I agree with your sentiment Jeanie, I feel that when people take a criticism of a faction of a groups actions as evidence of the critics obvious prejudice of the group is nothing more than a dishonest distraction of trying to demean the criticism and critic while offering nothing substantial to counter the criticism. It happens all the time, I think its why there is such support for bomb Islamic people in the name of "The War On Terror" here in America. Its easier to just lump the whole group together and kill them all, then to recognize that there are several factions within the religion and associated countries governed by the Islamic faith.
See the beautiful woman those bizarre Iraqi leaders are going to stone to death- where is Hillary
Clinton?
Her crime?
Adultery – a crime she only confessed to after being lashed 99 times.
She later retracted her confession and asked forgiveness from the court but was denied clemency. After all as a woman her testimony is only worth half that of a man’s under Iranian law. Ashtiani has now been in prison for 5 years awaiting her execution.
As the punishment stands, Ashtiani faces being buried up to her chest, then having stones hurled at her -- stones large enough to cause pain, but not large enough to kill her immediately. As is often the case with stoning sentences, the day of her execution is kept secret until the very last minute adding to the suffering the victim and their families endure.
Ashtiani is not alone. According to Amnesty International, "The majority of those sentenced to death by stoning are women, who suffer disproportionately from such punishment," the human rights group said in a 2008 report.

Jeanie, I won’t criticize you for critiquing Israel . . . I may mention the capitalization of proper nouns in the American dialect of the English Language though . . .
Thank you, Jeanie, for going Lack-o-Discovery.LIE, so we won’t have to . . .
@FoodFascist: Blue Shield of California won’t even let me see my death panel cuz they feel the need to nuke Cedar-Sinai off their rolls cuz the President & CEO needs his bonus!
I hate when people accuse you of being anti-Semitic because you have an ounce of criticism of something the israeli government has done. Like being accused of being anti-American if you have criticism of something a Republican president promotes, such as torture. And it's always said when you have an opinion that supports rights, civil liberties, and humanity. Funny how that works.
Read Kitzmiller v. Dover School Board for some very stupid behavior by creationists. Even the Discovery Institute didn't think the Board's decision to teach "Intellegent design" was what they were hoping for.
What if the story is about a group of folk being embarrassed that they may or may not have hung up a distant relative of my fellow tribe members up on a hunk of wood . . . AND perpetrated upon all of us by a Roman tax-collector who as ticked off about not being able to marry a Jewish gal after converting . . . THEN the tax-collector spliced a death-cult fantasy on the back of the story too pump up tax revenues by having a sexier story in the frame of other Roman religions (Taxes in Rome were donations to the city-state in the name of various deities) . . . .
Creationists demand to see proof of evolution in order to believe it--if species change, then how come we don't see an elephant with a tiger's head (although I'm pretty sure that's not the way evolution works). So I ask, what about angels? After all, people with wings? If that's how they define evolution, then that should be their proof. Now can we teach it in schools?
There is an island off the coast of India that has never been explored by any other than their own tribes. People who have tried were met at the shore with arrows and stones and driven away. Can't find the text right now.
I went to Discovery.org and they clearly hold right-wing views on every topic, including teaching evolution in schools. They go to great lengths to show that they are really only trying to "teach the contraversy" (http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/filesDB-download.php?command=dow...) but much of their thrust is about Intelligent Design and how come it can't be taught, regardless of what the guest just mentioned. It is all about wanting to teach religion in schools.

Any technology, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic.

Ken Wilber, in his book Integral Spirituality states that 70% of the world's population is stuck at the magical/mystic stage of spirituality.
I do not have enough time in my life to worry about creationism and evolutionism. All these Isms are wedge issues in politics.
I do not live near the Gulf of Mexico but I can smell the stench of it from corrupt American corporations, BP, Halliburton, and Trans Ocean companies.

A good place to test our many nuclear research projects would be in the Gulf of Mexico. Let us nuke the whole area!!!
