50 years ago the United States had basically a closed economy. Unions could hold companies hostage and get what ever they wanted. We live in different times now. You can email a CAD drawing and have a product delivered in days. The internet has changed the world. Suppliers are easy to find. Most of the developed world can speak English or we have Apps or programs to translate. Lets face it the new world economy is dragging the west down. The party is over adapt or get in the welfare line.
OR get rid of all free trade agreements and put taxes and tariffs on everthing coming in. Of course that would stop all exports from the United States as everyone would do the same to you.
Unions had their day but they became as greedy as the rich 1% and all the jobs left.

DAM -- You are giving these crack whores the status of high price call girls. I do not think the Ukranian problem happened because of the $1 trillion of natural gas. Your position on this, DANNEMARC, certainly comes off aggressive, and not just in favore of taking matters into ones own hands, but implying that using violant excessive force as the first measure of action is acceptable even when not necessary.
What that father did was based on pure emotional rage, resulting in hostility and unnecessary violent aggression.
Why is that you feel the fathers violant actions are justifiable? I mean the kid looks pretty scrawny and I am sure this father, a full grown man, could have stopped this kid without go so far as to "beat" him into a bloody pulp. Had it been a cop, or another G. Zimmermann that beat the kid...You would be floored and wanting to prosecute!
However since its a "sex offense"...Well that's completely different...Right!?!?

Fabian: I can see how this might seem contradictory but unless you know the background of why a person might feel compelled to yell at a smoker like that we can't fully understand the whole picture. I know, as a non-smoker, that I had for many years been subjected to the second-hand smoke of smokers in public places. Many times I went to a restaurant and asked for the non-smoking section just to be seated right near the smoking section where right next to me were smokers puffing away and smoke drifting over my way. I always had to ask to be seated somewhere else but it wasn't always convenient to do so because the waiter had already brought the food.
Smokers have really pissed me off for many years! And I am also afraid that if they legalize pot that the smell, which to me is very nauseating sickening odor, will be just about as bad as all of that cigarette smoke I had to deal with before. How would smokers, of tobacco or pot, like it if I farted in their faces? Or, if they live next door to a pot smoker...how would they like living near an open sewer? They wouldn't!!
DAnneMarc: I agree...you are most likely correct..it's all about power and money and control. And the rich and powerful will do anything, including murder innocent people, to attain even more riches and power.

Not that I can support this, however, my gut tells me this whole thing was set up by the corporatists in this country--and abroad--who stand so much to gain by controlling the Ukraine natural gas reserves; both, out right in profits, and by denying Russia the opportunity to underprice their gas on the international market. It is really just too much to fathom...to think about all those people and something like 80 children as well...dying in that crash even if we didn't know them. But after watching and hearing that little girl sing like that it would have been so much harder to take if she had been on that plane. I have flown in and out of Schiphol airport myself. Although I can't remember much about it now. And my company, I believe had customers in Nijmegen which is where that little girl was born. I never had the chance to go there myself. I spent some time in Amsterdam and went to The Hague by train once.

chuckle8 ~ I'm sorry! I'm not sure what you are talking about. I don't remember casting doubt that the two lost Malaysian airliners had anything to do with each other. In fact, I strongly suspect that there is some sort of a link. Certainly, there is something rotten in the Ukraine. That is something I think we can all agree on. Also, I think we can all agree upon this little fact--the Ukraine sits on 1/4 of the worlds known natural gas reserves. About $1 Trillion worth I understand. Now lets just look at that from an economical perspective of the US and Russia; as well as, the perspective of the markets to which these two giants would sell too. Then, and only then, let us have a calm conversation of what happened in those two fateful airliner flights.
