I would like to be the new host. I would like to find out who is behind the Kentucky Opportunity Coalition. They are influencing a US Senate election in Kentucky. All I know is they whoever they are like Mitch McConnell. I was under the impression that any 527 groups could not run ads calling for a defeat of a candidate. But I guess this reason 9,228 why Scalia, Thomas and Alito should be impeached and Citizens United overturned.

I don't believe NBC is all that interested in improving the quality of Meet The Press. Comcast, its parent company, doesn't exactly have a good reputation for listening to its consumers.
The Michael Brown killing was clearly a case of mistaken identity, but I haven't been able to determine whether the "accidental" multiple gunshots into a surrendering target was supposed to be the Michael Brown from The Line of Fire radio show, Michael Brown (name of show would tend to indicate it) or the FEMA fraudster (taking money for doing something and then not doing is still fraud whether they file charges against you or not), Michael Brown, (this being the anniversary month for Katrina).
Either way clearly a case of incompetence by the Ferguson PD.
Thank goodness Gregory is out the door. Meet the Press used to be part of my Sunday morning news ritual. I stopped watching when Gregory took over--his constant guests were John McCain and Lindsey Graham--should have been called Meet the Republicans. What about Tim Russert's son taking over--he's in the business--or one of the very competent newswomen out there?
PS I like the new feature that lets me sign in on the page I want to comment on without rerouting me somewhere else first and then it takes ages to get back.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch had information about the racial disparity in stops/arrests by the Ferguson Police. Note that not only is the stop rate higher for blacks, but also the arrest rate. This is interesting in light of the fact that the rate of finding contraband is higher for whites.

Meet the Press is but another political soap to sell soap and laxatives. Chuck Todd has never struck me as having a commanding presence outside of a TelePrompTer. How Mike Papantonio? Unless NBC News as a whole decides to take on the cause of the issues, Meet the Press will be another 60 minutes of bullet points and sound bytes.
Lets recruit William McAvoy from the HBO Newsnight and sort through the hype and smoke screens.... Now we are talking ....

Grandma Jackie: I try to watch every Bill Maher show I can. And on the last one, before the August break, Bill Maher did joke around about possibly losing his show should HBO get bought out by Rupert Murdock. I sure hope that doesn't happen! Something like that happened before when Bill Maher wasn't patriotic enough to believe the lies of the Bush administration right after 9/11. He was canned from his Politically Incorrect show. I suspect that if he gets canned from HBO, that he will just move on to the internet like others have done. At least I hope so.
AIW: If I threw my boob tube out of the window, I wouldn't be able to watch Russia Today, Free Speech TV, Link TV, or a few other programs I like to watch. I could watch them on my PC boob tube, I suppose. Since I never watch Fox or any of the right wing boobs, I think I'm safe enough.

Perhaps MTP has been giving so much background information because they are desperately endeavoring to reach the FOX News crowd, some of whom might possibly tune-in to this... when they won't watch anything else where they can get some real political education. It's sad that so many people want to only listen to the choir singing their beloved lies.
Trying to find Hardtalk on BBC. Apparently Direct TV doesn't have it. Also, Bill Mahler said there is a chance that Rupert Murdock will buy HBO and he will be out of a job. I like to watch Free Speech, I donate to Free Speech, but I am not happy with the change in your hours, Thom. I haven't been able to fit the new time into my schedule very often. Would love to see Martin Bashir! Since David Gregory took over I have not been able to make it through a complete program. He never challenges the Republicans! He never demands facts and backing up the outrageous statements they make. It has become too much like Fox News sitting around on a couch talking.
AIW: The trick is once you put your cursor over the blue time...then don't move your cursor..leave it on the blue time. Then glance down toward the bottom of your page, on the left side, you should see the URL for the message you have your cursor on. It should look like this (only grey):

It will probably be cut off so that you cannot see the whole URL..so the 6 digit number representing the message number may be missing. But, If you are using Internet Explorer, just right click on the blue time and then left click on "Copy Shortcut" then you can paste it in notepad, if you are using Windows. You should see the entire URL including the # sign followed by a 6 digit message number at the very end. I tried this on Internet explorer but it seems that even with the page maximized it only shows the # followed by only 3 numbers...missing the last three.
If you are using a Firefox browser, I believe the last I checked it displays the whole URL including all 6 numbers. Also, You won't have the same terminology when you right click on the blue line...it says "Copy link location".
I think that eventually, the webmaster will get the number on the messages sorted out. These things can take time. Hopefully, not too much more time.
Palindromedary ~ I checked out that comment page and it does look like Nigel has his hands full. Also, he probably has gone home for the night already. Chances are he'll check our messages first thing in the morning. That is why it is a good time for Aliceinwonderland to post her complaints right where they will be seen first thing in the morning.

Aliceinwonderland ~ Apropos to the second to the last post above. Apparently Thoms photos are being rotated. Higgins is no longer there. However, if you hover over any photo that little URL box should appear in the bottom left corner of your screen.

The webmaster's name is Nigel and you can complain here as well as read all the other complains. As you can read, Nigels been quite busy of late. Happy complaining. You can also read my post and Palindromedarys many posts.
Aliceinwonderland ~ That's very strange. Are you sure that you are hovering over the time stamp next to the user name at the top of the post? You have to put your cursor directly over the time stamp. Don't click, just hover. A little black box should appear in the lower left side of your screen. In fact, that box appears whenever you hover over anything that causes your cursor to turn into a button pressing shape (cursor change for buttons/links in my operating system that changes from an arrow to a hand) That goes for any button/link on any site and not just this one.
At that moment, no matter what button you hover over, you should get a little black box at the left bottom corner of your browser screen stating the URL of that button. For example: Try hovering over the picture of Thoms cat to the right. Hover anywhere over it. The box at the bottom left side of the browser window should say, "cdn3.thomhartmann.com/sites/default/files/IMG_0208_0.JPG"
If you don't get that box you might be using a strange browser; or, possibly, one that is out of date. I'm using Chrome v.36. As I understand it Palindromedary is using Mozilla's Firefox. I'm pretty sure that Internet Explorer does the same thing. Try it again with the cat photo entitled, "Higgins faces off Goosalini" and let me know if it works. If it doesn't find out what Browser and what version it is and post it so we can figure out what the problem is.
P.S. Marc, I clicked on "Community" at the top of my screen and frankly, I don't know what you're talking about. All I see is the same crappy new format. Still no numbered posts. - AIW
Frosty46, donderby, and 2950-10K ~ Well said and I agree with every word. I gave up major network news, CNN, and MSNBC for several years now. I get all my news from Free Speech TV. Public TV, RT Network, Yahoo News, The Huffington Post, and a wide variety of other internet sources. I remember the last time I watched NBC News at any length. I was sitting in the waiting room before my last Colonoscopy. I found myself longing for the procedure to begin. It seemed as though the Colonoscopy took less time than sitting in the waiting room watching NBC; and, was more tolerable, enjoyable, and informative.
Marc, I appreciate your efforts and I really hope Nigel gets it. Why they changed this format for the worse is beyond me. There's not a single thing about the new format that's the slightest improvement over the last one; meanwhile I've encountered multiple disadvantages to this unnecessary change.
I'll never understand why there's so much meddling and tampering like this online. What purpose does it serve? I just don't get it.
Looking at the bottom left of this screen I see NO black box; only a blue box that says "Sign up now". And a much smaller blue box next to where it says "Thom Hartmann Newsletter". There's also a blue box that looks sorta like a cartoon bubble with a tail attached to it and "TH" next to Thom's name. That's it! No more boxes. Not on this computer anyway. Not on the bottom left, not on the top left, not the middle left either. No black box! Maybe they're not all the same. It's not just Meet the Right Wing Press, it's also all Corspe Media that has sold out on Representative Democracy for the ,"God Almighty Dollar." These bastards have totally destroyed Liberty as our founders intended it. I hold the media more responsible than the god damn Kochs. The media moguls aren't fnnn insane like the Kochs , they're just greedy, and that greed has cost us our freedom and will soon cost us our country as well. Any country that consistently legislates in favor of a a third world middle class is on the way out......it's gonna get real ugly soon. Chuck Todd is just another right winger, being reinforced by NBC . I don't watch any of their newstainment any longer, I feel sorry that Rachel Maddow Ed Schultz Chris Hayes Melissa Harris Perry have to march to Fox Noise tunes playing subliminally through their earpieces piped in directly from management at MSNBC , its disgusting to see the slow agonizing take over of NBC by right wing Hippocrates, guess when you lose your soul you'll do anything for ratings and more money, now I understand the saying " ignorance is bliss" , so glad there are still people like Thom Hartmann, keep up the good work.
