  • Will Congress approve Obama's plan to police the world?   11 years 40 weeks ago

I Just Can't Believe It !! You mean our disastrous bipartisan congressional relations crisis might actually produce a positive outcome like avoiding any and all military conflict as much as possible?

Talk about irony! Boy, black never looked better on my kettle! Let's mark this day on the calendar so that we can celebrate it next year! The day when an 'obvious' wrong actually produces something righteous for a change! Maybe we can call it, "Ya never know day!"

How about instead of sending an assualt, we send our brave troops over, with ample media, to stand as defense inbetween the victims and the oppressors. Maybe even offer displacement to victims who would rather relocate than endure these hardships.

This way we could get mountains of political weapons against Bashaar especially if huge numbers of people are desperate to get out as soon as possible.

Quote Palindromedary:You see, while most of the participants in the exercise believe it is just an exercise and perform their roles in the "exercise"...higher ups could be covertly steering it to be the real thing..all they have to do is pull a few strings..have some covert "inside men" to make it happen for real. Then the politicians can claim Al Qaida did it. Funny how Al Qaida seems to be working for our covert intelligence agencies...just look at what they have done in Syria recently.

Palindromedary ~ Thank for that heads up. The more the public are aware of such a potential threat the greater the discouragement of allowing it to happen. After all, these terrorist attacks and attacks on the constitution are for profit only. There comes a time when you have to accept your losses and move on to better and brighter things. Once the cost becomes greater than the potential profit any wise businessman will cut and run.

To help steer a terrorist attack during an exercise is relatively easy and inexpensive for someone in power--especially involving key members of the "intelligence" community. However, given the state of mind of the current populace such an attack would demand high public scrutiny. There would be far greater collection of evidence by individuals as well as resistance to the destruction of evidence. People would pay closer attention and be far more skeptical. A popular cry out for justice would have to be heard and that alone could cost the guilty power brokers everything they have. I guess it would boil down to just how much these power boys like to gamble. A very sobering and scary thought indeed.

Meanwhile I will look for that movie, "Closed circuit." Looks like foreshadowing of doom worthy of checking out. Thanks again!

  • Will Congress approve Obama's plan to police the world?   11 years 40 weeks ago

The pride of the Republicans, Reagan did not seek congressional approval when he attacked any country, the Republican, conservative, tea party wants Pres. Obama to seek Congress’s approval. That’s a double standard, that is the new Republican, Conservative, Tea party way. And that is not democracy.

We should not be the world’s police department or its big brother. Why should this country spend the excessive amounts of money on military hardware such as, missiles, super high-tech jet fighters, more M1 tanks then we need, instead of providing a national health insurance for all, a program that will provide adequate food for the hungry who can’t afford it, have the government, is the employer of last resort, and provide more funds for public schools and higher education through federal funds to invest in this nations future, But most definitely we should not raise funds to push our military weight and force democracy on a nation with a point of a gun! Greatest weapon a nation or a group of people, is the freedom to express themselves through speech, the press, the right of peaceably to assemble, and partition the government for redress of grievances, that is how democracies work. Democracy will grow in a nation who seeks it, like at the start of our great nation, as I said before it will be through freedom of speech, the press, and the ability and freedom to assemble the protest against their government, but not forced upon the people, all that will do will prevent it.

The question is, can we effectively prevent Bashar Hafez al-Assad the President of Syria from using weapons of mass destruction being used on his own people? But on the other hand who will protect the innocent, the children and the elderly, are the innocent ones. I read a report where Hafez al-Assad is moving such WMD into civilian populated areas, how much collateral damage will there be, the elderly, the children, are the innocent ones. So let’s do not kill any more of the innocent ones. So my answer is no, we do not need any military force to strike at the heart of Bashar Hafez al-Assad the President of Syria.

There's a new movie in the theaters, that I watched just today, called "Closed Circuit". I thought it was a very good movie. If you watch the movie, keep in mind the so-called terrorist attack on the London subway (aka: The Tube..aka: The Underground) bombing back in 2005. The movie isn't about that bombing but another one that has only happened in the movie...but the message could very well refer back to the 2005 bombing. Because, like on 9/11 in the US, our government was undergoing an exercise with the scenario of terrorists hijacking and crashing the airliners into tall buildings...but in London, in 2005, on the very day of that bombing...the British government was also having exercises including the scenario of bombing the subway. By the way, Julia Stiles has a cameo appearance as a reporter in this movie.

I had read that the US government plans to have yet another big exercise starting in 2014 that includes a massive terrorist attack...this time using nukes or chemicals, or biological warfare agents. Might be a good idea to just stay home and wear your CBW gas masks during 2014. The thing is that lots of Americans are starting to see through the fascism and lies of the American government and it could be that they will do another false flag operation to scare people back into waving their little flags and hating Muslims again.

    Oh yes, here it is:

    Quote cryptome:Scenario:
A new homegrown terror group, Al Qaeda in North America (AQINA), purchases a small amount of radiological/fissile material from a foreign country. Their goal is to develop two dirty bombs, which would then be transported into the U.S. through an East Coast port and a southern border point of entry. Due to a radiological leak, one of the devices is detected. AQINA obtains explosive materials from a domestic agricultural/chemical supply company and transports the materials through a known carrier, such as FedEx or UPS (possible insider threat component) toward their intended target, but are interdicted before detonation.

    Targets:
Financial Centers in Greenwich, CT and Charlotte, NC

    Alternative Targets:
    Rail Transportation Hubs
    Shopping Centers

There is more detail in the document at cryptome as to the specific locations and such.

DAnneMarc: I got a kick out of your last paragraph...funny! I got to admit that a lot of this stuff is way over my head...but, I'm not into it like you are. The one thing I know is that a lot of people who profess to be good Christians seem to be worshipping the golden bull (well, I guess it is really made with bronze). I refer to the bull bronze statue on Wall Street. Moses would be pi$$ed and, I suppose, so would Jesus!!

Quote Palindromedary:DAnneMarc: Thank you for that information. And it does look like those quotes says that the 7 heads were seven mountains and that the 10 horns are 10 kings or kingdoms but I didn't read into it any more than that. Yes, I know that Rome was built on 7 hills but I think it a stretch to think of them as mountains. But, of course, it does prove that they weren't talking about actual 7 headed monsters...like dragons or anything. They were obviously referring to something obliquely...symbolically.

Palindromedary ~ There are several classic ways to interpret this metaphor. It isn't as broad as the Prophecies of Nostradamus; but, it is applicable to many scenarios depending on your perspective, agenda, and knowledge. Basically depending on your agenda, the more knowledgeable you are, the more creatively you can interpret the Prophecy.

One potential interpretation says that the prophecy was already fulfilled when ancient Rome fell. Another says that the prophecy was fulfilled during the lifetime of the apostles. The modern interpretation is that the prophecy is being fulfilled right now. Of course, if it wasn't for President Ronald Wilson (666) Reagan, NATO, and recent history, I would probably discount the entire significance of the story. Now, I'm not so sure.

The interpretation that makes the most sense to me follows the thinking of the Prophecy of Daniel. If you look at the seven headed monster the same way Daniel looked at the Golden headed statue you have to see the seven kings first and foremost as the seven major world kingdoms in the history of mankind. "Five are fallen, one is." The world kingdom that existed at the time of the writing was The Roman Empire. "The eighth is one of the seven and must continue a short while." The eight kingdom is the rebirth of The Roman Empire. Essentially , The USA. Fortunately, this kingdom will continue a "short while" and go into perdition. That is probably the best news that The Book of Revelations has to offer in this interpretation.

This in one way to look at the seven heads. Since the prophecy also says they are "seven mountains" that are ridden by a "scarlet colored harlot who is decked out in precious gems" you can also interpret the seven heads as the Roman Catholic Church. Church and state aren't always separate; and, the greatest potential for tyranny is when they aren't separate. The prophecy tends to suggest that the Church is guiding, and profiting, from the Beast.

The ten horns are the ten kingdoms that exist at the same time as the eighth kingdom. The are given power "one hour" with the Beast. "They have one mind." The big question is how long is a metaphorical "Biblical" hour. There are two potential answers to that question that I know of. Elsewhere in the Bible it states quite clearly that 1 day with the Lord is 1000 years with man. If we do some math that means that 1 hour with the Lord should equal about 41.67 years with man. However, there is the problem in the new testament where Jesus is noted saying that, "Are there not twelve hours in the day?" With this perspective considered in the calculation then we come to 1 hour being about 83 years in the time of man.

Therefore depending on the date of enactment of this kingdom we can add 83 years to it to determine when it will come to an end. If the kingdom began in 1945, at the end of WWII, then it will end in 2028. If it began after the assassination of JFK in 1963, then it will end in 2046." Of course there are other potential beginnings for the eighth kingdom. The key into figuring out the end date is knowing the beginning date. To that ends, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah, I know, bad news. The 24 hour day seems like a much better interpretation. Only 41.67 years to deal with. However, If one looks at history there are few dates that you can come up with to begin the short count. Both the dates above would indicate that the kingdom has already ended; and, we all know that isn't true. Therefore, the 83 year count is the only logical one to pursue.

Of course, there is alway the option to discount The Book of Revelations as the hallucinogenic concoction of an old man living in a dark cave with nothing other than magic mushrooms and Holy batcrap to feed on. Bottom line, it is what it is. You be the judge.

Glen Greenwald was briefed by Edward Snowden when Snowden was still in Hong Kong and received thousands of documents on NSA spying. Some of those documents show that the NSA was spying on the Presidents of Brazil and Mexico and their advisors.

Quote cryptome:....the program enables finding, whenever you want, a needle in a haystack.

The haystack, in this case, is the immense volume of information that U.S. intelligence has access to every day, spying phone networks, internet servers, e-mail and social networks. The needle is who they choose.

In the document, dated June 2012, there are two targets: the president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, then candidate leading in the polls for the presidency, and the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff.

It works like this: the selected targets are monitored by phone numbers, emails and IP, the computer identification. The same for the interlocutors chosen in the case, advisors. What they call 'leap', is all communication between the targets and the assessors

Edward Snowden: "the tactics of the U.S. government since September 11 is to say that everything is justified by terrorism. Scaring people to accept these measures as necessary. But most of the spying they do does not have anything to do with national security, it is to obtain an unfair advantage over other nations in their industrial and commerce economic agreements. "

"Mainway", which collects the large volume of information passing through networks.
"Dishfire" which searches for certain keywords.

What they call "seeds" are the email addresses and phone numbers monitored. One of the programs used by the NSA is called "DNI selectors", which according to another document leaked by Snowden, capture everything the user does on the internet, including the content of e-mails and websites visited.

  • IRS being sued for ignoring tax-exempt churches' political activities   11 years 40 weeks ago

My church is completely supported by voluntary contributions through which we do many charitable activities, support music education (choirs), food pantries, etc. In doing so, we neither make a profit nor advocate for political candidates. Sermons generally advocate for the poor, peace and treating all people as we would wish to be treated. I like to think the world is a somewhat better place for our church's efforts. Were our facility taxed at the usual per square foot rate by city, county and school entities, (taxes already payed by all our members individually) we would have to close our doors and discontinue our programs. I strongly support separation of church and state because both are better as a consequence, I think. Yes, the IRS is a necessary part of maintaining that separation when they distinguish where politicking replaces general ethical suasion. Perhaps we should attend to fabulously profitable corporations which pay no taxes before we go for the scraps from nonprofits?

Whether or not you agree that the rich individuals in the United States should pay more taxes, the truth is that the Internal Revenue Service has allowed a number of tax code loopholes. Through these loopholes, the resourceful can save money by exercising tax exemptions. Because tax rate really declines when annual income exceeds $1.5 million, there's definitely something at work. It's how the rich avoid taxes. Shouldn't you get a piece of the tax break action? You can pay for your taxes this year with an installment loan.

DAnneMarc: I understand that people like Nostradamus had to be very esoteric and obscure because of the likelyhood of someone, back then, not appreciating freedom of speech. One was likely to be burned to a stake for saying something someone didn't like! While we all seem to be having a good old time "freely" speaking (relatively "freely" speaking that is) I wonder just how long that will last.

That chauffeured trip across the Hister (I mean Danube) was actually a business trip...thank goodness those are over. It was nice to see all those places though. I wish I could have seen more of Vienna and Bratislavia, though. Piestani was a nice quaint little town that had a bridge across the river to a very famous hot springs spa where, I believe it was said that Napoleon even fancied. The entrance to the bridge (one side is a covered) on the Piestani side has a bronze statue of a man breaking his crutch in to (indicating that the spas cure people of their maladies). On the other side of the bridge there was the Thermia Palace hotel and a number of other spa buildings. I walked all around that place. Peacocks, Koi. Kids were jumping off the bridge into the river...an accordion player was playing some melodic Slovakian tunes on the bridge. Lots of Russians frequent the place on holiday to cure their ailments and they seemed to favor the hotel across the street from mine. There was a nice fountain with a foot bridge across it in the street just below my hotel. Very scenic place!

But, they wouldn't even accept my $US at their banks..and my bank cards wouldn't work at their ATMs because they would not accept any more than a 4 digit password...well I guess if they wouldn't even accept my bank card inside at the tellers they weren't going to at the ATMs either....good thing I had some Euros and Slovak Koruna with me. I was only there for a couple of weeks in the summer time. Very nice place! Peaceful...relaxing!

    Oh, and they don't encourage tips at the restaurants..the waiter educated me....it's not necessary...like in Japan. I left a tip once in a Tokyo restaurant and the waitress came running down the sidewalk after me to return the money I left on the table as a tip. And then, some time after I returned to the states, I watched the movie "Hostel" and thought Whoa! I'm glad I didn't watch that 2005 movie before I went in 2007. ;-}

Here's a famous quote from one of his articles...

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902–1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."

  • We’re All Being Poisoned by Deregulated Capitalism   11 years 40 weeks ago

No, things are more extreme than that. Since the 1980s, and especially since Clinton, the middle class has been pitted against the poor. Aside from the sheer ugliness of our anti-poor agenda, we've watched the middle class embrace policies against the poor that actually work to help phase out the middle class. I think the general public has been so persistently subjected to anti-poor propaganda that they can no longer regard them as being legitimate human beings at all. Today's "progressives" wave the banner for the bourgeoisie, the middle class, while ignoring the fact that our policies against the poor directly violate international human rights standards. Indeed, we really don't consider the poor to be qualified for human rights protections at all, and at the least, this is a moral tragedy. Beyond that, it is a clear statement even by the left, that our hyper-capitalist system works so well that there "is no excuse" (as it states in Clinton's welfare "reform" policies) for being jobless. Of course, pitting the poor and middle class against each other serves powerfully to protect the interests of the very rich.

Palindromedary ~ Personally I think the idea that Hitler would use Nostradamus to promote himself was brilliant. It was disingenuous of him to change his real name to do so. Oh well, it worked. He needed all the help he could get and he pulled it off. Too bad he was a jerk. Why couldn't some nice guy pull off the same stunt? Why is it always the jerks?

  • The flame for justice remains...   11 years 40 weeks ago

Palindromedary ~ Nostradamus? Now you're talking my language. Actually language is part of the problem when trying to interpret Nostradamus. You see, not only did he speak French; but, he used other languages including ancient Latin to further cloud his quatrains in "oblique" mystery. (And, to further leave the interpretation in the eye of the beholder.)

For instance, the quatrain you mentioned in its original language is:

    From the prophecies of Nostradamus

    Quote Nostradamus:C2Q24

    Bestes farouches de faim fleuues tranner;

Plus part du champ encontre Hister sera,

En cage de fer le grand fera treisner,

Quand rien enfant de Germain obseruera.

    Another potential translation is:
Quote Translation:Beasts ferocious from hunger will swim across rivers:The greater part of the region will be against the Hister, the great one will cause it to be dragged in an iron cage, when the German child will observe nothing.
Heil Danube! Can anyone think of another way to translate and change the meaning. Language is so much fun! Here you have Hister, a disobedient German child, a dragged iron cage and a conflict near rivers. If the conflict is war and the iron cage is tanks and Germany is involved you have WWII. These dots connect themselves. Hister is just the icing on the cake of this prophecy. However, it probably can have many other interpretations as well like you said. Use a little imagination. Actually, I've read several different interpretive works on Nostradamus and no two translate the quatrains the same way. Go figure! Very frustrating! So you were chauffeured across the Danube, huh? Nice. I wish I could be chauffeured some time. I'd even be happy in a canoe ride across a pond.

  • The flame for justice remains...   11 years 40 weeks ago

And in fact, Nostradamus was actually referring to the Danube river when he mentioned Hister.

    Quote wikipedia:
Beasts wild with hunger shall cross the rivers:
Most of the fighting shall be close by the Hister [Danube],
It shall result in the great one being dragged in an iron cage,
While the German shall be watching over the infant Rhine.

This is often interpreted to be a prediction of the war against Adolf Hitler's Nazi state in the twentieth century. However, none of the reputable sources listed support this view. In fact all of them point out that the name 'Hister' (as Nostradamus himself explains in his Almanac for 1554[2]) in fact refers in his writings to the Danube, being mentioned (as elsewhere[3]) alongside 'R[h]in' (Rhine) -- two rivers that formed the north-eastern frontier of the ancient Roman Empire.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hister

I was actually chauffeured across the Danube about 6 years ago when I traveled from Vienna airport to Bratislava then on to Piestany, Slovakia. So I guess you might say I crossed Hister.

50 years ago....that brings back a chronology memory burnt into my brain.....the year 1826.....the year that Thomas and John passed away.......exactly 50 years after the DECLARATION.

I'm not sure why I bring that up, other than the spirit of 76 in me, and of course the 50 year anniversary time span of of Martin's everlasting speech.

But I will say that I've been on this blog for a while and have paid pretty close attention to the like minded individuals posting their hearts and soul. The one dominant theme I've picked up on is the call for a third party takeover on the Democratic side. Even Pap has mentioned it....and I don't disagree in principle, but I do disagree in method.

So here goes....my short rant......First of all I'm not as daft as a couple of the obsessive bloggers believe me to be. I do get it, in fact I think, probably even more than they.....that the majority of democrats are corporate controlled....no kidding...duhhhhh!

Trust me , given the corpse media manipulation and voter brain apathy, there is no way in hell a progressive third party will overcome the Republicans at the polls. Thus the vote would be fractured in favor of total power to the billionaires, which will utimately will lead to violent revolution....or worse violent submission.

What's my point?.....Follow the billionaire Teabagger strategy.....infiltrate and takeover the Democratic party. You didn't see the Teabaggers do a third party thing and they won't....Wake up my friends before we decide to descend into a dark place that 99.9% of us will regret. This from a Socialist!

    Peace Out!

By the way, did you know that Adolf Hitler was not his real, original name? Alois Schicklegruber, Hitler's father, was born out of wedlock to his mother Marie Anna Schicklegruber who later married Johann Georg Heidler. Hitler's father eventually took his stepfather's last name. And the name Heidler was very close to the Name Hitler. Adolf eventually took the name of Hitler...maybe, perhaps, because Adolf Hitler (Heidler)..always up on the latest popular Nostradamus lore...may have thought it may help in his own self fulfilling prophecy. Heidler, Hister, Hitler? Why not? So maybe Nostradamus was not really so psychic after all. You know that those Nazis heads were all full of images of Valhalla and Nibelungun of old Germanic and Norse mythology. I do love a little Wagner in the morning! Ah, the horror!

    Quote article:
Though the idea may seem preposterous to some, the question seems to stem from the remote possibility that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Hitler's father, Alois, was registered as an illegitimate child with no father when born in 1837 and to this day Hitler's paternal grandfather is unknown. Alois' mother, Maria Schicklgruber, is known to have worked in the home of a wealthy Jew, so there is some chance, however small, that a son in that household got Hitler's grandmother pregnant.

Heil Schickelgruber! Just doesn't have the ring sound of dictator does it.

All of that stuff sounds like Nostradamus and although there were some things that he got lucky on...like the name in one of his quatrains was Hister...granted a very close similarity to Hitler...I wouldn't take very seriously any of that stuff. Even the so-called seers and palm reader charlatans who bilk money out of rich old ladies today use the same kind of non-sense banter...that some people get fooled into thinking they are saying something esoterically cogent.

I ran across a youtube video of this person who was absolutely sure that Google Earth was trying to hide some deep space object which he believe was the planet Niburu because that section of the star field was completely blank...completely black...a perfect rectangular section. I checked it out...and sure enough...a perfect rectangular section of complete blackness. That person further said that he went to the Astronomical Society website and looked at the exact coordinates and saw a bright dominant object in their deep sky photos. Yup, that proved it...Google Earth was hiding the planet Niburu. They'll invade in the morning! ;-} Or, maybe I'm getting that mixed up with the planet Obama invading Syria?

2012 came and went and no end of the world as per the people who believed that the end of the Aztec calender foretold of it. And, believe it or not, these people have now extended their non-sense...I think the new end of the world is supposed to be sometime this month of September. Then, they'll find some other ridiculous story to keep their nonsense going even longer.

Palindromedary ~ Sorry, I might have messed it up a bit. Here is the interpretation in it's entirety from Revelations:

    The Holy Bible

Quote The Book of Revelations--Chapter 17:7 ¶And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 ¶These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

The seven heads are seven mountains; or, The Roman Catholic Church (ie. Vatican City, Rome. "The city of seven mountains.") The 10 horns are the 10 kings, or kingdoms. "The woman, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF WHORES, Is Iraq (ie Babylon) .Oil itself is the cup the whore is holding that is full of abominations. With this explanation the whole metaphor makes much more sense. The best interpretation I have is that The Beast represents the power of fossil fuel. Also the evil of fossil fuel. It is an entity which was, is not, and will come again. What better literal definition for a fossil can you think of?
