  • Will the GOP filibuster Obama's DC Circuit nominations?   12 years 4 hours ago

Easy one, they've already said they would. No way do they want a Democratic majority on the DC Court.

  • Will the GOP Call Harry Reid's Bluff?   12 years 4 hours ago

Will the corp. media articulate a single grunt regarding blockage of these District Court nominations, which by the way is simply more republican targeting of Obama? I think not.....they're too busy with their fake story about the IRS targeting Teabaggers, otherwise known by us folks in the real world as the political groups who willfully committed tax fraud.

These teabag groups cry and kick about being targeted while in reality their targeting of Obama and our democracy hasn't had any impact on the public servants in their crosshairs, they all have socialist benefits and are taken care of for life. This targeting has done a couple things though, it has temporarily destroyed the working class and delayed the inevitable transition we the people will make to a form of liberty already in place in Europe, Canada, and much of the rest of the world.

I've got news for the Teabaggers, the IRS ain't the problem. Those who manipulate your little minds have untaxed trillions stashed in offshore bank accounts. That is a real problem and really does need to be targeted!

  • Should political groups get tax-exempt status?   12 years 4 hours ago

The ruling should be changed back to Primarily - the way it was written and approved. No one should get tax exempt unless it is for

the original reason - to help people - period. Any pollitics involved it should absolutely be denied.

  • Will the GOP Call Harry Reid's Bluff?   12 years 6 hours ago

Harry Reid needs to get a backbone on this and stand up to these cretins. If he doesn't, they will achieve their goal of destroying President Obama and the rest of us with him.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 7 hours ago

You don't know Christie. He's as far from moderate as he can be, and he's a total political animal. No to women, no to minimum wage increase, no tto jobs, fired teachers, firemen, lost education money so our r.e. taxes have skyrocketed, is turning down expanded Medicaid. This guy is not meoderate, he wants to privatize EVERYTHING and makes no bones about it. He's pro-birth, but calls it pro-life. He's a bully. He is an entertaining character, and occasionally has a moral and reasonable moment. That is, after he uses the gobinatorial plane to see his kid play soccer. No, this guy is definitely not cool. That said, he will probably win this next governor's race because there are Dems who think like what you said.

Yes nora ! A game, an experiment. Well documented on utube as it is not posssible to have the evidence of Global Geoengieering reasonably reviewed by any news media yet. It's been tagged as a conspiracy theory. Those few that do, give misinformation and lie about what is happening to our sky. There is more than twenty percent sunshine depletion, and the application of heavy metals such as nano particulates of aluminum, barium and strontium used to control the weather make us sick, (alzheimers, cancers and athsma) that makes rich returns for the phamacutical corporations. Huge areas unsafe for people to live in? That will be good for the land grabbers. I can see with my own eyes a beautiful clear blue day turned into a white out of haze in a few hours as the trails from the aircraft drift to cover the sky. Our rain water samples from independent labs confirm that this is happening here in New Zealand.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 12 hours ago

In regard to the many above posts.......Holy crap! Just as Obama's record shows he is a right of center politician in liberal clothing, Christie's record shows he is far right of center in moderate clothing. For starters he's anti labor, and anti public education, due to his right wing hatred for unions. Don't let the corp. media pull the moderate image bull, get the facts.

    The Twain Report 6-05-2013

All The News That Mark Twain Says He Would Report If He Was Alive Today In a surprisingly humble move, the republican party held a press conference early this morning, to admit that for thirty years they have had only one goal: the destruction of America. Republican spokesman Pat Robertson said, "While I was praying and grinning late last night, God gave me a Divine Revelation. And as a result of that Divine Revelation, I have completely revamped all of my thinking on politics. God showed me how the republican party's mental capacity has been so severely compromised that even if you hooked all of our brains in parallel, our score on the SAT still wouldn't get us into the Lowered-Expectations Vocational School whose ads you see on late night tv. God showed me how we republicans have destroyed everything we have touched. And God wants all that to stop." In the shocked silence that followed this amazingly honest revelation, Robertson stood at the podium silently weeping. Then, pointing his finger heavenward, he said, "And God revealed the three reasons why He has caused the republican party to be so destructive. First off, of course it's the gay peoples' fault- everyone knows that. And secondly, God wants us to shrink government until it can be drowned in a bathtub. And finally, God wants corporations to rule the world." Glen Beck then joined Robertson for a photo op, complete with great big tears. In a touching display of Mormon-to-Christian solidarity, Beck took Robertson's hand as he stole Robertson's watch, and in an equally touching display of Christian-to-Mormon solidarity, Robertson gave Beck's bottom an encouraging squeeze as he stole Beck's wallet.

  • Senator Sanders won't give up on GMO-labeling.   12 years 15 hours ago

    US Citizen:

Term: a fixed or limited period for which something is intend to last. I must suggest term limit is not an oxymoron. By definition it is a redundancy.
I did not mean to suggest one term to be set as the limit, but I do believe never ending membership in the business of 'representing' the voters is a not good idea.
I agree we should give those elected a chance to prove themselves. Re-elect them if fitting. Unfortunately we re-elect most every one. Regardless. Kinda likens sending a criminal to prison where they can hone their craft, to be trained by skilled inmates.
Want to take the possibility of electing corporate shills out to the picture? Take corporate money out of elections. On this we agree. 100%
How many Bernie Sanders are there in Vermont? Many. A lot of people with tons of common sense reside in this tiny state.
In an ideal world, we could remove the deadbeats, based on their performance, via the vote. However, we as a populous are lazy and uninformed. If we could remove the useless and self centered, the halls of Congress would be very empty. I am troubled by the lack of caring about where this country is headed. I do not have the answers.
But as with GMO labeling, I truly believe we have a right to know what we are eating and breathing, and we need the complete truth to make intelligent decisions. This did start as a discussion regarding GMO labeling, we are in total agreement. We would probably agree on so many other issues as well. Keep searching for answers as will I. Be well

PTGO said; "The result is this gutless idiot [Obama] that promised to much and is not capable of delivering anything."

As much as I agree with the "frustration" of that statement...I am more bent by all those who voted for Obama or Romney. Anyone today that "believes" the President runs the show is completely "out of their tree".

Sure Gov. Christie is a "stand up" guy, but he is still a politician, and "if" he ran for President in todays Corporate run Political Climate, he would have to do the Hookie Pookie and side step his own social conscience.

Now don't get me wrong, even though I am a bit synical I do understand our Democratic System...What we are suffering by is the deregulation of a Checks and Balance process resulting in Capitalism run amuck. Something that started 40+ years ago and became hyper-tense in the 80's and has gotten worse over the last 2 decades. We need to change this. One way (the best way) is to start at a Local & State level of government. Yes We need more Gov. like Christies, and more Senaters like Bernie Sanders! That is how We the People will regain a Government Of, For, and By the People. But you have to start local...That is were all these politicians start the careers.

    Enjoy this day!

  • The New Normal of Super Storms.   12 years 19 hours ago

EL RENO, Oklahoma tornado of May 31 now called largest so far -- 2.6 miles wide, 296 mph on ground, and lasted for 40 minutes. "A tornado that developed southeast of the El Reno tornado actually rotated clockwise – the opposite direction of most tornadoes.

“This is going to be studied for a long time,” Smith said of the El Reno tornado. “You’ll be hearing about this in conferences for many, many years." Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/06/04/4272934/el-reno-tornado-upgraded-to...

Remember how obvious the disgusting weapons guys can be? -- like when they tested their latest technology on the people of GAZA over winter break a few years ago? Weapons demonstrations before our very eyes.

I get the same weird feelings seeing this tornado stuff. Like someplace someone was saying : "Hey this weather system has potential. Heat it and and keep it down. Let's see if we can turbo it to stay on the ground longer. Let's exceed the Moore duration by 20 minutes. Go for it. Let's make the most of global warming, boys." Sorry, but its not hard to see this as a probability.

Thank you for your post. It lacks the naivte/obliviousness expressed by so many people who think those in charge would NEVER do such harm (despite sending troops home with Agent Orange and Depleted Uranium contamination, despite testing atomic bombs and covering the US population with radioactive fall out for a couple of decades, despite testing germ warfare in the US population, despite using its own soldiers as subjects in medical experiments, despite allowing corporations (via inadequate enforcement of regulations by the FDA, EPA etc.) to pollute the enviroment to a point of endangering the public health and allowing inadequately tested, harming drugs and products to be put on the market, despite watching the government's role in letting BP call the shots BEFORE and AFTER the The Gulf Deep Horizon Well spewage, despite the government allowing BP to dump an equal amount toxic waste labelled COREXIT on top of the oil spewage, despite watching the authorities send our soldiers to wars for oil without adequate body armour, without enough water, on endless tours of duty in violation of enlistment agreements....and so on.)

The real world is not like that other rosy dream world of flag, mom and apple pie sold in those old car commercials. How come advertisements, P.R. and propaganda are more powerful than facts?

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 20 hours ago

Lautenberg was typical of those that saw tyranny first hand. Our government is now run by a bunch of self serving punks.

Obama is typical. He needed to have his butt kicked more growing up. The result is this gutless idiot that promised too much and is not capable of delivering anything.

And dont blame it all on the scum bag republiCONs because they wouldnt be able to do it without scum bag punk democRATs.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

Some of these Republican governors are surprising me. By and large I still don't trust them, but there are schisms developing in the GOP and it's about time. And, Scott from Oz, Christie is NOT the only one. Jan Brewer of Arizona, who up to now certainly earned my distaste for her, is vetoing all legislation until the Republican-run Arizona legislature expands medicare in that state. I have seen comments from rank and file Republicans that cannot tolerate the batch in Congress anymore. Others may not be crazy about "liberals" in general or Obama in particular but they say enough is enough, something's got to give and they can see which side is the most unyielding. I even read an interview with a big investor in Hong Kong who warned that the wealth gap is destructive of stable markets and unsustainable besides (in America AND worldwide), and the wealthy will be getting so unpopular that they should expect a vengeful comeuppance sometime soon. (He didn't say how long qualified as "soon", unfortunately.) Let's get busy and make it as soon as possible!

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

Governor Christie is an example of how a republican can work for justice and honesty much the way Dwight Eisehower did. I admire the way he navigates regardless of which party he is a member of. I believe that is what we were all raised to believe. Kudos to Governor Christie.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

Funny...Republican Gov. Christie is more a Democrat then Obama...Interesting indeed!!!

    Off topic...
My sister and her girlfriend are coming from Australia to visit, they will be here in the States for 5 weeks and then off to Cuba for 3 weeks. They receive 8 weeks paid vacation every year (Holiday as they call it), 6 of the 8 weeks are mandatory paid holiday (All working class Australians receive 6 weeks paid vacation), the other 2 weeks is bonus for higher position and term. Imagine that...Getting paid to go on vacation for a minimum of 6 weeks...3x's what Americans get in the "good 'ol" United States of Corporations, where even if you work a full 40 hours a week you are more than likely to still not afford the basic cost of living, never mind going on "holiday"...And dare get sick!!!

It is well past time to change our way of thinking! Keep your eye on the ball and swing for the grand stands...If We ALL organize and work together We CAN take this country back from the Corporations that hijacked it and have been underminding our wellbeing all for the sake of a dollar in their pocket...Or a billion of them.

    Cheers!

  • Senator Sanders won't give up on GMO-labeling.   12 years 1 day ago

Yes CHUCKLES, Peroit did in fact receive a lot of votes...He also was aloted a spot in the debates...A vantage that was not offered to Jill Stein or Rocky Anderson, even though both were registered and on the ballet in 27 states. Jill Stein was actually arrested when she and her running mate attempted to enter the auditorium for the second round of debates for President.

You "may" be right about the # & % of votes comparabley, but it is certainly very very close.
However, besides trivial info...My point was that traditional Republicans and Democrats are getting fed up with their parties and those thart are being appointed to run certain government agencies.

I don't disagree with your fear of Romney...BUT as long as Wall St is running the show it does not matter who is President and what party they are from. So pull your head out of the Donkeys ass...The reality is that Voters need to stop blindly voting based on "Party" and start voting based on Standards & Principles; principles that are for the betterment of ALL of society. Standards that improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. Standards that protect our wellbeing and see to it that no American citizen is cast out as a burden for being ill, elderly, or poor.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

Wow, this is becoming a pattern with Christie. A Republican with a conscience who cares about ALL his constituents rather than just his 1%'ers. Who'd have thought there were any left in the Republican/Tea Party. As a Dem, I find this truly scary and perplexing. Just when I thought I had the Conservatives figured out, one of them throws a curveball. Still, it IS only one of them...so far.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

Is that ALL he's done? How did he do it? I just heard a list of all the wonderful things Frank Lautenberg did during his years as senator. Maybe you need to look farther afield than your own issue.

  • Chris Christie prioritizes 2013 over 2016   12 years 1 day ago

All "Republicans" are clearly in the wrong party. I sometimes wonder what the "right" "party" might be ... "Democratic"?? generally my first choice...since my man Ralph seems to have left the arena..."Green"?....is that where Jill Stein's from?... "Libertarian"?...(enjoyed one-time Libertarian Convention upstart Wayne Root getting lambasted (unbeknownst to him) by Colbert?/Stewart?)....Whig??? ....Guns 'n Dope Party???....a revitalized/refocussed "Democratic" Party" ...or some Brand New Party...about to be formed by ... the magic of the interwebs and true populist democracy... with a little help from Tom, Amy, Ed, Bernie, Sherrod, Alan, Stephanie, Ralph, Randi, Norman, Alan, Bobby, Mike, Barack(?), Jeff, Eni, Nancy, Harry(?), Dick(?), Barbara, Henry, Maxine, Debbie, Tulsi, Jan, Chris (not Anne Coulter's 2012 pick Chris), and all the other real "Democrats"/"Greens"/"Libertarians"/...(or what have you)....2014's right around the corner...we'd better get together before we're gerrymandered/disenfranchised/diebolded out of any voice we still have.

What Mr Christie has done is make it hard for people to get to the polls. We in NJ typically work far from Home ( read: Nyc). In a blue state, that works for him. Really, 2days late to work in barely a month?
