If people do NOT have jobs, they have no money, no home, they cannot buy anything. If they cannot buy anything, business' will fail. If businesses fail, it will cause economic chaos.
This is Keynesian Economics in Reverse - who will get to the BOTTOM first!!!
I think it is time that the American People take their country back! And this to Tea Party fanatics - if the American economy goes bust, you will also be part of it. No one will be safe. It is time to wake up and deal with reality here - the Billionaires are not your supporters, and they simply do NOT CARE about you; in fact they are just using you! When the economy is driven to the ground, those with the wealth will flee to Saudi Arabia and other monarchal countries of the world. You may be an ardent Tea Bagger now, but you will also be part of the wreckage when all this hits the rocks, and so will your family and their families.
There is a concerted movement by the neo-conservatives and their Plutocratic supporters in this country to destroy the Democratic Party and Democratic institutions and make it a one party rule – Oligarchy! That is their stated goal! And they are using every means possible to make that happen. I saw at least 5-6 LIES being stated on FOX Noise today, about riots and violence! Sick!

Blinded, lacking ability! Lacking the ability to think and reason. So,Walker takes the bully road! "Hard head? This seems to be a trend across America. Have you notice the lacking ability in most of our leaders today? The average person, seems to know much more than most leaders today. And that showing up more and more. There are always solutions and solutions involve thinking and working together.
The issue isn't just about denying collective bargaining rights to public employees. There is a host of other worthwhile programs scheduled to be cut drastically. BadgerCare, for one -- which provides free and inexpensive health insurance coverage for underemployed and unemployed workers and families, truly a lifeline in these awful economic times.
I and others have checked into recalling Governor Walker, and according to state statute It cannot be done during his first year in office. This also applies to freshman representatives and senators, including my first-term Republican tea bagger senator. BUT we are starting to look at alternatives.
For out-of-towners coming for the rally tomorrow, I encourage you to spend one more day in our fair state to attend the annual Wisconsin Progressive Grassroots Festival on Saturday. It will be held in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, at Wisconsin Heights High School, located on US Hwy 14 between Black Earth and Mazomanie -- just a few miles up the road from Madison. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. They have a web site, and they are on Facebook. One of the speakers will be Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. Mike was the most inspired and inspiring speaker at last fall's Fighting Bob Fest in Baraboo. Thom Hartmann was also a terrific speaker at FBF last fall. And mark your calendars, too, for Fighting Bob Fest in Madison on Sept. 17. So you can be energized and inspired to take back our government.
The CEOs will not be happy until our labor force in America has been brought to it's knees and is as cheap as third world labor. The CEO owned GOP politicians keep helping the rich to reach that goal.
It's a bit metaphysical perhaps that teachers become our warriors as the nation deals with wars.
I think the deeper question is: "Why is this governor (and all government, for that matter) out and out LYING to it's people about these phony, trumped up "budget deficits"? If you go to any city public library, and ask them to see that city's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, you will see the REAL budget numbers, and also see that every city, state, and federal budget is a hoax!
Wisconsin takes in billions oupn billions of revenue from investments made in PRIVATE CORPORATIONS both in WI, as well as collective governmental investments! The state of WI literally has controlling interest in most of the large private corporations in the state, all from using their citizen's tax dollars! They are running a scam, just like Madeoff, just not getting thrown in jail! Don't believe me?

I'm actually wondering if the "Big Picture" is this.
First give huge tax breaks(to the rich) on the Federal level.
Then the Feds give less to the States.
The States then cut out any program which doesn't aid business.
Now attack the middle class, first with public employees.
next allow the minimum wage to become non-existant, thus reducing the "cost" to private business.
Result= huge profits for business! without the hassle of Union interference, and a workforce with no
voice!
I think that's the Big Picture
Many of us Wisconsinites did not vote for Walker for our Governor. We do NOT deserve what he is doing. We have a real problem here.
Senator Fitzgerald, the Republican head of our State Senate and his brother, Republican Rep. Fitzgerald, head of the House of Representatives agreed today to call the head of the Wisconsin State Patrol, another Fitzgerald (who happens to be their father) to leave the state highways which are currently fogged in with state wide heavy fog to run around and collect up Democrat legislators to force them to vote on the union busting bill he wrote today. Nepotism at the highest level in Wisconsin right now. This sounds like the 'good ole boys' from the 40's or 50's in backward states in our country; not progressive Wisconsin.
This governor does not understand his job is to govern the state, not legislate. He obviously ran for the wrong office. He is the one writing the laws and his Rep. cronies are in lock step with him to destroy Wisconsin.
Thom, please cover this as it's a huge issue today and is spreading across the nation as we speak.

This is getting a lot of coverage. I am a Wisconsin resident and do not like what I see happening in the state. I like the marches not the tea bag solution to things. A very good article about the truth of the Walker lie can be found at www.fightingbob.com written by Gary Sherman. Explains a lot and the state is not in that bad a shape, well not until Walker gets through with it.
I am so proud of the people of Wisconsin right now!
I just heard the Democrats in Wisconsin are not showing up, thereby preventing a quorum, so they can't vote (for now) on taking away the public employees' right to have a union. This maneuver didn't work in Texas when the Republicans redistricted in the middle of the decade, but it's a nice gesture.
The Republicans always have to play dirty, Thats what they do, the Democrats have to state the facts, over and over and over untill people get it. There is no disputing the facts but they need to be repeated and the Mainstream media must be shamed into doing their jobs. They need to publicize the facts about what the republicans are doing, what they have done and what they are going to do, Where are the Democratic leaders? , where are the labor leaders from all unions, they all need to be there and President Obame has to come out stronger on all these issues. The national news media ignores important issues untill Fox gets there and spins it, now the damage is done.

There will be tsunami depression in the United States of Mortal Sin. The reason for this tsunami depression is that the fascist-Nazi American corporations and the fascist-Nazi American rich in our caste system will never permit an increase in taxes to lower our deficits. They will never permit the return of American jobs to the Fatherland. With ninety percent of Americans bankrupt the deficit problem will no longer be a problem. Enslavement and homeless Americans will slowly die off and a new set of immigrants will enter the United States of Mortal Sin and these new immigrants will work for less than minimum wages. American dictatorial powers will be in the hands of the fascist-Nazi American corporations and the fascist-Nazi American rich.
WITH THE CALLING OUT OF THE NATIONAL GUARD IN WISCONSIN AND PROBABLY MANY OTHER STATES WE WILL BE WITNESSING THE RELIVING OF KENT STATE AND AMERICANS KILLING AMERICANS.
THE UNITED STATES OF MORTAL SIN IS OUR NAME AND SINNING IS OUR GAME.
My wife has heard that the newly elected politicians are sleeping in their offices as opposed to renting an apartment in Washington, D.C. These are the freeloading Tea Baggers who talk about cuts in helping average Americans. If these free loaders paid rent for their sleeping in the offices, they should pay the going rental rates for using their offices as an apartment.
Governer Walker says his plan will give teachers 100,000 a year salary. he is a liar, or why doesn't he do it now?
If the people were getting that kind of money, they wouldnt need a union. I know first year teachers who have to buy all their own supplies. This does not create wealth for the teachers.
I think we should give free housing, food, medical , and a car for the weekends for all teachers. They need to be held to the highest of honor and standards.
right now I am broke, so I wouldnt qualify to go to school to become a teacher. The system is broke. We still need to teach and reteach the baby boomers about the 21st century. then the eldest should become the teachers, for they are the most experienced in life.
We need to build things. we need to learn what a callius is from a hard days labor and toil. we need to see the progress and feel pride. We need to be in love with our neighbors, not afraid of them. Unions make your neighborhood safe. No need to go out on the streets with bats to save a "wally world", if nothing in the store is made in our neighborhood. Unions make our education the same so we can communicate sucessfully. The fracturing of the education system is polarizing people. This is opposite of the purpose of the UNITED STATES.
Credit instead of wages has killed this country. It costs more to go to school to become a teacher , than you will ever create wealth. after 20 years of service to a thankless community, most teachers still do not own a house. Something is seriously wrong!
What I keep hearing, and what Thom keeps saying, (and, what I know from my own uninformed life) is INVOLVE EVERYBODY! INFORM EVERYBODY! ENLIST EVERYBODY!! We are on the cliff's edge of losing it all!! It doesn't have to be this way! It is WAY PAST "somebody else will do it!" If WE, A-L-L, are not ready to participate, to know what's happening to us, and to fight (peacefully, persistently, unrelentingly and determinedly) them off of us by now, then just lay down and let them finish running us flat into the ground! THIS IS AMERICA!! THE main topic of conversation with everybody has to be WHAT we are, each one, currently working on to save our country! I ask you, "What else can it possibly take??" Let those of us who do know be helpful -- helpful -- to those who do not. Not everyone has the opportunity to just start getting involved and start getting educated/informed. This is a truth we need to be aware of and compassionate about. We must actively work to speak with all those we are around and be sure to invite them in, and not push them out, not criticize them because they aer not already up-to-speed. WE NEED US, EVERY ONE. With the budget being a pertinent issue, I'd like to hear Ravi Batra's take on it as well as what he thinks about the current situation of the economy. Been awhile since I heard Dr. Batra on the show. (Hint hint)

The book by Bill Bryson titled "At Home" has a chapter (subject: the Nursery and Childhood) on historical child labor. It is truly a sickening thing to read, though Bryson is an excellent writer and gathers an amazing amount of detail into his narratives. Kids as young as 3 worked as farm laborers, lttle kids were used as chimney sweeps and all sorts of industrial positions. There was no law against child-theft, so children were often kidnapped and turned into slave laborers. These practices continued up until well into the 20th Century.
Bryson pointed out that the "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" received special status from the British monarch decades before the "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children" was even formed, and the society to save chilren has never received the special recognition of the monarch.
And now some folks want to repeal protective regulations?
