Trickle down economics or C4? How about wag the dog politics based on yet more false flags? As the world's failed capitalist useful idiots that were once elected as leaders are being ousted for more left-leaning ones...and setting a very good example for the rest of the world...especially the US...what else but a good psy-ops scare of yet another round of "terrorism". Anyone yet sense that all of the recent scare stories that the "Goebels" news services are pelting us with is a timely machination to keep us afraid...very afraid? Is Al Qaida really a branch of the CIA? Scare stories of losing our 401k or stock valuations might work on some people but others have wisely cashed in their 401ks or sold their stocks and may not be as malleable. Their message, of course, is to keep their smoke-and-mirrors, shuffle-the-pea delusion system going just a little bit longer so that those who are squeezing the believers can squeeze even harder...."good to the last drop". Bow down before your overlords people, they have proven themselves very masterful at deceit and delusion. The Koch-roaches have won. What's that? Revolution is in the wind? Maybe there is hope yet. Break out the Guillotines boys we gonna have a party!
Wealth Creators!

Been mulling this over for awhile, think I have a response to the bogus "job creators" meme. This is just so upside down, like "trickle down", but coming from the right, has been quickly embraced in the media. There is no data to support the monied class as "job creators" - it is bogus on its face.
A possible response is to embrace the notion of "wealth creators" - individuals, workers, entrepeneurs, small businesses, even organized labor, who produce the goods and services that GROW the economy and create real wealth through production and increased demand. This shifts the discussion from scarcity to abundance, much the same a Occupy has shifted the focus from deficits/austerity to growth/opportunity. It also calls BS on the falacy of the wealthiest people being "job creators". Plenty of jobs are created when we focus on the wealth creators.

Hard for me to pick either yes or no, but I think it'll be a huge standoff in the House if not the Senate. With wars winding down, we need to scale back on military spending in general and private military forces in particular. Closing a lot of bases could help tremendously. Time to bring the money home and work on our infrastructure so we have something left in this country to defend, besides the obvious, our people.

Merkel says economic growth cannot be based on government, "debt,"..... what she fails to say or understand is that economic growth can be stimulated by government spending, "investing," in job creation. This in turn will reduce government debt. I suggest she give Paul Krugman a call or crack a history book!
The French and Greek people just voted to end, "The Merkozy Austerity Plan," a plan designed to cover up the global bankster crimewave by shifting blame and responsibility to hard working people. I see no reason for the rest of Europe not to follow, not to mention, "We The People," here in the US come Nov. Hey Tea Party, the Kochs don't need your damn help, vote progressive and help yourselves instead!
No surprise that our corp media is freaking out about the elections. I keep hearing how the markets will tumble and there goes your 401k etc. Of course the word SOCIALISM is tied in to all of this bull. I don't recall a media freakout when the commodity futures modernization act was passed or when glass-steagall was repealed...the deregulation that spawned much of this criminal action to begin with. How about a media reaction to the ongoing trickle down lie...hand out more tax cuts to the Romneys we can always layoff a few more teachers and cops......you know, those union people!
Re. minorities antigay.
One factor I haven't heard mentioned as to why blacks and hispanics tend more to be anti-gay, is socio-economic status. A higher percentage of blacks and minorities are at the lower end of the socio-economic ladder, or grew up in households at the lower end; and that probably accounts for some of the difference. I'm certain that the percentage of whites who are anti-gay is higher among whites at the lower end of the socio-economic ladder than it is at the upper end. I would also guess that a higher percentage of college-educated people are more tolerant of gays. BTW, I think for some people, it is not so much bigotry, intolerance, phobia, etc.; but more discomfort and ignorance.
This is what we need in the US. Riots, protests, organized units with a purpose and we need strong people in our views to, as Thom says, infiltrate our government. Where can I move that I can actually afford to finish college?
Sometimes it seems that voting leads to no better result. However, I think that Scott Walker proves this wrong. Each local Madison, WI election is now on my schedule. I will be out to vote! There is an election tomorrow! I also think its important to discuss student loans with regards to the limits imposed (years to receive pell & amount received for a bachelor's) as some students were young and dumb but need to go back and get a real bachelor's degree with federal aid, get into a real career, and contribute back into the commons! (Can you tell this is my situation up a creek with no paddle, lol)

I am an American Mexican (100% American Nationality - not a Mexican/American hybrid, and 100% Mexican ethnicity - 2 Mexican parents). I have also been a Catholic all my life. The vast majority of family, friends, and acquaintances I know, in and out of the church, are NOT anti-gay. The people I have encountered that have an anti-gay view have this view because of plain ol' bigotry. It is not relevant to their ethnicity or religion. Also, I have never heard any anti-gay commentary or opinions in church. I have never met a family of Mexicans that did not have a gay relative. I have never been to a Catholic church that did not have a gay parishioner that was active and involved in the church.
The Catholic organizations or people you hear commenting about sexual preference, politics, blasphemous movies, etc. are organizations of Catholic people, bishops, etc. expressing their organization's personal views. They are not representatives of the official Catholic Church. No different than an anti-gay organization of Democrats. Right or wrong, the official Catholic Church usually has a policy of having "no comment".
I have noticed while traveling, reading, etc. that there is a difference between East Coast and West Coast Catholic churches. East Coast has more Conservative points of views on Social issues, and West Coast believes you love and welcome all.
What made the caller from Gainesville sound fishy to me was that he said Obama hasn't done anything progressive as President.

Terranophobically ugly? I couldn't find anything like that. I thought it might be "pteranophobically", like pteranodon, but the etymology doesn't work (anodon = toothless, and you can't take the "not" without the "tooth"). There is a "keraunophobia", meaning fear of thunder, but I don't think that's what Thom said. So I'm stumped again.
I wonder if I should move to Quebec, we seem to accept a lot of austerity here in western Canada.In Quebec, they have been rioting for the last 3 mos straight.The Fiberal govt has been raising tuition for many years in BC and there's just a little protest, but when the Fiberals do it in Quebec, where rates are lowest in the nation, there's a storm of angry sustained massive protests.
Austerity doesn't work, but just last the last Great Depression they're going to starve us trying to force it on us.They will beat the dead horse of austerity until they are tired.
Oligarchy isn't (strictly speaking) rule by the wealthy; that would be plutocracy. I'm sure there tends to be a huge overlap though.

Let's frack the Rockies. We don't need that friggin natural dam trapping all the smog in California and think of the billions of barrels of oil we can wring out of that mountain range.
The Farther Future: and, now, we have The Greater Plains, where nothing grows, and buffalo starve, and Denver's a ghost town a mile high. Oh, I forgot to mention, raveging winds, unstoppable erosion on a gargantuan scale, and we have no 5-state aquifer to helps us recover from the worst and prolonged sandstorm in planetary history.
NOTE: The last prolonged sandstorm in the 20's almost did us in. Had we left recovery to mother nature, it would have taken the west 100 geologic years to recover. Instead, we encouraged contour plowing, breaker seeding (treelines for erosion deterrents), and we emptied our 5-state aquifer to irrigate the western plains back to green health!
