Rumble - Why More Cops in Schools - Instead of Counselors?

Ron Meyer, Red Alert Politics & Chuck Rocha, Solidarity Strategies & Alex Pfeiffer, The Daily Caller join Thom. Nearly 850,000 high school students don't have access to a school counselor if they're facing academic or emotional problems. At the same time nearly 1.6 million students go to schools where they do have access to law enforcement! That's right - according to data from the US Education Department - 24 percent of elementary schools and 42 percent of high schools had a law enforcement officer on staff - and more than half of the schools that were majority black or latino had an officer to patrol campus. So why are we spending money on cops in schools - instead of on school counselors? Isn't this just proof of how effective the school to prison pipeline is?

The FBI Steps Up the Use of Stings

Naureen Shah, Amnesty International USA's Security & Human Rights Program joins Thom. The FBI has stepped up its use of undercover stings to arrest suspected members of ISIL right here at home. But are these stings actually making us any safer?

Sen. Nina Turner - Moving the ‘Movement' Forward...

Nina Turner (former) Ohio State Senator (D-OH, 25th District)/Bernie Sanders Campaign joins Thom. Elizabeth Warren endorsed Hillary Clinton for president - just hours after Obama did the same. But that's not stopping Bernie Sanders from taking his fight all the way to the convention.

Thom discusses the state of the Democratic race with Bernie surrogate and former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner and the increased use of stings by the FBI in ISIS cases with Amnesty International’s Naureen Shah. Tonight’s Rumble discusses McConnell’s questioning of Trump’s knowledge of the issues, the best way to combat climate change, and how there are thousands of kids in schools that have police officers, but not counselors.

Thom discusses Bernie’s meeting with Obama and whether Elizabeth Warren will be Hillary’s VP with radio host and journalist Katie Halper, Bernie’s big rally in DC with RT Correspondent Manuel Rapalo, and whether Donald Trump believes in climate change with radio host Farron Cousins. In tonight’s Daily Take Thom details how Alexander Hamilton’s trade policies can help Democrats in November.

Chris Hedges, On Contact with Chris Hedges on RT America/TruthDig/Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt joins Thom. Chris Hedges new show “On Contact Premieres Saturday on RT America

Will Hillary Choose Warren For VP?

Katie Halper, The Katie Halper Show on WBAI/Laughing Liberally Comedy Group joins Thom. With Elizabeth Warren set to endorse Hillary Clinton for president tonight - rumors are swirling that the Massachusetts senator could end up as Clinton's running mate. This sounds great in theory - but is it really the best thing for the progressive movement?

Feds Ok Off-Shore Fracking... Are They Nuts?

Tim Donaghy PhD, Greenpeace USA joins Thom. As his time in office winds down - President Obama is starting to focus on legacy issues. One of them is global warming. Of all the presidents in American history - President Obama has arguably done the most to fight global warming. Among other things - he's put in place the Clean Power Plan - helped negotiate the Paris Climate Deal - and after some prodding by activists - rejected the Keystone XL pipeline. These are all good things - which makes his recent decision to expand offshore drilling in the Arctic all the more distressing - especially given the findings in a new report from Greenpeace. That report has found that the Obama administration's offshore drilling plan would "lead to a net increase in global carbon emissions of about 850 million metric tons of carbon dioxide... equivalent to the annual emissions of 3.6 million passenger vehicles over fifty years."

600 Tons Of Nuclear Waste Is Missing!

Kevin Kamps, Beyond Nuclear joins Thom. In Nuke News... it's been five years since the disaster at Fukushima and a TEPCO official announced recently that 600 TONS of highly radioactive nuclear fuel called "corium" from the Fukushima nuclear plant is simply missing. What's scarier? Even if they could find the missing corium - Japan doesn't even have the technology to extract the melted uranium fuel!

If Dems Don't Start Talking Like Trump On Trade, They Will Lose…

People are waiting for months to get tickets for the musical “Hamilton." But if Democrats want to win in November - they better skip the show and brush up on Alexander Hamilton's plan to foster American manufacturing,

The Climate Change Scam Trump Is Running...

Farron Cousins, Ring of Fire/Trial Lawyer Magazine/DeSmog Blog joins Thom. Donald Trump now says that global warming is a hoax - but 7 years ago he wrote a letter to president Obama urging him to take urgent action on climate change. What changed? And what should it tell us about the scam Trump is running on the American people?

What Happens If We Don't Take Trump Seriously?

Liberals in the mainstream media couldn't stop making fun of Donald Trump's awkward teleprompter reading last night. But the joke's going to be on us if liberals don't start taking him seriously.

TPP/TTIP Will Kill Climate Change Progress...

William Waren, Friends of the Earth joins Thom. President Obama has said on mutiple occasions that the Trans-Pacific Partnership - the TPP - is the kind of trade deal we should aim for. According to him - it gives the U.S. the chance to write the rules of global trade with "stronger labor and environmental standards." But is that really the case? More than 450 environmental organizations say "NO"- and on Monday they sent a letter to Congress urging it to reject the TPP and its sister trade deal - the TTIP - specifically because of the threats they pose to the environment.

Rumble: Who’s Paul Ryan kidding w/his poverty program?

Charles Sauer, The Market Institute & Rodell Mollineau, Rokk Solutions & Neil McCabe, Breitbart all join Thom. Paul Ryan introduced his new "anti-poverty" program today - and while it has a fancy new title ("A Better Way") - it's more or less the same austerity plan Republicans like him put forward when they say they're trying to fight poverty. It would cut Social Security - impose onerous new work requirements on a number of different welfare programs - slash funding for Head Start - and even do away with a new law that requires financial advisors to act in their clients best interest. Who’s Paul Ryan kidding? When are Republicans going to admit that the best anti-poverty plan is a strong labor movement coupled with a protectionist trade policy, high taxes on the rich and a regulated financial industry?

Rumble: Will the GOP Block Trump’s Populism?

Charles Sauer, The Market Institute & Rodell Mollineau, Rokk Solutions & Neil McCabe, Breitbart all join Thom. Donald Trump laid out his populist vision for America. But will anti-American-government Republicans in Congress actually let Trump do anything to "make America great again?” So why does Donald Trump or anyone else believe that the Republican corporate shills in Congress will start supporting things like creating American jobs or ending offshoring?
