I don't think it should be "illegal" but I do question the timing. The County Clerk's office and the Secretary of State's office have their hands more than full before and just after an election. The voter rolls should be examined and purged sin months to a year prior to an election, and done at least once in a four year election cycle. And yes, I also think we need to keep voter ID laws on the books whereever they now exist, and I think States without them should strongly consider requiring some sort of photo ID and proof of registration.
If it is done, the results should be announced publicly. Names need not be named, but I really would like to know how many names were wiped from the lists & how the fraudulent voters got on the lists in the first place.
As far as I can tell the repugs made this "crisis" up. Frankly, I don't see why illegal immigrants would want to draw this kind of attention to themselves. Wouldn't they rather prefer to keep undercover if they entered the country illegally?
The only voter fraud that exists, is the Republican voter fraud. It has been shown nationally, there is not actual voter fraud. 1/10 of 1% fraud, in which most have been charged, is not even an issue with voter fraud. The republicans created this issue, and as always, another republican, out in out lie and fraud.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Never one to shy away from the truth, Thom Hartmann’s collected works are inspiring, wise, and compelling. His work lights the way to a better America."
—Van Jones, cofounder of RebuildTheDream.com and author of The Green Collar Economy
From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
—Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine
From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"Beneath the success and rise of American enterprise is an untold history that is antithetical to every value Americans hold dear. This is a seminal work, a godsend really, a clear message to every citizen about the need to reform our country, laws, and companies."
—Paul Hawken, coauthor of Natural Capitalism and author of The Ecology of Commerce

I agree, Ohio doesn't have a record of voter problems we have a problem of election laws and methods that are fraudulent.

Right on ! All the republican do is create out of thin air, issues that are not issues. They don't work for us they work only for there Masters.
I liked that reminder of the French Revolution. Off with their heads! (Those of the corporate masters, that is).
