Why increase revenue when we have no control over how the new income will be spent. Perhaps we could double or quadruple the F-35 fighter jet order, or perhaps purchase a few new carriers and submarines per Romney's economic stimulus ideas. Certainly more giveaways to the oil barrons and industry titans can be had, and we MUST have at least a few trillions of dollars on hand for the coming round of financial industry bailouts.
If the two Di(a)mon(d)'s profuse apologies are any indication, and gauging by numerous other financial news stories, then you know, and they must know, that we are on the brink of an event bigger than the 2007 financial meltdown.
I have no faith that money from ending the Bush tax cuts, much less adding new wealth tax will be spent wisely. Only need to look at recent fiscal history to prove my concerns.
The current paradigm of massive spending that benefits the oligarchy is endemic, and both sides of the political divide are guilty (the Republicans for doing it, the Democrates for not stopping it). I don't see a way out of this predicament short of a fiscal catastrope. Obama sure can't (or won't) stop it.
Democrats have used voter suppression far more than Republicans... and in doing so the Democrats ensured that elections did not serve any good purpose.
The corporate-state's most effective means of voter suppression has been the liberal activists — the (D) dedicated "progressives" — who for many decades have relentlessly worked to ruthlessly suppress voter support for any people's candidates who dare to stand in true opposition against the sociopathy of the corporate (R) & (D) party's corporatism.
It is the corporate party's (D) dedicated "progressives" who have persuaded people to not vote, if they wouldn't vote to get more evil done better by Democrats.
The depraved duplicity of Democrat operatives is clearly revealed by their opposition to voting against war; their opposition to voting for public funded non-employer based healthcare for all; their opposition to voting for immediate redeployment away from militarism and into massive mitigation of climate change.
If the (D) dedicated "progressives" had the good intentions they claim to have, then they'd strongly encourage people to forcefully vote for Greens, to make the corporate party's money manufactured Democrats fear the people... but then, If the (D) dedicated "progressives" had any good intentions they wouldn't be the stalwart (D) voting supporters of the corporate party's corporatism they are.
Todays' young don't have a half-century of human habitable planet time left to waste upon a proven to be false faith-based belief in corporate solutions, like the degenerate ("Greatest" and "My") generations did.

Every French citizen I know voted for this man. I stand with them. We need a socialist of our own to elect! I know there are socialists running every election, but they get zero press, no recognition, and rarely get on ballots. We have so many issues facing us... fair elections sans corporate influence is just one of them. It's hard to know where to start!

What difference is it what the tax rate is if IRS is too overwhelmed to find its own records? They admit to this. And the DOJ is too overwhelmed to prosecute the biggest offenders, and only has time to make successful cases against employees of the mob.
This has been the case since 1930- red herrings all over the place to clog up the regulatory and enforcement agencies so the tyrant class can stay steps ahead of the game with new legislation, offshore loopholes, and secret vaults.
The tyrant class has to be put down absolutely. Why is it abominable to have a social conscience? It is not. Any civilized, worthwhile person works for the common good and health of the world. I don't want to be an Ugly American.

The French economy will begin to turn-around, jobless rate will drop. Some wealthy will leave the country, but the vast majority will adhere to their pride in France and will recognize their fair share. Pharmeceuticals or prescribed drugs are the #1 cause of unnatural death among seniors. When is the last time you heard of someone dying from medical cannabis? Yet, we allow a rogue federal law enforcement agency to overrule our medical profession, point automatic assault rifles to our heads, and rob us of our cannabis prescriptions?
My son was a victim of these drugs. He had chronic asthma from pollution. He developed chronic sinusitus on top of it. He was forced to take over the counter remedies for relief. His insurance plan would not cover specialized services. There was lazer surgery to correct the closed passageways. This service was not covered. He had to settle for the over the counter drug. He took it too long. It caused seizures. He died at 42.
The reason these stories go on and on is because of our politicians. Republicans will be changing their logo to the dinosaur instead of the elephant soon. They are a minority. Unfortunately, many are changing coats and hats and calling themselves democrats now. If the democratic party wants to remain viable they must stop talking "middle class" this and "middle class" that. What about the single income families that used to be middle class? Why aren't we being included in the discussion? Why should we elect wealthy people to represent us?
1.We want healthcare to be declared a human right with medicare a public option
2. We want affordable home ownership that is energy and water efficient for single income families.
3.We want a 4 day work week with a 3 day alternate shift with a liveable wage.
4. We want government investments in a new green economy to shift away from the petro-chemical economy.
5.We want water to be declared a human right with all private aquifers and water sources to become public commons managed by regional water boards..
6. We want a 3 strikes and your out for corporations violating our laws. They no longer operate in our economy if they continue to poison our environment and endanger our health. Strenghten the EPA. They are the most important law enforcemnt agency. They protect us from the most dangerous criminals to ever walk this earth. These criminals are destroying a planet as well as our lives..

As Americans we must realize if you want something done then we must stand up and do it ourselves. I have decided to run for city council here in Santa Cruz, CA. There are big powers trying to push a desalinization water treatment plant on our community. Desal is the most costly, most heavily chemically treated water available for human consumption. Two districts, San Diego and Santa Barbara have shot down the idea as being economically illogical. San Diego imports 100% of their water. Santa Cruz imports 0%. We have a better idea using tertiary to restore our river and recharge our aquifers. This plan is being stonewalled and off the table for discussion. I am going to change this and bring the tertiary solution to the attention of our community.
Desal trucks in tons of chemiclas into out community. Tertiary eliminates chemicals from our community. Who do you think profits most from a desal operation? The people providing the treatment chemicals profit most. Who is the largest provider of water treatment chemicals? You guessed it, Koch Industries. The head of our water board pushing the desal is Bill Koch. We can't sit back and write and talk about it anymore. Time for action!

Why do people gravitate to superstition and magical thinking to "explain" their universe and/or their "truths"? Seems to me like a waste of time and it helps to prevent people from acting in a manner that will elicit real change.
And the ones who have mastered the art of hocus pocus deception foisted on everyone else allows them to control others. They want people to be disarmed and thinking "peace and love" so that they don't act in ways that would really effect change. Let the masses believe in idiotic ideas like heaven or hell, pearly gates and streets paved with gold, angelic beings congregating in harmony and peace, your very own 72 horny virgins in heaven. Other would-be masters of the uncritical masses invent and hype their "just pretend" ephemeral super-beings, heros and saviors, in all manner of strangeness, preaching peace, love, and brotherhood, while at the same time creating those bogey-men in the closet scare characters to keep people imprisoned in their minds and manipulated by the priests and priestesses of those ridiculous fantasy-world ideas.
There is strength in numbers only if they stop believing in phantasmagorical nonsense and unify against those manipulators who keep people dumbed down with religious nonsense. The masses have to rise up against their oppressors or nothing will change in favor of the masses. They will continue being squeezed and put to death (which is what it really amounts to..you, or your loved ones may die through lack of proper medical care) by the ruling elite.
This war was started by the ruling elite and they are winning. The only way to counter this is to stop believing in the corrupt ballot box, or other magical, hopeful thinking. No mystical, otherworldly being has, or ever will, come to the aid of the oppressed. And Obama was the last straw, the last hope, the last failure. Is it now finally time for revolution? I am not talking about overthrowing the United States of America...just the criminals who have stolen it from the people. Unless we do this, things will only get progressively worse.
Kings and Tzars, and the ruling ("let them eat cake") elite have been deposed by people who have been so oppressed, many on the edge of starvation, because the ruling class, like today, refused to pay their fair share of taxes and put the burden on those who could least afford them. The masses finally lashed out and did what was inevitably necessary. They lopped of a few heads of the ruling elite..and many of the ruling elite lost their heads first...then the king. The result effected the change necessary to save the masses from their slow, but sure, demise. The people rallied together and forced a change because they were unified along a common necessity of survival.
Not everyone can unify under some ambiguous and ridiculous religious or mystical idea..that has resulted in thousands of different "sects"... all who believe everyone else is going to hell. People have murdered one another merely on the differences in their ridiculous superstitious beliefs. Let's keep it on a totally worldly basis. So drop the peace and brotherly love and higher being crap and we might make some headway in saving our world from the few who make up some of these manipulative fantasies.
The ruling elite love it when people present themselves as peaceful lambs to the slaughter. While you are trying to hug them, they will stab you in the back.
FDR would never have achieved what he did for the masses had it not been for the extremely pissed off and riled up masses. Even Nixon was tempered a bit because he feared the masses were getting really ticked off. Preach peace and brotherly love and harmony and these ruling elite just laugh at you and fear you not.
If we can make these few worry a little bit more about how futile it would be to have so much wealth and trying to spend any of it from their prison cells or graves; and prevent inheritance rights...wealth to be returned to the state in benefit to the masses....then, perhaps, they might not be so greedy and power-hungry. They just might have a change of "heart" (brain) and stop being such greedy a-holes.

Yes, we have only ourselves to blame for the damage being done to our planet. When scientists warned us what was about to happen, we did nothing, & mocked President Jimmy Carter for trying to persuade us to cut back on consumption. President Obama is being mocked & vilified for trying to find green energy solutions to these horrendous problems, but it's probably too late.
The oil barons, meanwhile continue to "drill, baby, drill" and we continue to heedlessly lap up every drop of what comes out of the ground. Now we're moving our depradations to the fragile arctic & will end up reaping an ever increasing amount of whirlwind.
I have just spent the last two years researching HEMP and what our friend JTaylor said above is of so importance to Humanity right now .
The enormity of this cannot be over looked ,it's time for ordinary people to take the resonsibility to build a sustainable planet and use nature not abuse nature ,our friend is nature this is not the enemy.
Hemp has been placed on this planet for our use ,stop cutting down trees ,they provide so much of our oxygen and balance much of the ecosystem hemp could provide us with all the paper we need.
Everything that can be made with petroleum you can make with Hemp it is natures no 1 PLANT.
It can grow any where requires no pesticides and little rain.

Most,if not all of the worlds problems and conflicts ,and our problems would be solved and resolved if we would ,as a society:
1.Abandon the concept of Seperation.
2.Adopt the concept of Visibility.
The time has come to see ourselves in a new way and stop denying the truth of who we are stop doubting ourselves ,the people who currently hold the power do not want this out come to occur ,because they would know that there time would come to an end .
The two biggest problems in the Human experience would be solved and organised religions power would return to the individual where all the power is anyway.

Cannabis Sativa, also commonly known as hemp or marijuana, is drought-resistant, can be grown from Hawaii to Alaska to Florida thus negating the need for wars over foreign resources, is inexpensive to process into food, fabric, plastic, paper, medicine, and fuel, and helps clean the air, soil and water as it is growing.
The US Federal government legalized "Marihuana" to support our military during World War II. Watch the 1942 USDA film, HEMP FOR VICTORY. If the US legalizes Marijuana again - perhaps to support our troops in the War on Drugs, for example - we can then use this resource for everything that Nature intended, leaving fossil fuels in the ground where they belong and leaving petroleum company CEOs with nothing.

emocrats all over America are claiming victory in the Chief Justice Roberts' vote to uphold the constitutionality of the President's Health Care Law. Conservatives all over America are campaigning all the harder for a president and a congress that will overthrow the law in the future. Thomas Friedman in his New York Times column praises Roberts to skies for putting the country ahead of ideology. Others have seen Roberts as saving “his court” from the appearance of ideological control.
But Roberts is a conservative, and a very smart, forward-looking one at that. What Roberts accomplished on one issue was to enshrine two conservative ideologies - without the Democrats even noticing while they were cheering. He did this by using the Court's ability to turn metaphors into law. He accomplished this with two votes.
First he was the swing vote that imposed the idea that Health Care Is A Product and set the stage for a possible general principle: The Interstate Commerce Clause governs the buying and selling of products and the government cannot force anyone to people to buy a product (real or metaphorical).
Second, Roberts was the swing vote on the ruling that saved the Affordable Health Care Act by creating a precedent for another metaphorical legal principle: A fee or payment imposed by the government is a tax.
In short, in his votes on one single issue, Roberts single-handedly extended the power of the Court to turn metaphor into law in two conservative directions.
Many important laws, especially in the area of environmental protection, use the interstate commerce clause. The Court in this session held that the EPA cannot keep a property owner from developing, and hence destroying, a wetland on their property. Will the general principle that comes out of the latest Supreme Court decisions be seen to be that the Commerce Clause cannot be used to preserve the environment but only to govern commercial transactions? The Endangered Species Act is based on the Commerce Clause. Will the above principle be used to kill the Endangered Species Act?
Given the conservatives' success in rousing public ire against taxes, will all fees and other government payments be argued to be taxes that should be minimized, eliminated, or not even proposed?
Roberts is no fool. In one stroke, he both protected the Court from charges of ideology and became categorized as a “moderate,” while enshrining two metaphor-based legal principles that can be used to promote and implement conservative policy in the future, with devastating broad effects.
We are as happy as other Democrats that the Affordable Care Act has mostly been declared constitutional. But we caution Democrats throughout the country to keep an eye out for conservative uses of the two metaphors that played the central role in the latest Supreme Court rulings - and for ways to keep them from being extended to impose conservative beliefs and doctrines
