It is like they rule. If you are not very wealthy, you have no say unless you protest, then they think you are filthy and uneducated. Most of the politicians are bought and paid for by the corporations. But what goes around comes around and eventually something will backfire. People are becoming aware.

The economic model comes from two illusions the first is the illusion of Insufficiency the second Disunity our entire economy emerges from the idea that there is not enough to go around(insufficiency)of what humans need to be happy , and the idea that human beings are separate from each other (Disunity).

Ideas about life come from the old spirituality ,presently on our planet wealth is defined as possessions and power .The old spirituality encourages you to have dominion over the earth. We have interpreted this to mean domination. And so ,we have imagined that ownership of,or power over, people, places, and things is an asset-or part of what you have called wealth.

According to this paradigm, the more things you owned ,the more power you had,and the wealthier you were.

When we embrace the New Spirituality all this will change ,wealth will be defined not as possessions and power ,but as access and happiness, use of the stuff of life rather than ownership of the stuff of life how can anyone OWN any part of the earth it belongs to life and we are here as good care takers and stewards sustaining and passing on to the future generations ,we are asked by life to express the Life principle of sustainability. The articles that are placed in our care are ours temporarily ,only for safekeeping ,they are not our possessions this thought is not in any lasting sense functional.

Ownership is a temporary fiction .It is an invention of the mind and ,like all mental constructions,it is temporary, having nothing to do with ultimate reality. Nothing that is possessed by anyone is possessed by them forever ,things may be in your possession ,but they are not your possessions.

When you look at the planet from space there are no boundaries or countries ,we are making it all up this is called make believe ,question do we wish for a beautiful reality? or a nightmare scenario? we get to decide!! We get to create heaven on earth heaven as we will get to understand is right here so heaven can wait paraphrasing the film. The time will come soon when we get to play god as we are supposed to do but with love and understanding and purity and respect and reverence for life we will push life spans way beyond that of what we are living now ,the human lifespan will stretch far into the future .The technology of stem cells ,used with great care and wonderment and new beliefs about what it means to be human combined with a preventative disease care system and responsibility will enable our species to go long and not think short term survival and trash our planet as fast as possible for self gratification so people can hoard more stuff and squander resources as we are doing.

In the last 40 years we have used more resources than the last 40 thousand years!

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"With the ever-growing influence of corporate CEOs and their right-wing allies in all aspects of American life, Hartmann’s work is more relevant than ever. Throughout his career, Hartmann has spoken compellingly about the value of people-centered democracy and the challenges that millions of ordinary Americans face today as a result of a dogma dedicated to putting profit above all else. This collection is a rousing call for Americans to work together and put people first again."
Richard Trumka, President, AFL-CIO
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
