After the Year's Worst Shooting the NRA Continues to Gaslight Americans

Thom plus logo The day after the Virginia beach shooting, the largest mass shooting this year, a spokeswoman for the NRA publicly argued that they had no role in the shooting. The fact is, though, the shooter had been buying a lot of guns recently to prepare for this shooting, and the NRA opposed legislation currently going through the Virginia legislature that would've limited gun purchases to one gun a month to prevent just this kind of scenario.

Eventually America figured out that the tobacco industry have been gaslighting them for decades; the American people are figuring out now that the NRA is and has been doing the same. It's time for rational regulations on guns.

Hey hot coffee, I will rewatch the "Murder Mountain" series and enjoy the scenery. Did you catch that series? Fascinating stuff.

Here is a lady that is driving the leftie/socialists nuts. Candace Owens. I wonder how Hatrmann would handle her in one of his famous "debates" where he continually talks over his guest.

Happy Sunday morning Hot coffee. Another win for conservatives,

"Florida woman who stabbed herself told police she was 'tired of living in Trump's country"

I think this leftie/socialist idea of nature weeding out the stupid is very interesting. I wish them well in this newest method of curing their TDS. It is far more practical than screaming helplessly at the sky.

Later kid.

10,000 Goebbelsesque lies by a fake president and endless kafkaesque delusions that false-religious, Jesus-Trump heretics bear false witness to; 1,000 of the nations top legal scholars from all political stripes -- who've actually read and studied the Mueller Report -- sign a letter calling for impeachment inquiries to begin immediately; 7.5 billion people witness an inept, racist, ignorant, untrustworthy, and -- most obviously -- just plain dumb fool representing the worst of America on the world stage; 2 old cows bellow forlornly, slowly sinking in their own manure...

HotCoffee, thanks for the interesting video. These clowns are the ilk as the groups called the weathermen back in the 1960's. Asshats every last one of them.

Thought for the day,

NORMANDY, FRANCE (June 6, 1944) Three hundred French civilians were killed and thousands more were wounded today in the first hours of America's invasion of continental Europe. Casualties were heaviest among women and children. Most of the French casualties were the result of artillery fire from American ships attempting to knock out German fortifications prior to the landing of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops. Reports from a makeshift hospital in the French town of St. Mere Eglise said the carnage was far worse than the French had anticipated, and that reaction against the American invasion was running high. "We are dying for no reason, "said a Frenchman speaking on condition of anonymity. "Americans can't even shoot straight. I never thought I'd say this, but life was better under Adolph Hitler."

The invasion also caused severe environmental damage. American troops, tanks, trucks and machinery destroyed miles of pristine shoreline and thousands of acres of ecologically sensitive wetlands. It was believed that the habitat of the spineless French crab was completely wiped out, thus threatening the species with extinction. A representative of Greenpeace said his organization, which had tried to stall the invasion for over a year, was appalled at the destruction, but not surprised. "This is just another example of how the military destroys the environment without a second thought," said Christine Moanmore. "And it's all about corporate greed."

Contacted at his Manhattan condo, a member of the French government-in-exile who abandoned Paris when Hitler invaded, said the invasion was based solely on American??financial interests. "Everyone knows that President Roosevelt has ties to 'big beer'," said Pierre Le Wimp. "Once the German beer industry is conquered, Roosevelt's beer cronies will control the world market and make a fortune."

Administration supporters said America's aggressive actions were based in part on the assertions of controversial scientist Albert Einstein, who sent a letter to Roosevelt speculating that the Germans were developing a secret weapon -- a so-called "atomic bomb."??Such a weapon could produce casualties on a scale never seen before, and cause environmental damage that could last for thousands of years. Hitler has denied having such a weapon and international inspectors were unable to locate such weapons even after spending two long weekends in Germany. Shortly after the invasion began, reports surfaced that German prisoners had been abused by American soldiers. Mistreatment of Jews by Germans at their so-called "concentration camps" has been rumored, but so far this remains unproven.

Several thousand Americans died during the first hours of the invasion, and French officials are concerned that the uncollected corpses will pose a public-health risk. "The Americans should have planned for this in advance," they said. "It's their mess, and we don't intend to help clean it up."

The invasion is blamed on Roosevelt's hawkish military advisers and the influence of British Prime Minister Churchill, who have repeatedly ignored calls for a negotiated settlement to end the war and who have reportedly rejected peace overtures from Germany through several neutral parties. Instead, the Roosevelt administration and its allies have chosen to insist on maintaining their extreme policy of demanding unconditional surrender.

So much for "lie for the day."

Notice how utterly shallow and nonsensical radical Republicanism has become amongst the proudly unschooled, under the puerile tutelage of an unrepentant racist and clownish egomaniac, who simply does not live in the real world. Muddling the trusting minds of already confused blind followers by bearing false witness in the public square -- not only about how naked authoritarianism under Trump, McConnell, et al is severely eroding the already crumbling foundations of our dying democracy and violent society but, even more urgently, how the Republican Party as a plutocratic institution is failing spectacularly on the life-or-death challenges facing all humankind -- is now the only card left to the Party's piss-poor poker players, after having squandered all credibility with the public at large, save a sinking ship of fools, by bending the knee to the Orange King, Donald the Liar, the Joker in the deck.

A million mixed metaphors would never appropriately describe such an idiocracy by such "a f*cking idiot." (Thank you, Lindsey Graham.)

Also, notice how clueless Trump cultists have to rely on other people's words to explain their goofy selves. Alas, linking to the fetid swamps in the homelands still doesn't disguise a Trump troll's jumbled-up thoughts and delusions, which make no sense to sane readers who aren't right-wing, Republican hypocrites and liars. Citing and reciting absurd tales from the unholy gospels of the irreligious right (Yes, White Christian Republicanism is just another false religion plaguing the world.) and expecting to be taken seriously is itself a delusion. The mindless mutterings of the Mad King and his cowardly appeasers only resonate with a shrinking base of ignoramuses and kooks.

...Damn fools, just like him, who only pretend to have deep thoughts.

And over here, folks, we have an exquisite display of the deleterious effects of ubiquitous right-wing, Republican propaganda on the poor souls and vacant minds struggling to formulate original thought. Watch how they labor mightily to express themselves with the hollow words of others, relying stupidly on the gross misinterpretation of reality by those who constantly lie on the record to the public.

How sad to live as a second-hand human being! How shameful to exist as nothing but a thought slave easily manipulated by ideological masters with ulterior motives -- political power grabs by irreligious and un-American oligarchs, transparent to all but the gullible marks dumb enough to believe the "bullsh*t and fake news" broadcast live, directly from the very loud mouth of a boisterous carnival huckster with a low IQ.

Bumper-sticker ideas for Republicans: "Damn the facts! Blame Democrats!" ; "RE-ELECT TRUMP ...or he'll go to prison."

For everyone else: "This is a frying pan; this is an egg; this is what happens to a brain on Republicanism/Trumpism/fascism."

Enjoy breakfast!

HotCoffee, happy Tuesday. I enjoyed the butterfly video. I passed it on to a friend who started the Save the Monarch Foundation which has since gone national.

The democrat party leftie/socialist hypocrisy of the day, an article to offer to the raging butthurt leftie socialists that complain about Trumps locking kids in cages" meme that seems to give them something to rage about,

"Obama officials rushed to explain photos from 2014 that went viral showing locked-up immigrant children — and Trump's facilities look the same"

Just more despicable lies, sputtering rants, and simple-minded deflections from a drooling troll/bot too far gone to think for her/itself. How long before Thom deletes you this time?

Trump is the only President in history who formally introduced and strictly enforced a racist policy of "zero tolerance" on the southern border. This lame brainchild was collectively hatched by butt-boy and psychopath Stephen Miller, sloppy Steve Bannon, good 'ol boy Jeff Sessions, two-faced John Kelly, secret advisor/lover Sean Hannity, and God knows who else, and then gleefully high-fived by Trump in front of klieg lights and cameras with his signature angry face defying the sensibilities of decent people everywhere -- puffy white bags under bushy eyebrows and shifty eyes with a haughty, Mussolini-style head-back-chin-out pose.

Beyond the unconstitutional legalese farces of their corrupted lawyers and department heads, the principals focused primarily on kidnapping innocent children from desperate parents seeking honest-to-God asylum, as a deterrent and warning to all other little brown bastards who would dare touch Meerkkkan soil, gawddamnit!

Here's a typical headline for you: "Big tough guys with tiny flags bully helpless women and children, ripping families apart." That's real U.S. policy, not "fake news."

How evil is that? Their demented dream of White America is the darkest of nightmares, a calculated and breathtakingly immoral decision that violates all norms of international law and human dignity.

But why should fundamental morality, or the lack thereof, have to be explained to those who worship Trump?

Then, before they finally got caught, subsequently scattering God's children to the wind, Trump's White House -- tax-funded reprobates committing mortal sins in our name -- initially tried to get away with herding huge crowds of traumatized kids into cold, inhuman cages like diseased animals. Several died under suspicious circumstances; several were beaten and raped by low-paid, unlicensed "caregivers" hired in a big fat hurry. "Welcome to the land of liberty and freedom, ya little bastards!"

America's dystopia. Yeah, vote Republican!

These deplorable human rights abuses are still going on, despite worldwide outrage and condemnation. Now the jack-booted thugs can't even find so many of these lost and forgotten children irreparably harmed for life. They don't even have faces to put on milk cartons; yet, an enormous, glaring poster of disgusting demons insulting the Cross, spitting on the Flag, and crapping on the Constitution is now the proud angry face of America -- the U.S. part, anyway, of these twin continents, barely hanging onto each other by a thread.

Have you heard? They say it's a Christian nation too.

"And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein." --Luke 18:15-17 King James Version

Ha! The joke's on God.

Or is it?

Good Wednesday to you HotCoffee. My opinion of Harris is pretty low based on the fact she slept her way into politics, but there was also a lot of controversy during her reign as attorney general of CA. As a resident, what is your opinion of this woman?

Hi Diane,

Well "show me the the money" Willie Brown brought her up well. I like Willie though, he was helpful in working with us regarding alt. energy issues as we worked on trying to help fix alternative energy storage issues. Willie loved and cared about S.F.and S.F. loves Willie.

I'm not for Kamala at all. Kamala loves and cares about her career.

Really busy day today I'll get back with you tomorrow.

Why don't you two get a room?

"Gooood morning, Vietnaaaam!" Such a beautiful day de da ...tiptoeing through the tulips your butterflies...

" ... fact... [Kamala] Harris... slept her way into politics..." --Granny Di

...pssst... And have you heard about the ...ah... "fact" that a certain old, fat, used-up trucker's mama had fecked her way through the Deep South all the way from Looweezeana, Misusipy, and Aladamnbama to Geefeckingorja -- purportedly, rumor has it, to prop up a sagging trucking business for her dumb ol' hubby-bubba, who can't read-n-rite so good and hasn't seen that wee cock under that beer gut since his early 20's, sometime last century?

...pssst... And the lore in the truckstops is that those nice big fat 'n sweaty rednecks lining up for quickies used to call her "Truckin' Granny" ...because, well, you know. Nowadays, she goes by a discarded Chelsea Clinton moniker (subconscious atonement?) and offers up worthless opinions and gossip like a clucking old hen in a knitting circle.

Hey, just stuff I heard on the internet or wherever. "People are saying."; "Fair and Balanced"; "We Report. You decide." -- FUX "News"

"Uh ...uh ...UH! Truckin' Granny, yeah! ...Uh oh, gotta go puke. ...Next!"

Never mind the bald hypocrisy of clutching one's pearls and gasping (salivating?) over someone else's sex life -- true or not (most likely not, considering the source) -- when supporting and enabling a longtime, on-the-record, serial sexual predator and pervert, who's hopelessly tangled up in wide-ranging litigation over hush money payments, obstruction of justice, campaign fraud, bank fraud, insurance fraud, charitable foundation fraud, Trump University fraud, inauguration funding fraud, tax fraud, money-laundering fraud, or you name it fraud.

He even cheats at golf.

Of course, it's hard to keep a firm grip on a slippery sleaze bucket. Teflon Don the double-dealing backstabber (Ask anyone in New York.) -- who's been continuously involved in personal and business court battles most of his adult life, at least over the last 45 years, involving truckloads of criminality and unethical behavior -- would've made ol' Truckin' Granny squeal in delight back in the day, had she not been so far down the scale from Trump's gold standard of prostitutes, that is.

UPDATE: An intelligent and aggressive prosecutor is just what this efed-up democracy needs right gawdam now! Or just about anybody else for that matter, who has a pulse and doesn't have a scarlet "R" tattooed on their big dumb face or big fat butt ...hard to tell the difference anymore.

BTW, Maura Dolan concludes that Kamala Harris ended up doing the right thing. What, are you stupid or just crotchety? Is the Clinton Derangement Syndrome wearing thin? Time to pick another perceived Democratic frontrunner to lie about and hate on? Preferably a woman? A "minority?" All of the above?

Wow, impressive! Such an embarrassment of riches in the Democratic field to choose from. And all beating Trump hands down. Damn. Mmm... let's go with the beautiful, strong, smart, accomplished woman of color from California with mixed ancestry (India, Jamaica) who rose through the ranks because of merit, tenacity, leadership, and guts.

Jamaica? Black? Merit, my ass; she would've had to feck her way to the top! She is kinda scary though. So threatening to our way of life, i.e., white privilege. de da ...tiptoe through the tulips your butterflies ...another beautiful day...

...another pack of lies, another buzzword du jour, another shallow distraction from the pressing issues of the day. Remember those, the ones that actually matter, to intelligent life on Earth?

"...La de da, all you gotta say is la de da..." --Ringo Star

Thom's Blog Is On the Move

Hello All

Thom's blog in this space and moving to a new home.

Please follow us across to - this will be the only place going forward to read Thom's blog posts and articles.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"With the ever-growing influence of corporate CEOs and their right-wing allies in all aspects of American life, Hartmann’s work is more relevant than ever. Throughout his career, Hartmann has spoken compellingly about the value of people-centered democracy and the challenges that millions of ordinary Americans face today as a result of a dogma dedicated to putting profit above all else. This collection is a rousing call for Americans to work together and put people first again."
Richard Trumka, President, AFL-CIO
From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
