Yet, here is another effort to treat Americans as slaves and as mushrooms. The internet has been a great educational tool for me. We are truly a police state.

After reading this quote from St. Francis of Assisi there may still be hope for me. I have proclaimed on Thom's blog that I am a sinner.

    **Reflection of the Week**

"I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, [God] can work through anyone."

@chuckie8, personally, I believe that the conservative crazies are hiring these engineers and scientists to work on the rigged electronic voting machines to help switch the votes from Democrats to Republicans. Financial institutions have already the brightest crooks and thieves stealing our money.

It turns out that the USCC (United States Chamber of Commerce) may actually be able to separate out the money they solicit from foreign governments that goes to the general fund so those funds won't be used to influence our elections. Those funds are channeled to the other USCC general fund, the Unamerican Secret Chamber of Commies, general fund.

Gerald you forgot to include yet another secondary effect of the financial institutions on the technology of our country. That is, they are hiring all the top notch engineers and scientists from our best schools.

    Max Keiser

    October 6, 2010

Some comments in this report are mine.

I will share with you some information on Max Keiser whenever our middle son emails me with good reports from the Keiser Report. I am not a regular listener to the Keiser Report.

Banksters should stop mooning us and lend more money to the people. Banksters and financial institutions are stealing our money. Equities are for losers because equities are the easiest investment to steal from us. Smart people are into gold. Foreign investors want out of the U.S Treasury Bonds. We have deflation in America. Our government is a panic mode on how really bad is our economy. Banksters and financial institutions are guilty of fraud and no one is going to jail for their crimes. The U.S dollar cannot replace gold!

There are economists who say that wars are good for our economy. We are living in a country that will be at war for at least one hundred years. We will go from deflation to hyperinflation.

Where countries are increasing the retirement age from 60 to 62, the people are taking to the streets in protest.

Financial elites control governments and the people. Banksters should not be given a free ride. Banksters are continuing to steal our money. Goldman Sachs is committing financial terrorism and no one is in jail. The financial elite are corrupt and our present system is corrupt. This financial corruption has been going on for forty years. Greece is seeking to investigate Goldman Sachs. There are not one financial elite and their corruption who have been jailed for perpetrating fraud on the American people for stealing their money.

I believe that a part of the Golden Rule is LIVE, LIBERTY, AND the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS!

If we were following the American Constitution as it was originally intended, we would be following the Golden Rule. If we find that there are some weak areas in our constitution, we can look at the German Constitution and improve our constitution with the areas that are strong in the German Constitution.

  • President Obama is Asking for Help from the Professional Left   14 years 36 weeks ago

I think the role of money has everything to do with Obama's appeasment of the Republicans.

Since the Republicans are the party of Capital, and have been since the Robberbaron era, they have never seemed to have a problem with finding financing for their campaigns from those with the disposable income to do so on a large scale. The Dems, not being able to rely on funding from Labor since Reagan, have had to feed at the same corporate trough as the Republicans. Since Money flows where Money is served, the question then becomes which side will best serve Money?

So even when not in power officially, the Republicans still hold their sway through their nature as the Party of Capital.

  • President Obama is Asking for Help from the Professional Left   14 years 36 weeks ago

What we're seeing is the biggest shortcoming of a two-party system, especially a system so heavily owned by Big Money on both sides of the aisle. It's the "look at the alternative" argument when there is only one alternative, and a much worse one at that. The result is that the "less worse" alternative can take certain voter groups for granted.

The net result is that our political system cannot, and will not, tolerate a true progressive like a Kucinich or a Sanders in the Oval Office. The Nation magazine ran an article a few weeks back that details this dilemma quite well, in my opinion. Right now, we're stuck with centrists (at the most) and far-right wingers - we don't have a true, politically viable left wing in this country (at least not on the federal level), and haven't since at least the Reagan years and the destruction of the labor movement. There are the left wing heroes like the aforementioned Kucinich and Sanders, to be sure, but just not enough of them to make a significant difference in the nation's discourse as of yet.

I will agree with President Obama that change takes time. The Repubs knew this, and have been ready, willing, and unfortunately, able, to change this country in a decidedly rightward direction. We progressives need to take a lesson or two from them in the perseverence department. But I can only hope that he realizes that our votes are not to be taken for granted - he and the Dems need to work for them, like they did in 2008. Most importanly, the Dems and Obama need to earn our votes.

    Guns n' Roses

I am a natural at target shooting, hit the bullseye nearly everytime. I like to go to the target range with my sons and shoot targets, and talk. However, you will never see me or anyone I know showing up at a rally with a gun, a gun belongs in a safe with a lock on the trigger. When I was a young girl, I was taught gun safety right along with my brothers, and also was taught about how true sportsmen and women, never use force or guns, to show off or intimidate people.

I was also taught about how wrong prejudice is.

Yes, I am also a non-violent pacifist, and want this war ended. It is time to stop putting people and issues in a box. Let's get rid of the "label maker" and start working on solutions.

War is near and dear in the hearts of the American psyche for monetary profits and to kill God's children.

  • Daily Topics - Tuesday October 5th, 2010   14 years 36 weeks ago

Wars are necessary in order to sustain American profits for the American rich and for American corporations.

Harvard Professor John Kenneth Galbraith, wrote “As I would put my personal repute behind the authenticity of this document, so would I testify to the validity of its conclusions.”

Some of the conclusions of that study include

    • war produces waste, which is a way to control surpluses
    • war produces jobs and industrial advancement
    • war stimulates the economy
    • war “is, and has been, the essential economic stabilizer of modern societies”
    • war is “virtually synonymous with nationhood”
    • military service has a “patriotic” priority in society
    • wars "have provided...[a] state-supported haven...for the 'unemployable'"
    • war can be used as a “…control device over the hostile, nihilistic, and potential unsettling elements of society…”

Well not that Thom is finished, I'm going back to listening to more Chomsky.

Yeah, Gene, I agree, the aristocracy has always preferred serfdom for the people. Its just that now they seem to be on the brink of succeeding in their aims. (Though some may say they already have succeeded, and its just a matter of time before the evidence of it is prevalent).

@harry ashburn, will Amish meetings in their communities eventually be considered a terror threat? Personally, our world would be a better place if we behaved like the Amish. May God always bless the Amish people!

I agree with Thom that these CEOs do not have the talent to be paid several million dollars a week. We only have to look at our politicians and realize that they are not worth their salaries, especially politicians who want to destroy our country.

Regarding James Brady quotation: The Supreme Court recently found that nobody has a right to police protection; that an emergency call does not guarantee citizens that the police will be there to protect them.. That case came down in DC after three women were terrorized in their apartment. One who was hidden called 911, but the squad car just cruised slowly down the block and did not return.

I don't have the case title, but I'll find it and "get back to ya!"

    ... minutes later:

    The case was Warren v. D.C., http://www.ll.georgetown.edu/federal/judicial/dc/opinions/02opinions/02-...

No raise for social security! Social security recepients will never again receive a raise in social security. We are headed toward the privatization of social security and the eventual end to social security. A truly great safety net for the aged will be history.
