown truly was a big young man, an immature young man that was unarmed. What ever happen to less than deadly force procedures! I’m sure that this officer had a nightstick or even Mace, deadly force did not have to be used. Backup could have been there within a few minutes. We must take a hard look on the training procedures of our law enforcement. Things are definitely getting out of control. State and local governments should start policing the police force, by means of a two or a four-year college/university degree on law and law enforcement before entering a police academy. With a psychological profile evaluation that will prevent psychopaths from becoming law enforcement members.

I am listening to the rebroadcaste of your show right now and I am being reminded of the stories my mother told me about working with urban children in St. Louis through the work the churches were doing, such as caravaning to suburban churches during the late 40s.
The housing these families were subjected to was so bad that she joined a work group that went in to help patch holes in the walls of the homes people were renting. Its no wonder they were thrilled with the possibility of living in public housing, even though it soon became a night mare for similar reasons of mismanagemnt. One reason my mother remembers this so well is that one result of her experience was coming down with hepatatitus after one of her visits.
These college age young people began helping the families in trapped in this housing organize to make the landloards repair the property. They soon descovered that no one was responsible becuase it was all owned by blind trust. When they finally got to the bottom of the blind trust issue they discovered that many of these rentals were owned by the local Cahtolic church. Because over the years their parisoners had left thier property to these large churches which didn't know how to manage things. A bit of a local scandal.
A number of the young people she met at that time and still keeps in touch with went on after that experience to join the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and march with MLK. I can't help but wonder what they are thinking now, understanding the history this region has with both racism and poverty.
It is difficult for most listeners to understand that this barn full of straw has a long history which goes back many generations. Every once in awhile someone acidentally drops some cinders on a pile of straw. I am impressed that young people are coming from as far away as California to join this community. That means we have straw tucked away in corners all over the country.
What a world of hurt this counry would be in right now if we did not have someone of the charactuer of President Obama in the white house. I can only pray that the Dept. of Justice gets this right. That does not mean that there is not plenty more to do and rethink about the system.
I think white people naively assume that they are safe around law enforcement. As a woman I think every encounter I have had with law enforcement is fraut with potential dangers. I have had some close calls when in the wrong place at the wrong time while the police were under similar time packed pressure and stress to make the right decision. Just becase I am white, I have no misunderstandings about this. It makes me anxious for the young people I work with.

Tarheels, you overlook the fact that this kid in Ferguson was confronted by the police officer for jaywalking. The policeman knew nothing about any alleged cigar heist.

One fundamental fraud that the righties perpetrate is the assertion that the democratic government of the United States is tyranny when it's government and its protections of the weak from the strong prevent any partiality from dominating the society. It is not government they oppose but democracy. They object to and seek to remove the democratic protections and safeguards that prevent them from dominating the society unimpeded and effecting their own tyranny that is privatized, small government.
Another, that dovetails with the first, is that "government social programs take away people's freedom" when the opposite is true. Government programs to help people, e.g., that make healthcare, housing, education, food, etc. more affordable - if not entirely cost free - give people, quite obviously, more freedom. They abate the privilege of the wealthy and help prevent the wealthy from dominating tyrannically by "redistributing freedom" more equally to all, which is what righties really object to about democratic government.
Righties don't want democratic government because they, as the strong, don't want to be prevented from abusing, exploiting and dominating the common people, the weak, at will. Like they told you in school, democratic government makes us all free.

This blog has never bored me, nor am I put off by occasional spurts of profanity, given the spirit from which it comes. Sorry Leighmf. I plead guilty to some of that profanity, but with no apologies. We live in profane times.
I have little patience for language prudes. Anyone who dares to chastise me for my language is in for an earful. Like it or not, cussing has its place in the repertoire of human expression. I will not tolerate these obnoxious, sanctimonious control freaks dictating to the rest of us what is and is not acceptable, and frankly, I don't give a rat's ass if children are present. If they don't like it they can leave. Frankly, it irritates me that language used on the air is so heavily restricted, just to accomodate these prudes. It's just a power trip, is all.
Because the Koch brothers are the disgusting parasites that they are, I am not put off by someone calling them the "Cock brothers". And I agree with John Best about libertarians; they are clueless assholes.

You know, I think this exodus of the "880 liberals", or what, from our blog represents the "wine and cheese", bourgie elite lefties turning their collective nose up at us working class, hard-scrabble, coarse, common, vulgar, street fighting lefties with all our profanity.
They, blind to their own Ivy League class privilege, think they're going to do everything politely. Their main priority is to not upset the cocktail party.
I think we're better off without them and their social and intellectual elitism. They are a great impediment to movement building and cause us to lose the blue collar worker with their missionary attitude to "civilize the savages" of the lower classes and to tell the workers what they are to do and want.
Leighmf, I question the validity of your assertion. Some "intolerance" - for lack of better word - on an opinionated blog is to be expected and, I think, unavoidable and lefties, so subject to great intolerance everywhere else, can be forgiven for being a little protective and posessive of their little space.
That said, intolerance is not good, contrary to our ostensible values and doesn't serve us well, however, I think the hostility toward conservative posters comes when the lefty home team thinks they are not being honest. Some are obvious, even admitted, shills, others, when they clearly depart from honesty, are highly suspicious. Nevertheless, it may be necessary to be patient with those as well but it gets more than tiresome with some who keep coming at you with the same talking points or blatant lies repeated ad nauseum no matter how much you take pains to inform them or show the fallacies in their talking points.
There is, after all, nothing wrong with a haven for lefties where they can unload and vent. Lord knows, there are more than enough such spaces for righties and prudery about profanity isn't tolerance either.

I also question your assertion that Thom doesn't write this blog (anyway, if that is true that's a relatively recent development), he sure does read it. He often says so and often repeats language from posted comments almost verbatim on the air.
Anyone who wants to comment on an openly self declared opinionated blog contradicting the the openly self declared opinion should expect to be entering a hornets' nest. It's not for the milque toasty. Not, mind you, that they should encounter "intolerance", as it were, but they should know they're likely going to have to fight for their position and withstand some severe challenge to it.

If you read closely, you'll see I was speaking of the Blog, not the Bloggers when I said it was boring. Everyday my e-mail is flooded with these same headliners from politicians wanting money and various groups wanting a petition signed. Even if it has to be the same old news, I just long for a different recipe. The title " Stop Complaining About Big Government and Embrace It" just threw me over the edge. I don't complain about big government, and I don't like being ordered around in a headline.
I'm afraid I was absent for the Sven and Chi Matt era. I got to a point I couldn't stand anymore name-calling and foul language. Plus in the Community Blog some vicious things were done.
Avoid Stress is the #1 Strategy to stay healthy. Health comes first in my book. And I do get upset to hear people arguing, swearing, calling names in real life, being nasty. It makes me feel ill. I have found in this age of self-publishing that I am just as disturbed by seeing these things on paper.
Facebook works better for filtering and creating a solid discussion group and communicating with graphics, I think.

Phillips and Mătăsăreanu were confronted by LAPD officers when they exited the bank and a shootout between the officers and robbers ensued. The shootout continued onto a residential street adjacent to the bank until Phillips was mortally wounded, including by a self-inflicted gunshot wound; Mătăsăreanu was killed by officers three blocks away. Phillips and Mătăsăreanu are believed to have robbed at least two other banks using virtually identical methods by taking control of the entire bank and firing automatic weapons chambered in intermediate cartridges for control and entry past 'bullet-proof' security doors, and are possible suspects in two armored vehicle robberies.
Local patrol officers at the time were typically armed with their standard issue 9 mm or .38 Special pistols, with some having a 12-gauge shotgun available in their cars. A NO option is needed. I have no problem with law emforcment or how the law is applied. Michael Brown is 6'5" weighs about 300 he used his large size to push a 4'5" Indian guy that weighed maybe 125 pounds. Mr. Brown had a guilty conscience. Yes the police officer didn't know but Michael didn't know that. All he had to do was comply with getting out of the road. He chose to fight instead until he was shot.
The police don't frighten me and I'm African American. Since I obey the law, I don't sell or use drugs, drive drunk, steal, kill or rob people I have nothing to fear from the all white police force in my town.

That must be nice as a disabled veteran since it was a service related disability (I lost my right leg and right eye due to an IED). Thanks to Mitch "Moneybags " McConnell disabled vets can't draw veterans benfits checks at the same time if they are drawing SSI. I currently get $721 a month I had to sell my 1977 GMC truck since I could no longer drive a stick or afford the insurance. My point is that $721 is $8,652 yearly. The moral of the story is I'm poor and way below the poverty line. I'm not out stealing $50 box of cigars and getting upset because when the police find out they arrest the bad guys.

Terry v Ohio (1968) -This case allows an officer to conduct a stop of a person or vehicle if there is reasonable suspicion that a crime is being committed, has been, or is about to be committed.
Pennsylvania v Mimms (1977)- this US Supreme Court ruling allows officers to order the driver and occupant out of the vehicle for safety reasons. " the safety of the officer greatly outweighs the inconvenience to the occupants of the vehicle."
Before I lost my leg I was a deputy sheriff and I worked in the military police. Something I cannot do with one leg and a glass eye.

leighmf -- Thanks for coming back and stating some of the problems with the blog. It seems to me the biggest problem you described is the personal attacks on the blog. I hope the bloggers here listen.
I do not know how you can call the discussions with Sven on the 2013 IPCC boring. I do not see how you can call the discussions with Chicago Matt boring. Of course, Chi Matt almost left because of personal attacks.
Also, it is hard not to be boring when Thom has presented what I think is a straightforward solution to all the problems. It becomes boring when you say over and over again to roll back Reaganomics. I think it needs to be said over and over again.

Otherwise I think you can find connections between everything, but not every connection really matters. Your points are also interesting but I doubt if Bush, Rockefeller and the rest are really that smart. Likely epigenetics was a known a concept to the Eugenics Society which in 1910 decided to sterilize the poor, epileptics, and those called "mental defectives." The society was heavily supported by Mrs. E.R. Harriman, a Bush ancestor.
It stands to reason that after failing to garner enthusiasm for mass-sterilizations across America, we may as well be subjected to the major stresses of WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, the atom bomb in general, The Korean War, segregation, assassination, the Viet Nam War, and increasing loss of nationally held wealth, such as our education system, national parks, health standards, and the figures said to be our national debt.
These major stresses were perpetrated to depress us and keep us down, like armed Pinkertons holding back a strike line. They facilitated the addictions which made fortunes for men of violence, of the brewers, bottlers, tobacco kings, and opium lords, because we just can't take it. What family has not been damaged through its generations of having to bear addiction, illness, violence, poverty, and destruction none of us want.
"The Old Families" know this well and that is how they maintain control of world wealth. They know the families that stick together rule together. Since they have intermarried to keep money, they are prone to insanity. By breaking up pioneer American families and the businesses and industries they built, and by exploiting native peoples of America and Hawaii, they have again overrun us and tyranny rules.
Nazi science was carefully preserved and brought to America for the Prescott Bush CIA to utilize. This is the place in American history I have found where the idealism of America was completely derailed. It happened in the transition from the OSS to the post-war Central Intelligence Agency of which George H.W. Bush became director in 1976. 1976 was a critical year for those who during the Great Depression were induced to purchase low-yield tax-free government securities. Many of the original investors were deceased by 1976, but the Treasury Notes of 1976 existed for paying estate tax in portfolios nationwide. They were culled out of trusts by lawyers and given to GHW Bush for secret money to move around the country.
I think we've all seen or thought one hand doesn't know what the other is doing in our security agencies, especially now that we have even another secret division of intelligence, Homeland Security. We cannot stop the stress until the original trouble makers are rooted out for their past crimes and history is told aright. The damage they have done has to be defined and rectified, as if our whole nation was a Superfund Site.

But I do make long term observations and tabulate data in order to present reasonable conclusions.
FYI- Thom Hartmann does not write this blog, Randy Campbell, nr, whatever. You may not realize how many people have been here for years and years and have left and formed a spin-off group of more than 880 liberals and democrats who share the same basic values, who listen to the show, but who cannot stand the PROFANITY (see post #1 above mine), INTOLERANCE, and boredom into which the blog has descended.
Any observer can see how the posts have dwindled to just a few hopeful hangers-on and newcomers, while this blogspot should be the interactive heart of the community.
I have discussed this phenomenon with various persons who were once valuable commenters and contributors to the overall discussion, thus those who get along have moved on.
In the alternate TH Reality, none of us would dare to try and intimidate a poster who has expressed an honest opinion or criticism.
The privilege of having the job writing this blog post I feel demands more research and originality to engage a constructive discussion community. That is my American right to express and a good writer always respects and listens to criticism and suggestion.
The 880 are proof that many a good intellect stay away to avoid hostility and attempted censorship by other members of the TH Community.
I have never listened to Rush Limbaugh in my life, and in fact can't listen to radio at all. I come here because I love and adore Thom and Louise's work as part of a hopeful future.

Truth, Justice, The American Way:
Truth: We Americans have gone on for years and years tolerating unanswered questions about bombings, assassinations, mass terrorism, bombings, and even accepting lies.
My idea is the Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth- this we should demand from the Treasury, Congress, and our intelligence agencies. Instead, we are given cover stories to hold us till the next violent act against our People.
Justice: Do Justice in the courts and the heavens will open and rain blessings on the earth. This includes fair measures of law enforcement, punishment that fits the crime (i.e. drug possession vs. massive bank or investment fraud), and an end to the Lawyers and Judges Cartel which diverts ill-gotten wealth to Royalists.
The American Way: I think today's Lincoln poster, Hopalong Cassidy, and the Lone Ranger have defined it. The American Way allows all to prosper without interference from corrupt officials, monopolies, hidden trusts, lawyers, syndicates, 400 year old mortgage bonds, and private insurance companies.
