The republicans will wake up after they've been voted out of office and are sitting at home twiddling their thumbs and wondering what they can mess up next.

Term limits are not the answer. Many of these people are first-timers. How would term limits affect what they can do in the next 2 years?. There is a method though: vote them out of office.

This is a video of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq taken when built in 2008, April 18th when the Bush regime was in the White House, a legacy which when passed over to President Obama, he "obliged."

Fortress America: The US Embassy in Iraq - YouTube

THIS IS AN OCCUPATION. THIS EMBASSY STRONGLY SUGGESTS THAT THE WHITE HOUSE GOVERNS IRAQ AND NOT THE IRAQI PARLIAMENT.

PRESIDENT OBAMA SAYS HE IS BRINGING THE TROOPS HOME. HE HAS WAITED UNTIL HIS POLLS HAVE FALLEN DRAMATICALLY AND THE NEW ELECTION TERM IS ABOUT TO BEGIN. MORE GRANDSTANDING. BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ALL THE AMERICAN MILITARY BASES IN IRAQ? WILL THOSE BASES THEN BE DISMANTLED? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. AND EXACTLY WHO ARE ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE U.S. EMBASSY IN IRAQ OTHER THAN U.S. DIPLOMATS AND THE MILITARY? WHAT DO U.S. DIPLOMATS HAVE TO DO IN IRAQ? INTERFERE IN THE PLANS OF THE U.S. PLACED PUPPET GOVERNMENT IN IRAQ? THE FORMER BUSH REGIME PROMISED TO ORDER DIPLOMATIC STAFF INTO THE IRAQ EMBASSY IN CASE EMPLOYEES WERE UNWILLING TO GO. THE U.S. MILITARY DOES THE SAME WITH THEIR SOLDIERS.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE U.S. VETERANS WHEN THEY RETURN HOME FROM IRAQ? THERE IS NO MONEY FOR THEM, THEY WHO HAVE BEEN MAIMED, EMOTIONALLY, PSYCHOLOGICALLY, AND PHYSICALLY. THERE ARE NO JOBS. AND LOOK WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HEALTH CARE AND EDUCATION.

SO, SAYING THE U.S. TROOPS ARE COMING HOME DOES NOT MEAN THAT IRAQ IS NO LONGER OCCUPIED, NOR GOVERNED BY THE LONG ARM OF THE U.S. EMBASSY INSIDE OF BAGHDAD, IRAQ. THE SHEER SIZE OF THE EMBASSY GIVES THE IMPRESSION THAT IRAQ IS RULED FROM WASHINGTON INSTEAD OF BY ITS OWN GOVERNMENT.

IT DOES MEAN THAT NOW PRESIDENT OBAMA CAN APPEASE ISRAEL BY SAYING THAT HE TRIED TO KEEP SOLDIERS IN IRAQ BUT THE U.S. PLACED PUPPET GOVERNMENT IN IRAQ WOULDN'T GO FOR IT.

THAT THE IRAQIS WERE TRYING TO RID IRAQ OF AMERICAN TROOPS HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR YEARS WHEN THE DISSIDENT IRAQI GOVERNMENT TRIED TO MAKE THE U.S. TROOPS GO HOME.

IN 2011, THE PENTAGON AND THE WHITE HOUSE WILL HAVE FOR THEMSELVES A BACK-UP PLAN BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS DO.

THERE ARE STILL THE CIA AND THEIR BLACKWATER THUGS AND ASSASSINS (THOUGH BLACKWATER CHANGED IT'S NAME INSIDE OF IRAQ) AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE THIS, THOSE THUGS WILL BE CHANNELING THEIR EFFORTS SECRETLY BACK INSIDE OF IRAN AS WELL AS IRAQ.

IF PRESIDENT OBAMA WERE IN THE LEAST SYMPATHETIC TO THE WALL STREET PROTESTERS, THEN HE WOULD ORDER ALL ARRESTED PROTESTERS RELEASED FROM CAPTIVITY IMMEDIATELY.

It is a very bad day for most americans, watching as the two political parties do their distruction to the americas and the people.

It is fully understood that they are not here to help the people of this land anymore. Therefore not being Americans, I wish for them to be removed out of their jobs and replaced with people of the US who care about this country. Yes fired, and removed they are not doing the job we voted them to do they are not working at all for the voters.

We need to demand term limits for all posts including the Supreme Court this would stop much of the repeated nightmares.

Palindromedary, I was not aware of the wealth of 'minerals' from Afghanistan. Thank you for that information. It all fits into the whole picture, where Americans place their bases and why and for whom. More and more people are becoming awakened and the next move made by President Obama is not all as innocent as it may seem to be. Though it will be good to get American troops out of Iraq, for the troops as well as for the Iraqis, let us just see what is actually left in. It will be interesting to see whether all the U.S. troops will come home by the end of 2011 or whether some or all will be 'diverted' to another war scene by the Pentagon. We will pick up on this in the next forum. See you there.

We, the people, should not look for referees for Congress and the Senate any more. Both houses are hopelessly defunct. All we get from them is legislation which makes the rich even richer, and lets them get away with looting the public purse without being arrested.

Today I overheard a report on satellite in which the interviewed person estimates that the rich have absconded with roughly 47 trillion dollars wafted away into their secret offshore bank accounts, and all of these funds are believed to be in one way or another from taxpayers, leaked to the rich through politicians betraying the public trust of the people as they make laws with loopholes for the wealthy.

To stop this transfer of public wealth is not to give these 2 institutions a referee, but to disband them by shutting them down and permit a small group of appointed people take over the White House, which have integrity, a heart for the people, and a love for a United States that is not warmongering all over the world. They also need to understand the flaws of the money system and begin to monetize funds into circulation which benefit the people, INTEREST FREE!

These measures must also include erasing all national public debts, regardless whether incurred by the national or state governments. Such moves would tremendously ease the debt taxation load on the incomes of the people, and eventually no one would fall between the cracks.

What you people need is a leader to guide you, one you have empowered to decree what may remain standing, and what must fall.

I have to say this new info about troops leaving Iraq by the end of the year is good news for sure. But, your changing position of absolving his administration of their inability for 3 years to stand up for the 99% is wrong headed. Maybe I misheard or interpreted what I heard when you spoke of the troop withdrawal.

This is purely get him re-elected crap. Progressives have been calling for this since the bush administration. I voted for Mr. Obama in '08. I thought, despite some questions on his voting record in the senate, that he would be a Roosevelt Democrat and truly shake up the governing landscape. What we got was the third term of George W. Bush. That is still the case. While he didn't want to look back and prosecute anyone in the Bush administration for wrong doings, now you seem to be suggesting that we don't look back at Mr Obama's lack of doing in these last 3 years? I agree,He did get some watered down legislation passed , but not what he could have in critical areas. I'm not even going down the list. You know the list. President Obama does not get a pass for killing Bin Laden and helping to kill Kadafy when we still have millions out of work, unlawful foreclosures, millions homeless, 50 million w/o health care, rendition of prisoners, and Loyd Blankfein conducting business as usual on wall street.

He'll probably get my vote again, without a viable 3rd party alternative, but I'm not sticking my head in a hole.

    Keep Fighting For Democracy

HOW ARE REGULATORS AND REFERRES ALIKE?

Think of attending a NFL or a NBA game without a referree, fun? Think about it! The analogy is the same for regulations - human nature is the same off or on the field/court - we thrive with rules and regulations!!!

    The Peoples Plea

    By Chuck Dunlap

    October 2011

It doesn’t feel good to be singing this song

But I have to tell you that something is wrong

We’re not represented in D.C. no more

When they lie to your face just so they can make more

    Our leaders have failed us

    The time is at hand

To think for ourselves every woman and man

The truth is that we have the voice and the power

To pull them all down from their ivory tower

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand up speak out this is still our country

Stand and let your voice ring free

    Corporations are not people

    And greed’s not success

    One percent making more

    And ninety-nine percent less

We used to make our own products

For good jobs and good pay

Now we’re lucky just to make it

    Through just one more day

    They stole your retirement

    Outsourced your jobs

They got a patent says they own

    The corn on your cob

When it’s illegal for a farmer

    To save his own seed

We got to stand up right now

    To this damn corporate greed

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand up speak out this is still our country

Stand and let your voice ring free

    Now let’s talk religion

    How would Jesus feel

    When he saw people sick

    Or just needing a meal

    He made the lame walk

    He made the blind see

    He fed five thousand people

And he did it for free

He didn’t charge when he helped you

    Didn’t ask you to pay

    Didn’t donate to people’

Who would give him his way

He didn’t look down his nose

    At the people in need

The only time he showed anger

    Was over bankers and greed

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand and let your voice be heard

Stand up speak out this is still our country

Stand and let your voice ring free

I think this marine should be given more publicity and since this was posted at the bottom of the last forum many may not have seen it. There is a lesson to learn here and that is: What made this marine so effective in the face of police action and their intimidation?

But first let us again for some, look at the video:

    One Brave Marine vs. A

One Brave Marine vs. A Platoon of 30 Cops

"United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement."

    www.whatreallyhappened.com

THINK OF ALL THE MARINES AND U.S. MILITARY COMING HOME AND FIGHTING TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE! THIS IS WHERE THE MARINES SHOULD BE. THIS MARINE IS INDEED A HERO!

FIGHTING OTHER NATIONS WHO ARE NO THREAT TO YOU DOES NOT MAKE YOU A HERO. FIGHTING TO PROTECT YOUR OWN PEOPLE ON YOUR OWN HOME TERRITORY CERTAINLY DOES.

This marine appealing to their 'SENSE OF HONOR' and as a true marine was trained to yell at them that same slogan OVER and OVER again. The marine was an enormous man but the Revolutionaries coming together in one large mass can be likened to one ENORMOUS MAN. The marine INTIMIDATED THROUGH HIS WORDS AND HIS SIZE OVER 30 small stick policemen, WHOM HE COULD HAVE THROWN LIKE PUTTY AGAINST THE WALL.

In addition to this a marine is taught to lay down his life for his country WITH HONOR, even though he or she may be persuaded into wars which should not exist. So here this marine comes home and finds that his very brothers in the police force are ABUSING AND HARRASSING THEIR OWN AMERICAN PEOPLE, the VERY PEOPLE the MARINE is told HE IS TO DEFEND!

THE MARINE IS SWORN TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION WHICH CONTAINS A RIGHT TO PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY AND DEMONSTRATIONS.

THIS MARINE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE AN AMERICAN PRESIDENT WHO UPHOLDS THESE TENETS OF THE CONSTITUTION OR DEMANDS THE RELEASE OF THE PROTESTERS.

SO HE DEFENDS HIS AMERICAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS, AND THE AMERICAN NATION AGAINST THE police who work for Wall Street and the 1% BECAUSE UNLIKE THE POLICE, HE LOVES HIS COUNTRY AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

As this marine has appealed to the sense of honor of the policemen and their police chiefs so have his words we can be sure touched the hearts and minds of his fellow marines whose time must surely come to PROTECT THE PEOPLE.

  • Will Republicans filibuster Reid's vote Fri on part of the Jobs Act to hire 400,000 teachers, firefighters & cops?   13 years 43 weeks ago

The only answer to these problems is to get the GOP out of control of the House and we have to do that in the 2012 elections. In order to have a fair election next year we have to put a stop to the GOP strategy of rigging the elections by passing state legislations to suppress voters rights.

  • Filibustered...It’s a dangerous, and heartless political game   13 years 43 weeks ago

The party system under the 1% will always ying-yang back and forth and continue to be a nest of vipers, each side lunging for each other's throats, and the worst of this always happens near the preparation for election time. It is not good to change our focus back into that cesspool but rather we should continue in focusing upon a transition into a system which is for the people in all areas of their lives and not for the people in only a few areas in their lives. With the money system gone there will then be no more separation between the people and their education, health care, jobs nor any other situation.

  • Filibustered...It’s a dangerous, and heartless political game   13 years 43 weeks ago

Clearly, they followed the orders of their masters. We need a powerful new slogan here. To oust the New World Order, we need The New Wealth Order. Rather than wealth in the hands of the ages-old oligarchs, wealth into the new and many hands of the people. Real wealth created by the thought and toil of working people rather than the artificial wealth of bankers that serves to impoverish nations. Finally, the true restoration of ORDER as it should and must be for the billions here today, and for the restoration of the planet.

  • Will Republicans filibuster Reid's vote Fri on part of the Jobs Act to hire 400,000 teachers, firefighters & cops?   13 years 43 weeks ago

I voted yes because it included a tax increase on their rich buddies. If it were being paid for with cuts to social programs they'd pass it in a NY minute.

  • Filibustered...It’s a dangerous, and heartless political game   13 years 43 weeks ago

Why has there been no move to change the Senate rules to eliminate the filibuster? I seem to remember the Republicans threatening to do so a few years back. It is time for the Democrats to give the Republicans a dose of their own medicine, don't you think?

  • We’re in the Midst of a Global Lost Generation   13 years 43 weeks ago

It looks like the New World Order is becoming a thing of the past as mammoth populations of young people are taking back their world. The big slogan should be The New Wealth Order -- where everyone shares in the resources of this planet, including the planet itself.

  • We’re in the Midst of a Global Lost Generation   13 years 43 weeks ago

I think the first thing all Americans should do it to take their money out of the largest banks in the US and put it into local banks or Credit Unions. You local small bank will work with you on a personal level for loans and keep the money in the community.

Wall street will feel it if all the 99%ers and their friends across the country close their bank accounts with Chase and Wells Fargo and Bof A etc.

Secondly..real reform won't happen as long as the Supreme Court is walking in step with Wall Street.

The tenure or the Supreme Court should be changed from lifetime to a 12 year term with a judge cycling out every 2 years. Th

The Chief Justice should be whomever is the senior judge at the time. This would de-politicize the process of appointing judges and will ensure fresh ideas and new blood.

  • We’re in the Midst of a Global Lost Generation   13 years 43 weeks ago

The biggest "gold story" of all times is the one about Yamashita's Gold. A very interesting story about how the Japanese had, for many years previous to... and during WWII, pillaged Manchuria, China, and southeast Asia and had tunnels dug in the Philippines to stash their booty. Over a hundred tunnels were dug and laden with the gold and jewelry. Sterling Seagraves wrote a great book about it and even made a couple of CDs with maps and documents and photos of it. MacArthur had Yamishita's driver tortured to find out where some of the tunnels were located and the US got so much gold from that that had they made it public and put the gold in the system it would have reduced the price of gold by a lot. They stashed it away and used it, partly to fund the cold war with Russia. Marcos got some of it also...but there is still undiscovered booby-trapped tunnels full of gold to this day...and many well known people have tried to search for it. Obviously, the US never returned the booty to their rightful owners...largely China. I have seen official ship's log of a US submarine that mentioned replacing their ballast with bars of gold before it was returned to the US from the Philippines at that time.

When I was in Saudi Arabia, in the early 80's, I read about the discovery of a wealth of minerals (can't remember just what) that was oozing up on the floor of the Red Sea as the rift plate action was such that it was churning out these things from below the sea bottom. And now we are hearing about a wealth of minerals from Afghanistan that could be exploited. So it is not all strictly just about oil.

Great video of a true hero Marine who spoke up for the people! Thanks, Cynus1! There were 30 cops but they all looked a little skittish about the size of that guy. I'll bet he could have taken them all and done some real damage. But I think he did some real damage to their psyche..

By the way, there was an article about US troops amassing on the Pakistani border that was pretty interesting as well. It was down past the Ron Paul vids..

Palindromedary, THANK YOU for the information. In particular:

" I have been trying to find out where the "little mountains" are in Saudi Arabia. I think they are in the Hoffuf region and south through the Rub Al Khali toward Oman. There is a wadi plain in that area that they discovered contains a lot of gold in the sands."

It was quite some time ago when the "little mountains" were discovered, but they were to be kept "off limit" and for some reason, Israel was trying to get to it through the west. Maybe you could fill me in a little more on this.

I know the 1% loves to hoard gold and take it out of circulation in order to manipulate the market.

  • We’re in the Midst of a Global Lost Generation   13 years 43 weeks ago

President Obama has not only kept the war in Iraq and Afghanistan flourishing, but has started a war in Yemen, Pakistan, Libya, Syria (via Blackwater thugs), Somalia, and is now in Uganda. In addition President Obama continues giving the American people's money to Israel at an amount of 3 billion per year; giving the Israelis white phospherous to dump on virtually unarmed Palestinians, and do not forget all the bombs, as well as war planes and helicopters. The White House loves its superiority in the air for its victims have no way to protect themselves. President Obama sold out his White House chair before he ever took it, to the Lobbyists, Wall Street and Israel.

In addition to this President Obama and his administration express a complete lack of remorse as they go from one assassination without due process of justice to the next.

What happened to his words when he stated that when he took the White House he fully intended to be on an equal basis with the Iranian President for example?!

What about shutting down Guantanamo prison? Well, we know to shut down one would have really done no good, for the Pentagon would only have moved the prisoners to another local around the world to continue their torture on them without due process!

President Obama is ashamed to even face his black Americans who helped put him there! Instead of being proud that a black man has become the President of the United States, President Obama has waivered that right by showing the world that he, in fact, is a white Lobbyist. He has joined the 1% and seems not ashamed of it!

We know every U.S. President who intended at one time or another to do something good for the American people and the nations around the world, became threatened by the 1% and their people.

Look at the people President Obama surrounded himself with as soon as he took the chair. That gives to you all the answers right there.

BUSH HAS THE BLOOD OF MILLIONS ON HIS HANDS WHILST PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS CONTINUED BUSH'S LEGACY POUNCING ON OTHER NATIONS, THEREIN THE BLOOD ON HIS HANDS GROWS BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS!

Don't waste the occupations — make them truly historically effective!

There's more choice than just the streets. The transparency of complete corporate corruption in Obmanation has provided the young an opportunity to make far better voting choices than their parents "My Generation" has... and if their parents care for their children they can join them and begin to make better voting choices than they have.

It's time for tens of millions of people, who've been misled, abused and victimized by the corporate person candidates they've supported, to stop their active and/or passive support of all the neoliberal corporate party policies they angrily protest against, and to start voting for a people's democratic government responsibly responsive to the natural persons' needs that they've always been saying they want, but haven't been voting for.

It's time for protesting people to sensibly put their votes to work in a people's party actual opposition to everything they've been protesting against.

    Gold and silver

With its 20 million tonnes of gold ore, Saudi Arabia covered a good part of the 2,000T local market, and is exporting to India, Europe and USA.

Mahd Ad-Dhahab is the A class mine deposit and is located in the western province of Saudi Arabia, 280km from Jeddah. Ma’Aden holds the mining license and over 50km of tunnelling has been mined, with 2.7MT of ore extracted at an average grade of 21.89G/T gold.

Al-Sukhaybarat (open-pit) gold deposit is located 250km north of Mahd Ad-Dhahab, and is considered very valuable in gold and silver. The mine has been operated by the Saudi Company for Precious Metals, Ltd. (SCPM), a subsidiary of Ma’Aden.

The Bulghah mine, another resource deposit surrounding the Al-Sukhaybarat mine, started operation in 2002. Resources at the Bulghah site have been confirmed at 36.4MT, grading 1.05 G/T of gold. Actual production is at 82,000 ounces of gold.

Al-Hajar is also a Ma’Aden gold mine located in Asir, in the south-western province of Saudi Arabia. Recovery rates of 80 per cent for gold and 30 per cent for silver.

The Al-Amar gold deposit is west of Riyadh, off the Jeddah/Riyadh main road. Ma’Aden has held the mining lease since 1997. There are significant resources of gold, silver, zinc, and copper.

    http://www.austrade.gov.au/Mining-to-Saudi-Arabia/default.aspx

And when I was in Saudi Arabia back in the early 80s almost every other shop in Dhahran or Ad Dammam was a jewelry shop that displayed huge solid gold necklasses and bracelets. I walked into a Dhahran bank and there were 3 tables (very big tables maybe 8'x4') that had orderly piles of money stacked up over every inch of the tops of the tables and piled about 2 feet, or so, high. One table was US $100 bills and the other two tables were Saudi Riyals. Anyone could have just hopped over the short wall that was only about 3-4 feet tall. I had traveled by car as far south from Dhahran as Udhailiyah and stopped in at Al Hasa Oasis. I've been as far north as As Safaniyah and as far west as Al Jubail. As I surf the internet for photos and maps and Google Earth, I can see how far along Saudi Arabia has come since the early 80s. Those small Jebels I climbed and the intervening spaces are now all housing. I remember seeing the flags from the surveyors. I have been trying to find out where the "little mountains" are in Saudi Arabia. I think they are in the Hoffuf region and south through the Rub Al Khali toward Oman. There is a wadi plain in that area that they discovered contains a lot of gold in the sands.

I have heard of the fabled King Solomon Gold mines in the mountains along the western side of the Arabian Shield. When I was in Al Jubail I tried to drive up one of the mountain roads but came to signs telling me not to go any further...so I didn't.
