iamfreespirited. I agree with you that we do need to have more open minds to accept everyone no matter what their race, religion, body size or shape, gender, sexual orientation, home, or lack there of, the amount of money in ones pocket, language one speaks or doesn't speak, etc.
There is a saying, "opposites attract." Maybe it is true but these opposites are ending a 25 year marriage.

Ronsonntag- The opiate of the masses came from the British monarchy forcing the opium trade into China. Few opium addicts will find religion a substitute. But perhaps World Leaders are benefiting from the opium trade while hiding behind their poorly educated subjects who must fight deliberately induced religious or idealogical wars.
Obviously, there is too much flying going on anyway. We all ought to stay home, unless a tornado, fire, earthquake, volcanic eruption, mudslide or flood is headed our way.

When we want or wish harm or injury to a human being, we are breaking the Fifth Commandment. We are committing a mortal sin that damns the human soul. Maybe that is why I keep saying, "The Anti-Christ is a damned nation."
In college I had two or three classes in Anthropology. It was probably three classes - Introduction to Anthropology, Physical Anthropology, and Cultural Anthropology. Anthropology is a fascinating discipline to study. We brought from Europe diseases, the lust for killing God’s children, our morality or immorality, and all that was rotten in Europe. Europeans are an evil and sinful breed.
Muslims are in fear of their fundies killing them too.. And then there is the "unjust" war that the USA started, which really made muslims hate America a hundredfold from the small group of fundies we had before 911.. Immediately after 911, actually, you ihad your wish (since the muslim world was on our side.. except for a few crazy fundies).. After Bush invaded the muslim world, instead of going after the terrorists like he should have, this generated hatred for America (just like Bin Laden wanted)..

It's so disappointing that the dems are on the same bandwagon of destroying our public education system as the repubs. The only difference is that the repubs are brazenly outspoken about it once they are elected and the dems are doing it under the covers.

Remember the relentlessly overplayed TV commercial during the last administration bragging that Chevy broke all the rules and now they're rewriting them. Criminals always brag about their "kill".
Amen DRichards! Chris Hedges should be on Atleast once a month! My father (a Presbyterian Minister) say's that Hedges is a once-in-a-generation Prophet.
Also, do we have Habeas corpus again? If so, why is Bradley Manning still being held without trial?
It's time for a majority civil rights paradigm shift toward equality, justice and freedom for ALL humans. Now we must end the era of our society set up under the errant thought that there are some who are more deserving of the earth's resources than others. We can create a world which is not based upon the societal casting created from the original thought of "specialness" (superiority), which is the most aggregious error of thought according to the Course In Miracles. We must open our conscious minds to a wider, higher, deeper awareness to save our earth/ourselves.

People may say bin Laden did not deserve a trial because of the atrocity that happened on 9-11. Yet, we did have trials for the Nazis who killed the Jews.
9-11 has changed us a country, we now have warrantless wiretapping, the Department of Homeland Security, TSA Strip searches, three wars, Guantanamo, torture and expanded powers granted to the president. Are we in danger of loosing the values that set us apart? Where does it all end?

Regulations are Laws. Deregulation means the doing away with law. In essence, we are living in a lawless society for the corporations.
Why not deregulate society? Is it because we have a dual justice system? Why do the common folk believe the lie that the elite are morally superior to the lower classes? It seems to me that people are people, regardless of class. If anything, power corrupts...
Thom, I think you should take the next opportunity to require a guest to explain what they mean when they say there are "layers of regulations" on business. It's one of those subtle exaggerations that cons manage to slip in to the debate, and it needs to be addressed.
Yes but many more Muslims must speak out and condemn Bin laden and his evil followers . I have not seen that . Where are their voices ? 9 1/ 2 years later..
This entire issue is a circus. Not showing the pictures and dumping the body sounds more like a mob operation than a military operation. The truth will eventually out. It feeds into a new bad mouth Pakistan program. India,Israel,U.S. against Pakistan,China etc
What possible difference could it make to the issue at hand, where and how they were educated. How would the pilot know whether they were educated in public or private schools?
The issue is the pilot made a decision that he would not fly with them on the plane based entirely on the fact they were Muslim holy men dressed in their traditional clothing. Had they been Catholic Priests would he have made the same decision?
